Saw this in an Instagram Story, lost the source already such is the firehose of data these days but I think it was chhowardgolf on Instagram so credit to him or whoever golf person I follow on Instagram.

I'm going to guess down the line because that's the most prevalent angle, the ones instructors choose to take, although maybe it might be that face on is a harder angle to get at some ranges.

I went with DTL. I have an absolutely sub-moronic sense of feel with the golf swing and zero natural talent. Most of my issues stem from faults most easily analyzed from DTL.

I never really gave this a thought.   At my skill level both are quite necessary.

If I had to pick one, I would say I would prefer face on.

Try closing your eyes when you watch ,,, lol

I like face on view for more definitive details.
This view gives you all club positions, rotation and weight transfer.
And tempo and viewing impact and balance through the swing.

DTL shows position at address with alignment of feet and shoulders.
Shoulder, hip rotation and hand positions and club path.

Eh, forced to pick, I went DtL.

But, some lessons I give are exclusively face-on (it often helps something DL too so I still record that, usually).
