kings of leon

Man, "Because of The Times" is such a good album. It really surprised me. Seemed like quite big change from what they had done before.

Fiona Apple

Another great female vocalist!

You know it's too bad that the Bee Gee's are only remembered for being a Disco act. Their early stuff is really great Pop music. Like Odessa.

It is an awesome album, and by album I mean something you listen to from the first song to the last. Yes it is a little different a little more "polished" but I just love those guys. They rock, have great melodies, all their albums are great!

queens of the stone age

You know, I've never listened to QOTSA, but The Eagles of Death Metal rock my socks off.

Seriously, I had "Death by Sexy" on endless loop for a good part of 2006.

that freaking feist girl's voice is like crack. . . can't get off it! I wanna show her MY secret heart!

Yeah, I like Leslie Feist quite a bit, but you know who is sort of similar that I like a whole lot more? Regina Spektor.

"Begin To Hope" is a great album. Check this out: Oh yeah, and she's at least 400x hotter than Kelly Tighlman?

I'm a classic rock fiend. Here's my list, no approx high to low order:

Beatles
Led Zep (except for Robert Plant)
The Who
Cream
Hendrix
The Band
Bob Dylan
SRV
Blues Brothers (so what if they're a TV band, they can really blow!)
Creedence
Queen
early Bowie
The Doors
ELO
Grand Funk
The Guess who
Neil young
Doobie Brothers
Temptations
Otis Redding
Rolling Stones
Johnny Cash
Willie Nelson
Old bluegrass
Ben Fold (five)
Pearl Jam
Weezer's first 2 albums
The Shins
Victor Wooten
Ray Charles
Buddy Holly
Roy Orbison
too many more

I also dig classical/romantic music from about 1750-1900, no baroque or modern stuff though.

Here's the stuff I can't stand:
new country
modern hip-hop/rap
Bruce Springsteen (I really despise him)
Genesis
Fleetwood Mac

Polack,

I have great affection for most of what's on your list, but have to disagree with you on Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac. Rumours and Tusk are amazing albums - and I'm a fan of most of Bruce's discography esp. everything pre-"born to run".

As for "New Country" have you ever listened to The Jayhawks, Ryan Adams, Neko Case, Clem Snide, The Drive-By Truckers, Old 97's, Rilo Kiley, Scud Mtn. Boys, etc. etc.?

If you are talking about the crap you hear on country radio or see on CMT, then yeah I totally agree.

The Drive By Truckers new album, "Brighter Than Creation's Dark" is fantaaaaaastic (like all their albums).

My tastes are very diverse. I have Sirrius so that helps me get my fix. We also listen to XM at work all day.

I listen to everything from country to rap to clasic rock and 80's hair bands. My favorites are:

Country: Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Big and Rich and Bobby Pinson

Rap: Eminem, D12, Ice Cube, Snoop and other stuff from the 80's and 90's. Most of todays stuff is terrible.

Rock: Kid Rock, Jimmy Buffett, The Who and Guns and Roses

In the CD player in my truck I have Brad Paisley: 5th Gear, Kenny Chesney: Just Who I am Poets and Pirates, Kid Rock: Rock and Roll Jesus, Jimmy Buffett: Meet Me in Margaritaville Disc 2, Jimmy Buffett: Take the Weather With You and Jack Johnson: In Between Dreams.

With all the various stuff I listen to, I should get an MP3 player. My wife and kids all have them, but I haven't gotten around to buying one yet.
