  1. You said the Master's official turned Fowler's hat around. That was wrong. You said he should have talked to Fowler off-camera. That seems to be wrong since no one has posted a video of it happening. You said the guy who allegedly turned the hat around was a rich white guy. That was wrong. You said that Augusta didn't allow any black members until Tiger came along. That was wrong. Maybe before the next reason for criticizing Augusta National you come up with you should do a little better fact checking? And, BTW, you seriously criticize the club for not al

  2. Why do people care so much that Tiger doesn't give the best interviews? Maybe he's just not comfortable in those situations, or maybe he just doesn't like them, or maybe he's tired of being scrutinized more than anyone else, or who knows. If you ask me, Tiger should just continue to be himself as he sees fit. It's who we all know he is, why try to be anything different? He's a competitor, and it's pretty obvious by now that for him to be in "game mode" he wears his competitive emotions on his sleeve and those come out in post round interviews too. If he gives such crappy intervie

  3. Erik, Round and round you go apparently ! You must really dislike the "look" of long putting (the crux of your argument)-enough apparently to draw up proposed rules to outlaw them. When you never get summoned by the USGA or R&A; on this matter, will you tell the panel: "guys it just looks bad, and it's not how it's done, I know it doesn't help anyone"? I can't believe you're sticking with this-seriously dude ! ? Anyway, you're right, people are entitled to their opinions. To this end, can you please not censor me on this one? Thanks, have a g

  4. I understand with many of the great athletes it isn't as much wanting to win as they truly deep down hate to lose. Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird were very strong in their opinion of this. I recall an interview with Tiger once where he said words to the same effect. A lot of the elite athletes don't really feel the elation and joy that we could experience when winning - they simply expect to. But they don't expect to lose, and that frosts them far more than any enjoyment from winning, and in their mind they devalue themselves as a person. In many ways, it mu

Hireko has a special promotional 15% discount on their Acer XK irons till the end of April 2011. http://blog.hirekogolf.com/2011/04/exclusive-april-sales-promotions/?utm_source=Assembled%2BHomepage%2BMinibanner%2BXK%2BIron%2BSale&utm;_medium=Assembled%2BHomepage%2BMinibanner%2BXK%2BIron%2BSale&utm;_campaign=Assembled%2BHomepage%2BMinibanner%2BXK%2BIron%2BSale I have bought their Dynacraft Prophet Tour Irons and the quality was good. I bought a set of Acer XK Irons off of Ebay and it held up pretty well to my abusive swings. They do have a 60 day guarant

  6. To me lamb is quite common, and I live in the US. I guess it just depends what kind of a cook you are and where you like to shop. FWIW I think it's best grilled with some rosemary.

  8. Shot 85 on a brutal day at one of the best courses I've ever played, Arabella Country Estate, currently ranked #4 in South Africa. It was long. The wind blew spray off the lagoon and sand out of the bunkers. It rained on us, turning the rough into glue. And the greens were shaggier than my dog's tail, as they're in their fall maintenance period. Absolutely loved it! We paid the equivalent of $30 to play here.

  9. I also had a Nike SQ 4 Wood. i Would find myself never seeing much of a difference between my 3 & 5 wood. I am a higher handicap and i am sure the guys with lower handi caps would see a bigger difference. I rather have an extra wedge instead of 2 woods. I will look and see but for those with swings speeds under 100 4 wood travels farther than a 3 wood anyway . Google it and I am sure you can find it. I am not saying agree or disagree with it but its a great play either way.

  10. Rattle snake is very good. I have had it several times deep fried. Alligator is also very good. I know it's cliche but it really does taste look and feel similar to chicken.

  11. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the interview whatsoever. If someone wants to ask stupid questions then why should the person being interviewed have to sugar-coat everything and not reply with "you're an idiot" answers? Tiger was a lot more polite than I would have been with ridiculous questions like that. His answers were clear, concise and honest; you can't ask for more than that. Or would you have preferred a whole load of useless drivel?

  12. I buy this, but it's more important to be able to hit the green in the first place. Until one can hit a single consistent shot to a target reliably, worrying about trying to hit particular shapes is probably counterproductive. Sure, maybe sometimes your shape won't fit the layout, but that shouldn't ever cost you more than one stroke to lay up around a dog leg. Trying and failing to pull off a draw or fade and winding up in the woods will easily cost you more than that. That said, my mostly unsubstantiated belief is that practicing shaped shots on the range before you intend to use t

  14. I've played the eye2's, Zing2's, ISI's, i5's, S58's, i10's, G10's, i15's and now the Ansers. All were good clubs but the i15's and Ansers are my favorites. I think both sets offer a great blend of accuracy, playability and forgiveness. If you want to save some money, try the i15's. If money isn't an object and you want that forged feel, try the Ansers. There really is no wrong answer when dealing with Ping irons. It just depends on what set fits you best. Hope that helps. -Schlebrock-

  15. Something I thought was interesting, maybe no one else cares. But tonight as I watched a replay of Jack's 1986 Masters win, I thought I heard a faint British voice say "Yes Suh!" as Jack made his eagle putt on 15. I knew that two holes later Verne Lundquist would make his famous "Yes Sir!" call when Jack birdied 17. The Web is wonderful, and with a little checking I found a Golf Digest story that explained it all, and confirmed that I had indeed heard what I thought I had heard. That first voice was Ben Wright, but Lundquist didn't know for years that he had actually copied anoth

  16. What the hell? Based on your skill level (and the description of your round) you could suck just as bad with a cheaper ball.

  17. No. Changing to more expensive clubs won't make a difference. Regardless if an iron's made of carbon steel, stainless steel, beryllium copper or zinc, if the head's the same shape, the loft's are the same, the lie angle's the same and the shaft and grip are the same... they'll perform the same. Beryllium copper and zinc can't be bent, that is why they are "inferior" to stainless and carbon steels. Most likely, that set of Maxfli's weren't fitted to your swing. You switch clubs, regardless of brand, to a fitted set and you'll see an improvement. Very cheap drivers are made with alum

  18. Too many other balls that are a better value and perform as well for me. Have been playing the Z Star since early 2010 and think it's one of the best all around balls I have personally ever played but am very disappointed that Srixon has raised the price on the Z Star's this year to equal the Pro V series at $45.99. May be going back to the Penta as I feel it is also an excellent ball and I can get them off the shelf for $39.99. Have been really trying to like the Bridgestone B-330RX but it just isn't working it's way into bag. $40.00 is my price point right now. Would pay $75.00 for a doz

    • To those asking sarcastically if we could consider someone with 12 or 13 majors and 60 or 70 wins the GOAT someday… how’s that working out? Rory is stuck. Spieth. Koepka. JT. Collin won 2 of 8. Tiger won 7 of 11 or something at one point. Winning majors right now is hard. Tiger did it better than anyone ever all things considered.
    • I am retired, but have a turf degree. The course I used to belong to used to have guys that did not play golf doing the set up. I used to play 9 by myself a lot, and was usually the first off. When I would see tee markers set like that, I’d move them.
    • Tiger Woods Corrects Dwyane Wade After Basketball Star Calls Him the GOAT: 'I'm Not There Yet' "I'm not done," 82-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods repeated after retired NBA star Dwyane Wade... I do not think his comment “I’m not done” simply meant he expected he could do more in his professional career.  He neither accepted nor declined the monicker of GOAT.
    • Use your best judgment. You can have multiple home courses. But if you only play them once a month or something that’s going to be tough.
    • Nice birdie on the 17th today.  Started on the back 9.  About 500 yard tee shot over water and a fairway hazard around 250.  Got it that length but missed the hazard.  Then a 2 hybrid got me inside 50 yards of the green and a great PW put me inside 5 feet.  Drained the putt for a nice birdie
