  1. It's pretty accurate. To within a range, at least. If you swing 95 MPH, you probably won't be a scratch golfer.

  2. We see Augusta more than any other major-hosting golf course, so I'm not sure I agree with your premise. I "know" Augusta better than Pebble, St. Andrews, Bethpage Black, etc. We see Augusta as much as TPC Sawgrass, Innesbrook, Doral, etc.

  3. Shot a 37 + 40 for a 77. Did much better swinging easy. Wasted 4-5 strokes around the green on some short missed putts and bad bunker play.

  5. the funny thing is none of this is about Augusta, Paula expressed an opinion which is her right. From there the Folks at Augsta said no thanks...that is the end of it. The rest of the would, could, should is just silly. It is a private club and they said no...move on, none of us including the LPGA are welcome unless invited. One other thing, they don't give a damn about the money so that may be the single worst arguement in this entire thread.

  7. Er? Wasn't there a PGA ruling about mobile phones - something like you mustn't be carrying a mobile phone on the course. Since all recent better mobiles have a compass, a weather forecast, wind speed and direction, and can run apps for inclination and a phone version of a spirit level - all these were considered un-natural aids to playing - therfore no phones on the course. (A bit like carrying a builders spirit level in your bag - since you promised not to use it, why did you take it with you?) In any case I connot imagine why anyone would be playing golf and needing to be in touch in suc

  8. I do not think it was so much that they disliked the fact that people using anchored putting won majors at an unprecedented rate, it is that those wins were likely to fuel what they already saw as an unhealthy trend of young players being taught anchored putting ab initio. When it was the refuge of the older players and the occasional top player it was one thing. But when it started to get credibility as something more, the ruling bodies looked at it and determined that they had to take action.

  9. Hey guys, By the end of last year I was suffering quite some back pain. So a couple of months ago I decided to change and improve my swing. The first time I filmed myself I was pretty shocked of my movements and I had quite some strong early extension going on. I started to work on that and was searching for ways to improve that problem. After evaluating myself I recognized my hamstrings and lower back were way to tight So I started to do stretches, learned how to improve my squat position and started following Kelly Starred who is kind of a Crossfit guru. 10. Aye.... I have mixed thoughts on this one. I think it would be awesome for the women to be able to play Augusta, but part of the allure of the course is it's exclusivity. The Masters is such a big deal and the history is amazing... Allowing an LPGA event at the same course could possibly dilute the prestige of the event because we would be seeing more of the course. It's almost a supply and demand type approach... Limit our accessibility and the demand stays incredibly high with the history and specialty of the masters in tact. I'm all for growing the game and accessibility to gol

  11. I'm fine with them asking, there's no harm in that. However, if this becomes a "movement" to try and force it to happen it would probably bother me a bit. I don't necessarily think that it will go that route, because I'm sure the LPGA knows that would hurt their reputation more than help it, but when you get "no" for an answer and you keep pushing for it.... I don't know, it just reminds me of how a petulant child won't accept being told "no".

  12. I have been reading this thread a couple of days now and holding my tongue. First I don't think this is a good idea for a LPGA Masters as the LPGA already has 5 majors and adding another only dilutes the importance of the majors. Having said that I would like to see them Play at Augusta National. They play a pretty good brand of golf and I watch then whenever I have time and especially the majors. Maybe the LPGA could have a "players" tournament at Augusta or some other course with good status, maybe a west coast venue like Torrey Pines or Pebble Beach.

  13. New guy here, been following this thread and biting my tongue for as long as I can but I have to say- some of you guys are ridiculous. This isn't the 1950s and you're not Don Draper, get over yourselves and get with the times. Stuff like I see some of you saying in this thread is really making me second guess my attempts to get my sister interested in the game. Anybody talking about "fireman calenders" or how there's a double standard- you realize that women are objectified about 1000x more than men, right? You're not being "persecuted", your rights aren't being taken away, you won't catch

  15. I just sit here and shake my head and think "I've got a lot of work to do" because most of you are hitting three to five clubs longer than me. I'm hitting a 5 iron what some hit a wedge or 9 iron, I hit a hybrid or fairway wood and see some are just using a 5 iron. Then I think of what I could do if I had that kind of distance. Oh well, it's okay, I still enjoy the game.

  17. I'm a fitter and I can assure you that the name brand you are hitting is the least important part of your golf game, without exception. Now if you are a touring Pro, PGA card holding club pro or employee, college golf team, etc then you may require something different, but even then it's mostly mental. For the vast majority of golfers (95%), the weekend warriors or hackers, it means nothing in reality to their game. First learn to put and pitch for free. Any and every golf club has greens and chipping areas that you can use for free. Start here. Learn to two put without exception a

    • I grew up 30 min from the stadium and would go to 10+ games per year every year as a kid, have been on the field, the locker rooms, offices, etc, have been to numerous playoff games including game 7 of the 2016 World Series. They've been my favorite team my entire life. All that being said, I understand the name change and don't have a problem with them changing the name. Some of the reactions I've been seeing on social media have been ridiculous. The team being called a different name changes very little about the actual team IMO. Given the choice between the Guardians and the Spiders though, I'd probably choose Spiders, just a personal preference. I will say though that I'm not a fan of the logo. I'm not artistic in the slightest but I feel that they could have come up with a better logo than what they did. Hopefully it evolves over time into something better.
    • Much better than Washington Football Team!
    • Same for me on past 3 rounds on my Classic. They said to email them log files but there was no data in the files.  I am awaiting @DaveP043review on GG Pro as that is my next option.
