  1. Being that 95 is my average driver swing speed, I agree! But it does not mean that you should give up. My objective is to be the best I can be with the body I have and the swing speed I can generate. That is why I keep working on it. I fear that some would read the article and get discouraged.
  2. I think what some mean when they say Tiger won't win again is really just they don't want him to win again. Some of the things mentioned in this thread indicating his premature demise are silly.
  3. So I took out my old insert, and sent my putter head to spyro golf on eBay. He created a custom copped milled insert for my odyssey, as well as doing a black oxidized finish and redoing the paint fill. Overal I am very pleased and it feels incredible on the green. I've had this thing for 8 years and she's been benched for two Scottys but I've come back to her and she's always been good to me. before: After:
  4. Watching Crane's pace of play is Painful. My God is he slow.
  5. A Sweet round going for Jerry Kelly as well. Keep it going old man,
  6. He was good enough to be paired with the #1 ranked player in the world on Masters Sunday. The reality is we have no idea what he will or won't accomplish until he's done. Until then my money is on him being near or at the top of the OWGR again and winning tournaments. He's just 39. Is he an old 39 maybe but guys are out there winning after 40. People talk about Jimmy Walker and Henrik Stenson like they were freshly minted yesterday at 36 and 39. Phil has won 5x after age 39, two were majors. IMO too early to count Tiger out of anything.
  7. You are pretty open and free with other people's property. And I would argue that the US Women's Open already IS a true major. Possible the only ladies major I would truly call a major. A true major comes from tradition, not designation, IMO.
  8. Some positive encouragement, especially when you sense frustration, will help more than you can imagine.
  9. Somebody responded earlier in either this or the Masters thread to a similar post with what I believe to be the most sensible answer: That is an AWFUL lot to draw from one round of golf. You realize that Tiger Woods has played mediocre rounds on Sundays of majors before, right? Even when he was in his prime. Hell, he missed the cut of the US Open in 2006, right in the middle of a string of major finishes from the 05 Masters through the 08 US Open where he went 1,2,1,4,3,CUT,1,1,2,2,12,1,2,1. Was he "finished" then? I have no problem with people thinking that he's finished because injuries have caught up with him or simply age, or some other factor, but to say it's because he didn't play great on Sunday ... that's just plain silly.
  10. I keep track of fairways hit, but more importantly is... do I have a shot at the green. I'd prefer to be in the fairway to have a nice clean lie, but it typically doesn't matter as long as I have a line to the green. In some instances, missing a fairway can give one a better line at the green or a specific flag location.
  11. Fairways are overrated. The drive is near your max distance in good position fairway: +1 The drive is near your average, but not in a position that would hurt you (fairway, rough): 0 The drive is in a bad position that would require a low percentage chance to make the GIR or has already cost you a stroke (Fairway bunkers, Water, OB, behind a tree): -1 Overall goal is to never have -1's and get a few +1's. Mostly you will be around zero.
  12. I actually think your posture looks pretty good.
  13. How was that shot in the down the line video? Comparable to your average shot? To me it looks like a huge pull, at least based on the ball flight: If your normal ball flight is a draw, it's probably a pull draw, because you're swinging way across the ball from out to in. This might be due to a whole lot of swaying going on in your back swing: Ideally your left hip should stay on that line or even move slightly ahead of it. Because of this it's very hard for you get your weight forward at impact: Having your weight back causes you to swing out to in, which can cause snap hooks and all kinds of problems. You should check this out: http://thesandtrap.com/t/76114/how-to-make-a-centered-hip-turn I hope it helps.
  14. You're a non-golfer if your focus is on the 19th hole even before you finish the first hole
  15. It's not a single shot, but after taking lessons all winter, Im starting to hit greens on approach shots. Still clunking intermittingly but hitting that green from 130 yards and in, is a great feeling
  16. Faster and harder are not the same thing. At least that's what she said years ago on Prom Night.
  17. I am calling you out as a non-golfer IF........... you would rather play in a scramble than play a regular round of golf.
  18. I did this in my living room. You owe me a new tv.
  19. I leave mine in my truck turned Off,believe it! I'm on the course to concentrate on playing golf not check messages. People that get their phones out while on the course playing, just annoy the shit out of me.
  20. I played poorly today, but holed-out twice from off the green. That don't sukk!! it never does! LOL
  21. Well, i don't know about low T, POTUS and women. But i am happy Sarah Palin is not POTUS, whatever her T level.
  22. YouTube also has a bunch of moron golf instructors who do not know their ass from a tea kettle. You may as well say good luck and say nothing as send him to YouTube. You shank because the sweet spot is outside the ball.
  23. Hey, you're not a golfer if you haven't gotten a double digit score on a par 4 before...
  24. After reading this strict list. I'm happy and proud to call myself a non-golfer. I'm just trying to have a good time out there.
  25. Ha! Wifey asked what I want for Christmas this year. I told her I want to go play Pasatiempo in Monterrey with my buddy Darren. She asked "so you want to take a family trip to Monterrey?" Umm, no. (She's not a golfer.)
  26. If your wife even ASKS what you want to do on Fathers Day weekend!
  27. I don't know about that one. Why aren't you a golfer because you don't watch The Golf Channel?

    • Day 29.  Medicine ball drill from LSW tonight.  Indoors, stood on my mat (I'm not sure if that's relevant).
    • Based on my driver distances I am pretty similar to the OP. For me any  course that totals greater than about 5,800 yards is just too long for me.  I read somewhere that if you’re not competing but just playing for fun you might want to try playing variations like a “red, white and blue” round. Meaning - play the par 5s from red, par 4s from white and par 3s from blue.    Depending on the course that might make those longer courses more accessible.
    • I’ve been thinking a lot about what you noticed about me falling back on my heels to start the downswing. I was just curious if my most recent videos seem to show the same thing? I feel like I can see it as well but I’m not sure if we are talking about the same thing. I’ve tried setting up with my weight less on my toes so I don’t fall back into my heels, but even when I swing with my weight starting on my heels it looks like this. Just curious if you would happen to have any input 😁
    • Tried the "Original One". It's not that forgiving. Mini-drivers aren't that forgiving.  I can top a 3W off the tee a lot easier than I can a full sized driver. My swing path is I-O with a 3W but O-I with a standard length driver which results in slices and pulls. However, I don't want to give up that big forgiving club face. Especially not on the first tee. I cannot tell you how many times I've topped a hybrid and shanked an iron. Every 1/2" mishit on the club face you lose 5% distance.  So I got fitted for a 44" driver from Ping. It's short. I may sacrifice a little club head speed, but I'm making center contact and thus gained distance and control.  Last year Cobra made a "Tour length" F9 Driver - 44.25". I wonder if they'll do the same next year?
