  1. Just did some comparisons with Vice pro + , prov1x, chrome soft x, tp5x, snell. All were tested on my launch monitor by my Stepson using wedge to target of 147hrs. All balls delivered spin over 8000 the prov1x was the only ball to spin higher at 9323. I wouldn't hesitate to game any of these and do own snell mtbx and prov1xs but at $20 less a box with similar results Vice pro plus looks like great option.

  2. Hm... what an odd thing to say. I mean, who says that? I'm not offended. I am confused because I didn't know that word was still in circulation. Has anyone used that word in the last 25 years? I really want to take him at his word. I do tend to agree with @iacas on this one, though. If that's the word you choose to pull out when frustrated I'm guessing that's because it's top of mind.

  3. For starters I know my wife is AWESOME! So anyway, after thinking about the fact that my sand wedge and lob wedge are not the same length as my Cobra one length clubs and the fact that I don't know what the actual bounce of my lob wedge is (I have a cleveland 60 degree bent to 64) I decided I needed new wedges. With that I've heard alot of good things about Edel and I knew I needed more bounce (I tend to dig on my chips/and pitches alot) I decided to go with Edel wedges. I wound up getting the Driver grind 62 and 56 degree wedges ( they have 22 and 18 degrees of bounce respecti

  5. You would be correct in instances where there are "a few". But when you are talking in the hundreds of millions worldwide and probably close to 60% of the population in the USA, it makes sound business and moral sense.

  6. I'm voting for Lighthouse Point. It's lighted so they can move the tournament into prime time. With all those flags in the pic and some snow it could double as an Olympic downhill slalom course. Somebody's bragging rights have diminished X2.

  7. I didn't participate in the challenge last year because I wasn't sure how much I'd play, but... I'm in this year. I did keep track, though... and I birdied 13 of 18 (all of the missing holes were among the final 6 holes of the course, so... I guess you could say I have problems closing)! I've played the front nine twice so far and I've birdied the 8th hole both times. Nothing even close outside of that. Looking forward to checking them off! CY

  8. No problem man! Anyway, you guys did help...I was really just concerned with the sharpness of the (for lack of a better term) "srcondary" leading edge and if it would hurt what I was trying to get out of these wedges when I told my wife I wanted them for Christmas. It appears it won't hurt but may or may not help. I'll know when I get to use them on the course though.

  10. When were you married to Tiger? It is the new ethic of the 21st century. Taking offense on behalf of people who don't take offense themselves. And it's corollary, not forgiving someone on behalf of an injured party that does forgive. So you're not saying it's right, but you do it anyway?

  11. I read the comments and reviewed the video expecting it to be a borderline call. IMO, it's not really. The chance of that divot being in the path of the ball is essentially zero. I think no penalty is the correct call, both under the current and former version of the rules.

  12. You’re not an oppressed group. And you can deduct half a million from the white belt payments you were judged to have owed to us. I think that reduction brings your current total down to $16.5M.

  13. I seem to remember you insulting my headcover out at the Chautauqua Golf Club/Learning Center... Can I have a 1/2 million dollars? Or you could just donate it to a charity that serves the insulted headcover community. 😃

  14. You likely are doing something in the backswing or downswing that’s going to make arriving at a good impact position difficult or impossible. My recommendation is to find your priority piece, your biggest issue, and work on that. It’s unlikely to be around impact, though it almost surely will change impact (otherwise, it’s probably not the priority).

  15. I’m not sure what we’re talking about with flattening versus cupping. Players will go from flat at setup to cupped, cupped at setup to flat, or cupped and maintain, or flat and maintain… and all can work. Depends on the grip, backswing, etc. I like that drill to encourage a bit more passive, “one-piece” takeaway. So, the second part of what you said.

  22. Are they really that sacred though? Very few stamp “S” or “L” on the bottom any more. They all stamp the loft and some add the bounce or grind. Also, I think the driver would be Bam Bam, no?😀

  23. What did we learn today? The Sand Wedge and Lob Wedge are sacred by most manufacturers due to utility and function, the term pitching wedge means nothing other than being the iron after the 9 iron, no one got (or acknowledged) the Rodney Dangerfield reference, and that @iacashas a penchant for the Flintstones. The only question left is the obvious. Does he call his driver Betty? It would make sense because everyone knows that Betty was the bomb!

  24. This isn't an anti-Hogan post, far from it, but I thought I'd share my variation on the Hogan set-up because it really has done wonders for me. My "bad" shot has always been a pull slice or if I leave the face open (rarely) a normal slice. I'm self-taught but have used the fundamentals as as my main source of guidance. Hogan set up his swing to guard against the hook, his bad shot. That got me thinking isn't a pull slice/normal slice basically the polar opposite of a hook? Keeping the same stance (that is my right foot is about 6 inches behind my left foot, set-up for a draw) exactly the way

    • My son and I went to St. Andrew's in July 2017 for 8 days.  We played New, Jubilee, Eden and Castle and Duke's along with the Old Course after getting up at 4AM and standing in line for the lottery.  We were 25th and 26th in the Old Course lottery which I remember well and we didn't get a tee time until around 4:30 in the afternoon. This I also remember because I sent an email to the people I work with and had them go on the St. Andrews Links Webcam to watch us on the first tee.  Also we were paired with a father and son who lived 2 hours south of our home and we actually had a mutual friend which was great.  But back to the issue of the golf bag.  My son carried his school bag for all 7 rounds we played and I used a push cart (trolley) at all the courses with my hoofer bag.  Our foursome had a forecaddie at the Old Course because as we teed off so late in the day all the caddies were either on the course or finished looping for the day and went home.  So what we found was having the smaller bag was better for the golf but not as safe for the shipping.  Get a good sturdy airline travel bag and you will be OK.

    • Day 3 - broke it into 2 morning session & evening session Morning - worked on take away - Covid Day 1 drill, straight soft trail arm, weight 60/60/100 for irons did 10 to 20 drills slow motion with 6i with no ball striking.  Then I finished up with my 6i hitting 20 balls doing these drills at about 1/4 to 1/2 back swing.  Focused on all of the above with final emphasis of getting my hips thru and 100% on my left leg after the swing is done. Evening Session -  Warmed up with GF and 20 Multi swings, stretching Did the above drills to start then proceeded into full swing contact. Worked on my Driver, 5w, 2u, 3u, 5i and hit 40 balls. Finished up with GF added in left hand swinging today 20, left, 20 back and forth baseball and 20 right handed.  All GF work was +5 from yesterday. Enjoyed the session
    • I don't feel like anything I've said contradicts any of your points here.  It would have to start small.  So small that there would be enough sponsorship/prize money to make it worth it for maybe 4 of these guys to show up to an exhibition match.  And once (if) it gains some traction, some prestige, and the fun of an event like this is marketed correctly, it could grow from there. Obviously you don't like this idea.  So what is more realistic... something like a small independent event that may or may not grow, or the President's Cup altering its format to make it a mixed gender event?  Or is your position that mixed gender events will/should never happen?
    • I can't think of many things less cyclical than Asian players dominating more and more since Se Ri Pak.
