  2. Title changes typically happen when the original title didn't make sense or wasn't relevant to the topic that OP discusses in their post. The original title was something like "Two Mindsets of Golf" but the post doesn't talk about having different mindsets, therefore the original title was relevant or accurate. How does someone changing the title of a topic to something more relevant make this forum way less desirable? If anything changing the title to something more accurate improves the site because it helps increase the accuracy of the search function.

  3. Funny thing is he didn't even argue with me. Not really. I told him to relax, and he called me names for changing the title of his post (and offering to change it again if someone could give me a better title than what it has now). Yeah. Often, if someone is banned, the content that got them banned isn't visible. We ban roughly one non-spammer per month. It's really uncommon. And @bones was leaving anyway. Yeah, we changed the title. Oooooooooooooh. His original title didn't make any sense. You're welcome to show yourself the door at any time. We did noth

  4. Most companies will release new wedges every year in the fall. I suggest going to a shop and hitting them to get a feel of what you like. Check their websites too.

  5. You certainly are entitled to that opinion, but did you actually read the series of posts? In post #22, the OP says he was “shitcanned” because someone disagreed with what he was saying. Obviously REALLY thin-skinned and over-reactive. He calls the administration’s decision to change the title “childish & authoritarian.” Seriously? In the very next post (#23), the administrator explains, in a friendly & polite way, why the title was changed. I didn’t make that decision, but completely agree with it. The Title made No sense. Whatever, no big deal, again, if that was upsetting,

  6. No I didn't do it own my own. When I first started I got 3 private lessons for 2h each with basic lessons in irons, chipping and putting. During the first winter I also had a couple of extra lessons with irons/driver/fairway woods. When spring came around I got a couple of lessons with chipping and putting. So I had a lot of lessons in the beginning but since then I also practice every change I got during 2020. On average 2 times a week with 1-1,5 hours on the driving range and 1 round on our 6 hole par 3 course. Practicing "real" golf on that par 3 course has

  7. Well, Yes. Basically a skinny cart. When I proposed these to course owner a good quality model was $1,700. They have Yamahas. The best, IMO. The math worked. And, the range of them was waaaay more than twice that of a 2 passenger. Number of charging stations and overall real estate for same would/could be an issue. Number of wheels on the course is a valid concern. I think the weight of singles would somewhat offset that concern. Often, we have a 90 degree restriction. You know, stay in the rough until you’re even with your shot. Then go straight out and straight back to th

  8. Imagine that. Argue with the owner of a forum; be disrespectful of the forum, its members, and said owner, get banned. Shocking. One fears poor Bones is in for a rude surprise if he expects anything else anywhere else. I've long wondered about that strike I've seen through some members' nicks. Now I know--complements of ex-member Bones. As for his original topic: To each their own. I haven't practiced on the course, yet, but it's something I may try this coming season.

  9. Maybe it's time to go lefty? Pro employs most bizarre putting stroke you’ll ever see Mark Hubbard, through 35 holes at the American Express, had taken 56 putts with his two hands on the grip of his putter. He took his 57th very differently.

  10. I saw someone with something similar to this single rider cart last summer. He said it was light enough for him to lift it himself into his truck. The price looks to be around $3,000. There are lighter models for less. I would consider using something like this.

  11. You don't need a fitting for this and honestly I don't think I would trust a fitter to get you any better off than you can achieve by yourself. I put a youtube link on here a couple months ago to my video about building an extra long driver. An extra long driver is not a one and done deal, even more so than the rest of the bag (which is coincidentally why I don't believe in most modern fitting practices). It's trial and error and making small tweaks to the set up. What I can recommend are a couple things to increase your chance of success. First make sure you have a driver head that you can re

  13. Welcome to TST. Yes, golf can be frustrating. Part of the game is learning to deal with the frustration. Breaking 90 in your 1st year sounds impressive to me. Good job.

  15. Not sure if this morning was a break-through or a one-off. I swung 114, 116, 123, 119, 114. My previous best had been 117.

  16. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!! Don't go away. Take a step back for a second. Listen, I know quite a few of the folks on this forum personally and they are all really good people, who love discussing golf. It seems you've become very upset because the title of your thread was changed. Think of it this way, when searching for this thread the rest of us need a way to recognize it. The moderator who changed it just tried to make it easier for the rest of us to find your thread. Over the years I've had many thread titles changed. I've started other threads which have been merged with similar threads

  17. Sticking with the same stuff, left leg slider feel and maintaining the right ankle dorsiflexion. Hitting it well, taken a lot of the left miss out of play, misses recently have been pushes. Went to PING last week to get fit for the new woods, some changes from my last trip which I think is reflective of the swing trending in the right direction. Don't need to tweak the loft lower with the driver anymore and they recommend I hard-step my iron shafts. I like how stable the right foot is on the backswing and how the left foot is rolling to the outstep much less with the face-o

  19. Not really. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Jim Venetos...we discussed his swing on this site. I swing from a position that I hold...closed stance and remain quite still on the back swing. So honestly I’m pretty consistent with my driver and figured a little longer shaft would give me some more yards. My accuracy was a little less as when I did make a mistake ( like opening too much on my downswing) my cut would be a little more drastic than with the shorter length.

  20. So true, unfortunately. It’s not fair to label someone as sexist just because they find a sport more entertaining based on talent. I find women’s gymnastics in the olympics way more entertaining than the men. I also enjoy watching women’s tennis every bit as much as men’s. But women’s golf? It just doesn’t have the flair that the men’s does. They usually play quite boring. Just the fact that they can beat all of us isn’t exciting enough. Watching the guys go for par 5’a in two, crazy cut shots, hooks, long bunker shots, fw wood off the concrete, and of course monster drives. Sorry, but the

  21. I voted no. If that's true about Patrick Reed's background I can relate but there comes a time when one has to stand up and take responsibility for their own life and quit blaming others for their own issues - in my opinion.

    • Can't find the article or blog but I remember reading about Paul Wood (PING engineer) talking about how from a physics standpoint, more compact heads worked better for more skilled players. Basically a longer/wider face makes it harder for the better player to square up the face and hit the center. This bit hints at it.
    • Even Tom Brady?  When?  Please, for the love of god, tell me when.  😂
    • Day 8.  Spent ten minutes hitting 8-iron and 6-iron indoors, off a mat, into a net.  Took about as many minutes.  Then, I wandered out back to do Speed Sticks.  I haven't read the rules of that encouragement role, but I should:  my last time (before a few minutes ago) using speed sticks, or at least measuring it, was October 25.
    • Just want to add that it's also related to ankle dorsiflexion. So for the last month before each round I'll take the grip end of a club and press it into the top of my calf as I rehearse the backswing and early downswing. Basically I don't want that angle from the foot to the ankle to change. Puts me in a position to work through the hip joint, which means that knee won't collapse inward. Gives me a good feel and reminder before and even during the round.
