  1. Dude. That’s only a few steps away from “that woman was asking for it, did you see how she was dressed?” Actually that’s basically what you just said.

  2. If you had read her response, you might have noticed that she discusses her choice of attire, the Nike skirts with shorts built in. These "skorts" are pretty common for women golfers of all ages, including my own wife. The vision of "panties" is apparently a product of Mr. Giuliani's imagination. That he needed to mention "panties" speaks to his take-away from the day. He could certainly have told the story, said that the paparazzi interest in their group was based on Wie's putting style, without going down the "panty" route.

  3. My overriding goal is, of course, to lower my scoring and the unstated goal is to move from the B Flight to the A Flight in my league. I am not going to repeat my initial 2021 goals here but you can see them here if you like. There is a fair amount of detail on my game from last year. It would be arrogant of me to think that my initial plan is so perfect that it should be carved in stone and never allowed to change. The plan has barely begun and thanks to TST that plan is already evolving. Near the end of January, I realized that my golf clothes from last year were

  6. Once again, thank you sincerely to everyone (except Shorty) who have taken part in this conversation. I/we have benefited from your comments (except for Shorty's) and will take note of quite a few things that were mentioned. I love playing with my Dad and I/he does know that he is a little feisty and set in his ways. Ageing is a process that he is completely aware of and adopting a better diet and practising stretching exercises as advised on this thread can only help. His rotary cuff injury has existed for over 30 years and after only one stretching session, with me, he is experienc

  7. About 12 years ago, as a 13 year old, I developed a mild version of the yips. Basically, my forearms would rotate through impact and I would miss many putts to the left. I knew this was happening but I couldn't fix it. I tried everything from using straps, reversing my hands, using belly putters etc etc. Nothing made any lasting difference. The problem persisted. I was then given the best tip for this problem and I would like to share it with you. Heck, it's possible that this is a well known procedure but here goes. By simply bending your lead elbow and pointing it towards the targe

  8. There is a difference in looking and making really bad comments. I understand that our eyes are drawn to look at certain areas of the body. That is just human nature. Its completely different in using it as an excuse to justify really bad behavior. Its completely different to use it as a way to demean the opposite sex.

  12. I read the referenced article. The fact she was wearing "skorts" is not mentioned. Sounds like something akin to those tiny little skirts female ice skating competitors wear? If so: Then Giuliani was indeed letting his imagination run away with him. The "panties" portion of those skirts are always quite modest. I do agree Giuliani could have made his point in a more subtle, more chivalrous manner.

  14. I’ve decided to create this blog to chronical what I hope is a major transformation in my golf game. I am not an experienced writer and have no idea if anyone will find this of interest but I am forging ahead anyway. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to your thoughts & comments. I have been golfing for many years. I took 2 lessons in high school but played very little after that year until 2000 when my wife & I planned to start golfing together and purchased some real cheap clubs. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with melanoma shortly thereafter and spent the next couple of

  17. In a way, yes. The no politics rule makes TST more tolerable, and the subject matter is mostly more specific. The membership limited to people with a common goal which is to attempt to get better at this stupid game that we all play. The moderators here do an excellent job at keeping the foolishness at bay.

  19. I purchased an 0211 driver that just got delivered today. I'm really excited to get out onto the course tomorrow and give it a try. I also ordered the Gen 2 0311P irons, which will be here next week. I didn't exactly need new irons (or the driver) but the price was good that I decided to go for it.

  21. 1. Bend sufficiently to have arms hang away from torso. 2. First move - track club head, hands, soft arms straight back as wide as possible without losing peripheral vision of target. 3. Wide, wide, wide. Arms, especially left, maintain soft stretch. Do not 'load' arms. 4. Maintain incline, finish A4 with patience and...GO. Overall the feel is of space and 'carrying' ropy arms and club around the inclined body.

  25. Ok, I can identify 100 percent. But it's not even about golfers but women in general. It's hard to not notice when something attractive is right front of you. I get it. I believe the difference between you (as well I personally know you) and RG is what you said in your second paragraph. The filter between head and mouth is completely missing. It's either because there is a of complete lack of tact or because he is a straight up dick. I am thinking its both. It's sad because there was a time as @mcanadiens pointed out, when we looked up to him.

  26. One topic this brings to my mind is how we "evaluate" golfers, how we separate physical attractiveness from performance on the course. I've always thought of Michelle Wie as a very attractive young woman, and at the same time admired her golfing skills. I don't believe she's ever specifically "used" her appearance (ala Paige Spiranac) as a route to success, although I'm sure her appearance has made her more valuable from a sponsorship and endorsement standpoint. I'm a guy, and not a young one. I notice the physical appearance and clothing of women players. And I'll be honest, I may fr

  27. For me it is primarily about the roll. If I am short-sided I pitch hoping to stop the ball close to the hole. If Pin is far side of the green more often than not I chip and let it roll. Of course, you need to take hazards, etc. into account. If it is downhill and there is risk of rolling off the far side (either another shot to get back up on the green or worse, roll into a hazard, I will pitch. My #1 goal is to get the putter in my hand.

  28. Is there a reason you don't want to just run the 130 through the wedges as well either in the x or drop into s? General rule is get the wedges slightly heavier than the irons or keep them the same. Don't usually see many people go lighter, at least not by choice. If you're worried about the flex, you might want to just look at DG S400s. I know it boring, but there's a reason 95% of tour guys use them. The ascending weight would still match up and they will be a little softer than the 130x for better touch and feel.

  29. First, let me say, thanks for posting much better videos I'll be really happy when you put up something that has 240 FPS but, like you said, baby steps. OK, to be frank, you're not getting it yet, but, I applaud the effort of more swing vids already. So I really want you to study a couple new ideas first. Here's a video from a golf school I really respect. It's called Golf Evolution. In it, the instructor juxtaposes two ways to swing the club: A) a very common and slow way, and B) a much more efficient and powerful way. Unfortunately, you fall under column A right now and need

  30. If Michelle Wie truly objected to men noticing her panties were showing when she bent over to putt, wouldn't she wear skirts that didn't allow her panties to show when she bent over to putt?

    • You can do this even better with Game Golf or Arccos. Handicap doesn't tell much.   Gotcha. Common.   LOL nice
    • Wow, 2014! Time flies... This would probably be easier now than it was for me seven years ago.
    • I mean I would, but of course I don’t own a knife sharpener 😃
    • I never use my handicap in any form other than a barometer of where my game is at in combination with all the other stats I keep. I never play in anything where MY handicap is used. My league keeps a "handicap" (that's far from a legit) and they do net scores simply because so many people in the league are terrible and its just for fun so they're trying to keep it competitive but when I am playing with my friend group its always gross and we're generally playing anything other than stroke play.  Favorite game is one I actually "invented" I call it Fu*k You. Alternate shot match play (or just match play if it's a two-some but alt shot is more fun) where you get 3 mulligans and 3 call backs per side. So if you hit a bad shot obviously you can use a mulligan but if your opponent hits a good shot you can go "fu*k you, hit it again" and they have to try to duplicate the shot. Both cannot happen from the same spot though, there's a max of 2 shots per spot if you use a mulligan your opponent cant recall the mulligan and if they recall your first shot you cant mulligan your second. Super fun and a lot of strategy involved.
    • Billy, no, but there are sometimes snakes, although Ihaven't seen any personally but I've seen LOTS Of twisted sticks on the ground that have scared the crap out of me -- i don't know if that counts or not?  Also, there is a bat tree on the front nine in Lusaka, it is a huge tree and has enormous bats in it for half the year (then they migrate). So, that's cool!
