  1. I'm 68. That's what I was concerned about as I aged. But when I finally went to the seniors tee, it made the game more enjoyable. You just have to check your ego at the door.

  2. I'm not sure if Hideki Matsuyama thanked his caddy but his caddy thanked the course!

  3. I think it happens pretty much all the time. Lowry, for example.

  4. I don't know why it wouldn't be 'more' enjoyable? Would it cause more separation in your mind between you and scratch golfers, or even professional golfers? Would you rather shoot 100 from the back tees or 85 from the white tees? A refusal to move up to the proper tee box is a reason for frustration, and slow pace of play. I am 66 now and feel that I have earned the privilege to play from the white tees. When I golf with my friends I really enjoy playing from the whites and don't care what anybody else thinks.

  5. We have another infographic incoming: Morikawa had no fives (or worse) today.

  6. Proved you wrong all day. And before that I’m winning three majors and 12 PGA Tour events.

  7. Give it time and work on getting your flexibility and core strength back. Resistance band training and swing speed training can help. SuperSpeed golf sticks are one way to get speed back.

  8. Another thought: how much has your accuracy changed with the decreased distances? In other words, is your current 200 yard club a reasonable tee shot now, comparable to your previous 200-yard 7-iron shots?

  9. WOW. What a par save by Morikawa after a major unforced error. Maybe Louis should have sent his caddie to tend the pin on the par-3 11th?

  10. I was a very long hitter 30 years ago, one of the very few I knew that could consistently hit the driver 300 yards with the old technology we had. Back then I'd hit a 7 iron carrying it 165 with drop and stop spin. I still cant fathom hitting a 7 iron 200 yards. One thing I wonder about hitting short irons that long, does one carry 6 wedges???? With new technology I have only lost 5 yards between 32 and 62.... have you tried new clubs?

  11. I hope so too, and we don't mean Shooter McGavin style "running away"

  12. Collin Morikawa with no fives on his first nine 🙂

  13. If you're not watching, you should be. Oostie gonna get lapped if he's not careful.

  14. No, you hit 1 or 2 inches behind the ball and not suppose to make contact. Luis hit the ball first which is a mistake.

  15. I hope all of you have a great time this week in Wisconsin. Wish I was there with you. Stay hydrated!

  16. PXG offers a great experience when you want to hit them. I have a set of Gen3 and the DualCore irons. The Gen3 is pretty soft feeling. Not like Mizuno but very nice. The DualCore irons have a nice feel despite not being buttery.

  17. A roll of impact tape , see where on the face your hitting. Once you get around the middle of the face you can work on distances and ball movement.

  18. Maybe a pentalobe bit will work? It’s not a very common security bit.

  19. The differences in spin with a driver are incredibly small. The differences are primarily with wedges/short irons.

  20. My feeling is the poor ettiquette started with the golf course architect. If he/she is going to design the possiblity of a back right pin with a short shot into the par 3 green to the right (I'm talking about you hole #14 at North Bellingham) and you've got a trap between you and the pin then I'm pitching! If you putt to miss the bunker then you'll end up 35 feet away from the pin because of the break. Did it once... no regrets... made par.

  21. “Ready” golf has no place in match play, and less in competition except in certain situations. Day to day, when you’re competing against yourself at most, sure. Efficient players can both follow the rules AND play quickly.

  22. Just took a look at these drivers. They look old school in that there isn't a lot of weird geometry on the bottom of the club for the aerodynamics. I kind-of like the look of these drivers.

    • Day 3: COVID-19 day 6 and 7 drills again. Then downswing priority piece work with 7-iron, not much, just 10 balls.
    • Day 69, August 2, 2021 More work on shortening my backswing. I don’t want to even get to hands to right shoulder… at least feeling like that.
    • I'm sure if you look at about two years ago on this site, I mentioned somewhere that after having my first ever sub-80 round (a nice 77 in a tournament!), I failed to break 90 for I think two months.  These things happen. Can't hit an iron?  What's the longest swing you can make with your PW and hit a good result?  If the answer is a chip, go hit some chips and, after some good ones, expand into pitches.  Similar with pitches into 3/4 shots, etc.   This is very likely something you can work out by going back to what you do well.
    • First range session after another productive session with @iacas.  Working on getting my weight forward and also feel like my front forearm is turning to close the clubface.  Did work with my 6I, Driver, 3W, and 4H and hit all clubs really well with ball flights that overall I wasn't unhappy with.  Playing tomorrow and Wednesday so we'll see how we do.
