Why would you wish that on someone?!? LOL. At least he destroyed his OWN property and didn't take it out on the course, cart, etc. Some people have off days and get fired up. I have broken many of clubs in my day. -
Yes they are superior in every way because you played in tournaments that no one has heard of and apparently played well. Good clubs? Yes. Superior than others? Highly doubtful as you dont represent the masses.

I would get a shaft fitting before I would cut it down. Go to a place that has a launch monitor. They will be able to give you exact statistics of how your hitting the ball. I was using a stock shaft in my Nike and the ball was really high on well struck hits. I decided to have a launch monitor session at my golf shop and they had me try different clubs and different shafts. I was tested on the Callaway fitting system since they could switch shafts very fast. I bought the shaft that had the best angles, mph, etc. It was the ProLaunch Red. Technology has pretty much made the one and two iron obsolete. With the hybrids you have the distance but also get the height. I could see how a low piercing one iron would be good for a hard packed flat course if you wanted accuracy of the tee. My friend that rarely ever plays has a Callaway X12 or X14 1 iron and he hits it fine. Forged club, different story
