Video Lesson - How To Hit The Driver
c_mack9 replied to Ringer's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
+1 rep for you sir. i cant wait to try some of these at teh range, i really need them lately. -
i have an 18° 2H i use as my "3 wood" but im also about to buy a new stronger hybrid to hit off the tee. so far (from my research) the best options for us are the 14° 4dx 15° ping g10 and the 16° baffler. im gonna try to demo them all this weekend and make a purchase. as of now im leaning towards the ping g10. 3 woods are to long for me and i cant hit them off the deck either so im goin the hybrid route too. my new stronger hybrid will be used mainly off the tee because my course has a lot of tight tee shots.

The King Cobra Speed Series Driver!!!
c_mack9 replied to d_golf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i hear excellent things about these new speed series drivers if you opt for the upgraded shafts. im wanting to try one out myself. -
honestly i would like 14° but the only on i see is the nickent 4dx. im trying to be patient and not order one until after this weekend because im gonna try to find a large golf store in st louis to demo some hybrids because my local stores dont stock jack. when i decided to get a new hybrid, baffler was the first one on my mind, i was a little disappointed to see them not make the loft i wanted. i will try to hit the one you are talking about before i make a purchase though, thanks. so im planning on hitting the 16° baffler, 15° g10 with the v2 shaft and the 14° 4dx with v2 shaft.

actually i want it to go a long way cause my driver is all over the place lately and i have been using my 18° off the tee on my trouble holes. i dont play a 3 wood so this will kind of fill in that gap i have there. i looked at the g10 and slingshot today, neither was the loft im looking for but the g10 looks real nice to me. i didnt get to hit either one of them but i dont think anyone in town will have the loft and shaft i want so im probabaly gonna have to order one without hitting it first. im tryin to be patient and wait til i go to St Louis this weekend but im not sure if i can wait that long.

i should have gotten a baffler instead of my calloway but i got a good deal on it so i took it. i would get teh baffler 1h you are talkin about but i want a 15° or 14° im affraid 16° just wouldnt cut it for the distance i want.
-
i havent got to see one in person yet, does it have a ton of offset? big and bulky, or more like a players hybrid? what shaft did you get?
-
we rarely have demo days and people around here dont stock enough stuff for fittings. even if i got fitted, i could find it online for WAY cheaper so i usually just play standard stuff and it fits fine. are the slingshots long, distance wise? i dont want to get something i cant hit farther than my calloway 18°

What kind of wedges should I add to a 3-PW set?
c_mack9 replied to hackerdave's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
if you are gonna spend $100 on each wedge, get cleveland cg10 for $89. they are freakin awesome! i hit my 56° cg10 from every lie possible, i love that club. it is my money club from 50 yards in. -
im looking to fill another gap. i want a 15° hybrid that is easy to hit. i need a club that i hit longer than my calloway x-hybrid 2H. the problem is there isnt a lot of options in this loft. i would prefer a stiff graphite shaft cause i will use this club off the tee mostly. a 15° 3 wood would be ok if it has a short enough shaft, i get a little wild with longer shafted clubs. remember, easy to hit. please help.

What kind of wedges should I add to a 3-PW set?
c_mack9 replied to hackerdave's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
get a 50° gap wedge and 56° sand wedge and call it a day. best purchase i have made all year. if you end up getting one wedge get a 52° or 54° but i think you should get both of the ones i mentioned earlier. -
my glove wore out do i got a new one today. i couldnt hit ANY of my irons, i finally realized it was my new glove. i couldnt feel anything so i played the last 2 holes without it and have never hit my irons more beautifully in my life. im gonna try it again tomorrow, i hope my hands can hold up. weird thing is i hit my driver better with this new no feel glove for some reason.
-
HAHA!! i concur...
-
its 90° here too and i forgot my sweat towel. i played terrible today until the last 2 holes. oh well, i was just practicing for tomorrow.
-
i tried it again today after hitting my cavity backs. much better success. i got the ball in teh air after some careful practice swings and a very focused real swing. i really like hitting this blade. now im really itching to get mp-57s earlier than expected. i need a little forgivness but i love the way these mizunos look and feel.

I'm looking for a really light stand bag but:
c_mack9 replied to sonicblue's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i have an ogio bag, it is very light but doesnt have the 14 way top. it is made ofr walking, it has a bottle holder and the pockets are angled to be accessible while its on your back. may wanna look at ogios line. -

ahh crap, tgw was supposed to have theirs by now. i guess everyone waits like you do. i cant wait to hear your review. i would probabaly get one if the blade had a plumbers neck. -
i have no clue. my clevelands have the regular flex and this mizuno has s300 i think. how the crap do you hit blades off the turf? i chunked it a lot or hit it thin everytime. i tried slowing my swing down but that didnt help any. i hit it wonderfully off a tee but off hte ground was where it got ugly. im glad no one else was on the range.

order from somewhere else. -
yeah i agree. i am using it for practice only but i like the way it feels. ill figure out how to hit it over a long period of time.
-
i took it to the range today and was humbled very quickly. the first several balls i teed up and hit beautifully. i love the way the forged blade feels and the the way it looks and swings and every thing about it until i started attempting to hit balls off the ground. wow i suck at ball striking. i had success on half swing shots but nothing on full swing shots. im gonna keep at it cause i really want mp-57 in a year or 2. the last 15 balls or so i hit with my old 6 iron, i couldnt hit it after swinging the mizuno. everything felt wrong with my old irons so it kind of feels like i took a step backwards but it only makes me want to improve so i can get gamers irons now.

Ok, where do I get a vokey wedge from??
c_mack9 replied to fastfed's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
spin milled has a milled face that puts more spin on the ball. a wedge is one of the only clubs i would reccommend buying new. they are made of soft metals and especially having the spin milled face, i would want no use on it. an old wedge wont spin like a new one is what im tryin to say. happy hunting, everyone loves those wedges.
