  1. Still open in NC for now. I have league tonight and we just got the "shelter-in-place" order here. Non-essential businesses can stay open as long as they adhere to the social distancing rules which, I believe, most golf courses can achieve. I expect most to stay open for the duration.
  2. TS2 Hybrid and 3W. Replaced some (much) older clubs...
  3. Was a good year last year. Accomplished most of my goals but still work to be done! For this year: Work on fitness/flexibility. I have spent ZERO time on this and feel like it could be a big benefit for on (and off) the golf course. Increased GIR. Worked on the driver last year to great benefit. Need to turn that into more GIR/nGIR for better scores. Feel like the irons could be a lot sharper. Win Club Championship - would be back to back to back. 🙂 Play more CGA tournaments. Played first NC Mid-Am last year. Need to keep playing in these to push my comfort zone and competition experience.
  4. I don't mind noise as long as its constant. Even low conversations on the tee don't bother me. The two things that do are: Someone trying to hold a conversation with ME when I'm trying to hit a shot. I can't answer a question during my routine...or it's really hard. I have to stop and resume when I'm done. Music. Just not a fan. I think it's kinda like above...I'm one of those people who will mouth or whisper lyrics if I know the song. I start thinking of the song and whats coming next instead of the shot. It's hard for me to block.
  5. Hey Cody...congrats on the move! I wish I knew more about the area but I'm a bit more knowledgable about the area around Winston/Greensboro. I've only played a few courses that way...and all were a bit more expensive. If you ever get over my way, give me a shout and we can play either at my place or some other tracks nearby.

  7. Played in league last night. First round for me in a while (other than a captain's choice) Shot 34 (-2) with a new driver in the bag. Had one bad swing that resulted in a bogey but other than that hit the ball really well. Missed only one fairway and one green. The irons were excellent and the three birdies were all within 5 feet. Had a couple other realistic opportunities as well.
  8. Tuned in for an hour or so and really enjoyed watching. I thought the golf was great and, as others mentioned, loved seeing some new camera angles. The one putt Kupcho had on 15 from behind the green was hard to see the severe break. Fassi hit her chip right before and lost it long and right. They showed Kupcho's at ground-level and you could see how much break she needed to play. I think it's a great way to expose women's golf.
  9. Players: Justin Thomas (-13)Masters: Justin Rose (-15)PGA Championship: Dustin Johnson (-14)U.S. Open: Jason Day (-3)British Open: Tommy Fleetwood (-9)FedExCup: Dustin Johnson
  10. Agreed on all counts. My problem is that this isn't black and white...subjective to a "reasonable" amount of time. There could be many scenarios where one official might call a penalty and another would not.
  11. This. I'm sorry but you can't claim pace of play when you sit in the fairway agonizing over five variables and/or take minutes to line up a putt with a green book analyzing slope. If there is stricter enforcement, I guess there might be a problem evaluating when a person should mark their ball. What if I hit a 100 yard shot to 2 feet behind the hole and my partner is already lining up his chip from 20 yards away. Do I need to run to mark the ball for fear of penalty? What is a reasonable amount of time?
  12. If it's wacky like Tot Hill, count me out. If it's some of his earlier work or in the style like Caledonia or True Blue, I'm interested.
  13. Tot Hill Farms is the most quirky...Tobacco Road has a lot of weirdness to it as well but not as severe. I personally don't care for either of them all that much. Tobacco Road has its moments though. At least both of them (normally) are in good shape. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Goals for 2019: Get to and maintain + handicap for entire year. This is already trending in right direction from the end of last year to beginning of this year. Improve driving. Strokes gained is MUCH better on the approach (irons) side of things. Driving is very average and would like to improve consistency in both distance and accuracy Get to a positive strokes gained in Putting. It's my worst stat. I have improved after some bad putting rounds towards the end of the year. Changed my grip and things started clicking and have been putting well since. Need to commit to the new grip and start making more putts in the 5-15' range. Play in at least one of our CGA championships. Haven't in a long, long time. I feel good enough about my game to get out and play in one of these. Repeat club champion. 🙂
  15. LOL. It wasn't a knock on the company...you played well and was tired of seeing your name across from mine! 🙂
  16. Just realized that I will be traveling out to the Grand Canyon the Saturday/Sunday of the Masters. Not great planning on our part but hard to move our kids' spring break. Going to have to get my portable battery charger ready. 🙂
  17. I've been lucky to enjoy this competition more than once...the first one many, many moons ago. Erik and Mike did a great job last year putting this together at some awesome courses and added some excellent swag as well. You never know what to expect going into a golf trip never meeting anyone before but I have to say all the guys were great and would have absolutely no reservations on doing it again (except playing @DeadMan every round) and hope some new blood will get to enjoy this experience.
  18. That thing would have to get dropped from 50 feet to take damage. I was about to throw the box away and thought it might be a perfect fit. Our under-sink water filter could double as the trophy if need be. 🙂
  19. The Newport Cup is on its way to @cipher! I found a perfect box to protect the most valuable non-major trophy around.
  20. I wonder if LaCava will have a Poker Stars hat on or something else. It is Vegas. 😀
  21. My expectation with keeping a common scorecard or having to report my score is only: A tournament or A group game (i.e. skins) Other than that, I never expect (or really want) to have someone else keep my score.
  22. I've got it. It is resting comfortably at home on a shelf next to my Pinehurst collection. Appropriate since that was the area of its last tournament (and victory.) Hoping to take it to the scene of the 1974 PGA Championship (Tanglewood) where Lee Trevino held off Jack to win.
  23. I think most here have seen this article about Molinari's distance gain and how it helped him. Broadie even tweeted about it. Really good read.
  24. It was...after a smooth cutting driver off the tee. 191 6-iron uphill covered 484 yards (uphill) total. I would have been lucky to have hit Driver/4-iron and run it up there. 😀
