Played 18 after work & carded a 91!!!!! Didn't do so hot on the front 9 with a 50, but really managed to step it up on the back after I swapped drivers out & shot a 41. had no pars on the front but had 4 of them on the back along with 3 bogeys...we wont talk about the 3 double bogeys. Putting was decent & for some reason my chipping was awesome...to me anyways. I only had 3 holes where I had to chip twice & 2 of those were out of the sand....I was using a gap wedge since I currently dont have a SW & didn't feel like using the LW.

I prefer afternoons, mainly because I work till 2:00 pm & at that time most of the courses around me are rather dead.

Finally dumped the Acuity irons & picked up a set of Cleveland Launchers with the graphite shafts. These will last me until I hopefully get good enough where I don't need game improvement irons. But until then I am extremely happy.

I'm saying that I dont like them, obviously there are people out there who do like them since they seem to sell a lot of grips. Your opinion regarding them may be totally different. Go down to your local golf shop & see if they have some clubs with a few different brands of grips on them to find the ones you like.

I just installed some Winn's on my wifes clubs this past weekend. I don't like them & would never use them, feel way to soft & spongy. She likes them because they are soft & pink. I can't see anyway they would hold up very long with getting regular use.

I would agree with dumping the 3 iron, although Dent has a point about the SW also. Seriously how many times will a SW get used? I have used a LW, PW, even an 8 or 9 iron to get out of the sand, no real trick to it.

Shot a 47 on my home course but sure felt a lot worse. Greens were extremely fast & dry...in fact they aren't even green anymore but rather a nice shade of brown. 3 putted 3 holes so i'm not happy with that, but at least I was hitting my irons well. Extremely pleased with the Cleveland Launchers so far, distance surpasses my old clubs & they feel sweet when you connect properly.

I get dizzy just looking at the pic, glad you like it but there is no way I could ever play with something like that.

Definitely thanks. Now I understand the bounce deal & can understand why I am having a hard time with this club....it's all wrong for me & the course conditions I typically play at. I don't have a steep swing angle & the grounds around here tend to be very hard.

Great question & I would like to see it answered also in terms that a lay person can understand. What effect does low bounce have vs high bounce? I have a 60º lw with 12º b bounce & I too am having a heck of a time figuring that club out.

I have a stand bag but found out that I hated carrying it. Bought a pull cart & the stand bag wouldn't sit correctly on the cart so I went out & picked up a cart bag. Pulling my bag around is soooo much better than lugging the bag itself around, especially for 18 holes. The brand of bag you get is ultimately up to you, find something you like the looks of & has enough storage for all your stuff.

Hit the Golf Shack here in Madison & picked up a set of Cleveland launchers. I hit them well in the store & they just felt & looked right to me. I also considered the Cleveland CG4's, Tour Edge HP5's...I believe that's what they were, Nike Ignites, & Taylor Made Rac OS2's. Got the 4 thru DW set, the PW is a 45º & the DW is 50º. I have a Snakeyes 60º LW but nothing in between right now. Need to pick up a 55-56º SW & my set will be almost complete. Still need to find the right 3 wood, the current Adams is ok but just feels weird even when I hit it well.

That was so last year, next year he's going for the hat trick

Sorry, don't know anything about those 2. I picked up a Taylor made V-Steel 5 wood & it's a great club. Might want to give them a look?

I have Hot Shots golf 1-2 & Fore. All I play is Fore now days. I have Tiger Woods 07 but just can't get into it for some reason.

I bought my TM R7 460 online used obviously without ever hitting it. I test hit the Cleveland Halo 3 iron before I bought it but not the 4 iron. Gap wedge & Lob wedge were also bought without having been hit by me.

Which holes were 3 putted?

Pulled the best 9 hole rd I have ever had outta my butt somehow today. Shot a 41, had 4 G.I.R's which I managed to par everyone of them. Must have been a fluke day because lately I have been shooting 47-49.

I changed my mind after playing 9 holes today. Definitely would rather make every putt. When I compare that to making every G.I.R with todays rd, I would have saved 2 strokes by going with the putts.

I can understand Where Erik is coming from & certainly can see the better golfers choosing putts, but for those of us who have troubles even getting G.I.R, thats the way I would have to vote. Makes no sense to me to 1 putt if I took 4-5-6 shots to get to the green. I normally dont shoot anything over 2 putts anyways...well ok the occasional 3 putt will pop up every now & then. But I could hit every G.I.R & then 2 putt, that's scratch golf & even with a 3 putt thrown in every now & then it's still darn good.

Have been riding since I was 18, so that's 26 years now. Have owned a large variety of bikes over the years & currently have 3. 96 Harley Dyna Wideglide 01 Buell X1 04 Yamaha R1 And with a stand bag with the dual shoulder straps you can easily haul your clubs. I have done it many times, the furthest I have ridden with the clubs was 25 miles & it's no problem.

According to the PGA website, it's simply the total yardage divided by number of times a player used a driver. There are no 2 iron shots or other stuff included. I believe those numbers also include roll, nowhere have I seen a stat for PGA drive "carry". So the folks here who claim to carry it further than the PGA guys get even with roll are...........

You are going to continue with this charade of being to hit a 3 wood further than folks like Mickelson or Stricker can hit their driver?
