  1. Just go into the round with no expectations all your focus goes into the shot you are about to hit nothing else. Sounds cliche but it works.
  2. i must admit rife's do putt a incredible roll on the ball but they are just not for me.
  3. yea i herd they give you "super feel" on lag putts tho so much so that lag putt becomes a misnomer
  4. Look the only media to listen to is the golf channel when it comes to this kinda thing. Every other network has a bunch of idiots covering golf. Geoff imo is the only golfer on tour that can contend with Tiger at this moment in time. The reason i say that is becuase of the fact that he can putt.....lights out. He also is a great wedge player, Wedge play is probly the second most important thing when you want to win on tour. But one of his best qualities is that thing in between his ears. He has a great mental game and plays well under pressure. Anyone on tour can hit the ball far and straight and stripe their irons. But the guys who win have the head the wedge play and a hot putter end of story.
  5. Steroids can make you putt end of story.
  6. the flop shot should be your last resort. The reason I say this is because it is not good when you play a shot that has little to no margin of error along with the risk of a "skull" that will almost always put you in a spot that was worse than your last. My advice is to read the utley book on short game it helped me a great deal. And as far as a flop shot goes technique wise open the face along with your stance. The one swing thought i think of when i hit one is "Long and Lazy". This helps keep your tempo consistant witch is one of the most important things when it comes to pitching and "floping"/ Hope this helps, Chris
  7. What i find helps my spin controll is pure contact along with tempo. The reason i used the word tempo is beacause it is what i use to monitor or "feel out" the shot i am about to hit. When you strike it pure it will generate a lot of spin. So your touch along with a consistant tempo (for that peticular shot) is the way i controll my spin. It is a very hard concept to explain but once it is felt it will make perfect sense. Hope this helps, Chris
  8. I have tried a bettinardi mizuno putter and i was not a fan. But only for the sole reason that i did not like the way the insert felt. However the putter set up beautifully
  9. Driver-300 3-wood-220 Irons-900 Wedge(s) both 110 putter-200 total $1840 all thanks to one summer full of Looping
  10. There is nothing more personal in golf than a putter. So the answer is simply the one that rolls, feels and has a setup you like and are confident with
  11. Well it seams to me that TM had a nervous breakdown. And felt that they had to come out with stupid amount of equip. that is all the same thing. The r9 looks like the exact head as the r7 "limited". I've just never been able to hit Tm's techy crap they call drivers.
  12. i got a callaway x-forged c-grind wedge. and i love it my suggestion is get a 58 because the sole grind lets you open the face up with out rising the leading edge of the club.
  13. my advice to you is go to a golf shop with a nice used putter section. There are always great finds especially older ping putters that have great feel. Regardless of your choice just remember these three things when selecting a putter Feel,Roll and look at address if it fits those 3 you cant make a wrong choice.
  14. Imo SC putters along with pings are the only good putters left. Putting is all feel im tired of all of the tech putters. When ever i stroke with a ping or SC its pure not some putter the size of my driver with a ton of MOI
  15. i dont care what kind of grip as long as its cord
  16. yea 5.5 is jus a stock stiff flex. The whole idea behind the rifle shaft is it has no perferations (or like the dilerbrate dents in the shaft) i guess it makes it more consistant.
  17. tha kid can play but we all know that tiger is the best that ever walked the planet
  18. ryan moore is a cool dude endorsements or not the kid has a hell of a game
  19. just get a 58 with a sole grind so you can open the face problem solved
  20. i have the nike tour driver that tiger uses
  21. I envy all who are able to post in this thread. I need to move out west haha
  22. haha political humor......... yea i noticed my mistake a day after. As far as the you need an instructor goes although they help they are not completely necessary, all you need is a solid theory with some dedication and practice/repetition i mean that is how hogan developed the infamous 5 lessons. -Chris
  23. 150-Hard 9/soft 8 180-7/ iron
  24. did u play the forged cci's?
  25. three words i should say god i am a idiot lol
