  1. I had a blast spending the week at chambers! Ran to the airport to get back to CO and was missing the end of the tourney but managed to catch DJ three putt then ran into jimmy walker who said the greens were absolutely terrible! I'm Bummed chambers didn't impress because it truly is an amazing course to play.
  2. This course is very fun to play. Chambers can be frustrating but if you are hitting your spots it's a real joy. I'm here now and the course looks (and feels) much better in person than on TV.
  3. I was lucky enough to be accepted as a volunteer this year. I also have played the course many times so this will be a very memorable USO for me! Oh and I can avoid the messy traffic by biking from my grandparents house a few miles away. The weather won't be an issue. It can be windy anywhere on the sound and will likely drizzle but it shouldn't get nasty by any means.
  4. Is Ferguson actually Gilberg? Something smells a little fishy...
  5. I just finished Steven Erikson's Malazan series. IMO far better the A Song of Ice and Fire, Dragonlance or any other Epic Fantasy series I have read.
  6. I agree, 83 is not bad for a high single digit handicapper. I have never played Pebble nor have I ever been a 3 hdcp but I would think (and could be very wrong) that a 3 would be in the 70s on that course more often than not.
  7. I am really hoping he will post a scorecard. I think it more likely that he will just gloss over the bad holes and focus on the almost birdies...
  8. I will gladly trade the possibility of being snowed out for a week (although that seems like an exaggeration) for the 6 months of soggy messy shit fairways that I currently get. I love Washington but the fall/winter/spring season is growing old. I think I'll listen to Club rat and Fourputt when it comes to CO weather! Also golf is not the only reason to live... So having mountain access, fly fishing, and whatever other outdoor activities one could imagine helps offset the handful of times I won't be able to play!
  9. Awesome! Thanks for the input! I can't deny the appeal of gaining a little distance... Sea level and wet aren't exactly the best recipe for big pokes! I am more excited to potentially play year round without the plugging and slogging through the mud!
  10. Well that sure is a handy site! Thanks again. I'll have to get my bearings and treat you to a round for the kindness!
  11. Much appreciated! Coming from Washington I am used to heavily treed courses with plenty of elevation change. My assumption is courses on the west side less flat and therefore more what I am accustomed to. Is that correct? Google earth only shows so much...
  12. After 35 years in the soggy Pacific Northwest I am going to try something different. The wife and I have decided to move to Denver (area). I am really looking forward to living somewhere that the ball won't plug three months out of the year. I would greatly appreciate any advice on where to play. I have never spent any time in Denver but it looks like there are a ton of great options. We are thinking of living on the west side, somewhere around Arvada or Pleasant hill...
  13. Maybe I should invite him to come up to Washington to play Chambers bay with me and my playing partner (who is a legitimate 2 and plays decent tourney golf). I as an 11 struggle with Chambers. It would be interesting to see if he accepted for one and who's score he would be closer to, mine or Jake's... I also think it would be good to see how he compares to the pros who will be there this summer. If he is truly broke I might have to pay for him and give him a place to stay. Not sure if I could handle the guy for 24 hours.
