  1. I won't knock any golf ball, regardless of make or price. I made a bet with a friend last year that I could shoot within two strokes of my normal with any ball he could find in the woods (within reasonable condition). He found an older TopFlite XL 2000 extra distance and I shot my two strokes - worse. I've hit a D2 Feel and liked the softness, but haven't played a round with it. Balls have come a long way since I played TopFlite XL's and Ultra's in high school, but I think if you have a good swing and are a good ball striker, you can score with anything.
  2. They have been a consistent, durable product for decades with a great reputation. Just a great company.
  3. I grew up with Jack (late 70's and 80's Jack), and he's my favorite. I can't dismiss Tiger's greatness and what he has accomplished in his career to date. Definately the greatest I have ever seen.
  4. Got to be the 52 for me, my money wedge. Exclusive for me inside 115.
  5. Actually have two bags. The SM C-130, and a Nicklaus stand bag when I walk. The 130 has plenty of compartment space, and great dividers. Sweet bag...
  6. I've used a FootJoy glove forever. Never occurred to me to try anything else...
  7. Some come here to ask questions and hopefully have them answered. Why bash?
  8. Agreed with Clubswinger. I have Flighted Rifle 5.5 in my irons and they play slightly softer than DGS300's to me. Proper fitting and demo's are the only way to go....
  9. Titleist. I've had my 975 18.5 for three years now and like it, great workability. Same goes for my 906F4 13.5, which I got last fall. Great off the deck, tee shots took some getting used to due to the low profile.
  10. I got the Redwood Piper S last fall, and it kicked my Odyssey 2-Ball Blade out of the bag. Looking forward to this season with it. Steel, face balanced and milled to perfection. Put a Tiger Shark grip on it, and I'm rolling.
  11. Proforce V2 for me. The low torque gives me the stability that I need with my swing speed and how I load the club. I agree that it feels "boardy" to a degree like some others have said, but that's how I like it, so it's all personal preference. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
  12. I play mostly Pro V1's. I think the feel off the irons and spin around the greens are unmatched. My problem is I seem to have a hard time controlling them off the tee at times. If it's a windy day, I'll play the Pro V1x, due the lower ball flight and more penetrating trajectory, or I'll also play the Pinnacle Exception. If they could ever come up with a ball that is soft as butter and spins around the greens, but has no spin off the driver I'll be first in line....
  13. I have never copied anyone's swing or even tried to. The only thing I've copied is Hogan's grip. I studied it as a kid and adopted it.
  14. Unless I hit my drive on the screws for 270 I'm not reaching it. If I do get it 270, I figure I got to rock my second shot at least 250-260 to get it to the front. Not an easy task, for me anyways...
  15. My club pro about three years ago talked a kid into standing out in the middle of a fairway and flag where exactly his tee shots landed, and took the average out of twenty or so. I guess that's the only way to know for sure....
  16. Laura Diaz has always been my favorite.....
  17. Well considering the high % of golf that is played inside of 100 yds. then that's my answer. I would take a perfect short game over anything, any day of the week.
  18. Driving is all relative. It's no secret that scoring in golf occurs inside 100 yds., so I don't worry about it. I can only carry around 230 off the tee with a swing speed of around 105. I know a guy who hits it well past me and I beat him regularly. It's who can get up and down and who can putt that distinguishes the men from the boys.
  19. My goal is to break 75. Got to 76 three times last summer, and felt it could have been lower. A handicap around 5 would be a definate goal also.
  20. Try a weighted club. I posted this in another thread that the Momentum club I purchased about 6 years ago has done wonders for me - if you take the time to swing it almost daily. It increased my distance and swing speed, not to mention it's cool to pick up a club and have it feel light as a feather.
  21. I've had a 9.5 forever, but plan on getting fitted for the first time in a couple of weeks. Will change in a heartbeat if need be.
  22. I have a C-130 since last summer, and found it works on some pull carts and not others. It depends on the cart -- sorry not much help. I love the bag, though, it offers sizeable individual club slots and a seperate putter slot. Plenty of storage space, and it looks good.
