  1. From last week. Hit a bomb, lots of roll, 285. Had about 240 to the front, lots of bunkers. Decided to layup, took too little club and hit it in a bunker. Had 75 yards to the pin, green elevated. Hit it straight at the flag, heard it land, hit the pin, it sounded as if it went in. Ended up 6 feet from the flag. Missed the putt.
  2. I wanted to add something about taking lessons. I think someone mentioned it before too. Find a good instructor, try to find some reviews maybe even youtube videos. When you do find one, tell him you are not looking for a patch, you want to really build a solid swing that will allow you to shoot lower scores. I did that, and even though I feel like I should be a single by now, I am very satisfied with my progress at 11. Good luck. :)
  3. Play in the early spring in the Midwest and you learn your distances fairly quickly (together with using a rangefinder). Every shot, including a drive, either plugs, or makes divot and hops a foot forward. (I assume nobody from the "How long is your drive" thread has ever played in these conditions. No more 270-290 carries haha). This has definitely helped my game, as good as a GPS is, which I use together with a rangefinder, my distances were never dialed in as good as with me using the laser.
  4. Personal best. Followed by a 96 the next day :~(
  5. I don't see myself hitting a driver there. Out of bound on both sides, long second shot if I wanted to go for the green. Even if you had 200 yards left, you will miss the green more often than not. Hit whatever you are comfortable off the tee, 4i/hybrid/wood. Layup with whatever you feel like, and hit 3rd on the green hopefully. Not a 2 shot hole b/c of the out of bounds/water/dogleg.
  6. That is actually a great idea. I shall do that.
