  1. Me too. If i manage to turn my shoulder behind the ball, it means i completed my backswing. If i don't, i means i just dragged my hands and arms inside with no shoulder turn. Ill end up reversing my pivot when i do this and stub the club in the ground on the way back down.
  2. I bet you feel enormously sorry for him. How bout lending tiger a helping hand, then?
  3. Or sinkin birdies and chicks....
  4. This happened to me last wednesday. Almost identical situation. I called the pro-shop and they sent the pro out in a cart to resolve it. I got my ball back on the next hole.
  5. Yeah...that seems a little weird. An OTT move is usually back down, though it starts with the backswing. Maybe you're just spinning yourself out, and not realizing it?
  6. The dude also doubles as the starter, and alot of players have had problems with him. He works for free (only gets playing privileges) so its hard to ask for a firing. Whats even more scary is that he been a marshall at several state am events. The ruling made no sense to me, but i was too frustrated to argue. I posted my correct score this afternoon and plan to confront him on the ruling this weekend.
  7. Now he can get back to chasing tail and winning tourneys.
  8. I was down by three going into the last hole in a club tourney yesterday. Par 5, around 525. I have about 230 to the front edge and a front pin. Deep bunkers protect the green on both sides and the run up area to the green is narrow. So i pull out my 17 hybrid (no other choice really) and hit a good shot. It took some kind of weird forward bounce and the ball ends up rolling through the green into the greenside rough. I choked from there and ended up with only a par. The dude in first made a birdie anyway, so a eagle for me wouldn't have mattered. But it was a tough shot, and i sorta pulled it off.
  9. About the same for me. Im on pace to post around 45-50 rounds this season.
  10. I dunno, i think he finished 4th or 5th gross. He finished second net, though. As tight as that old guy is i don't think you could shove a needle up his rear.
  11. It didn't effect the outcome, i still finished 3rd. But still i thought it was a little outrageous.
  12. I thought as such, that didn't make any sense to me. I think he misread the rule and thought of equipment and clubs as being the same. I will challenge him on this ruling when i see him this weekend. I have this book with a list of noted rulings and couldn't find anything on it with regards to equipment penalties. Matter of fact, the only way it seems you can get penalized with your equipment is when it is hit with a ball.
  13. This weekend i was playing in a club tournament. I was in the final group battling for the win. I fell a few shots short. But anyway, during the round i put my umbrella in a competitors cart. (i was walking) Since i put my umbrella in the cart, then that cart now becomes apart of my equipment. I understand that. During the round, the windshield from his cart falls off and he doesn't repair it, puts it in the back, and drives on. We complete the round and the old idiot rules dog there gives the guy a two stroke penalty for playing the round with altered equipment, and since my umbrella was in the cart, i got the penalty too. Was this a justifiable penalty? It seems mindbogglingly ridiculous. I searched through the ruling book later on that night and couldn't find anything of the sort. The penalty didn't effect the outcome in anyway, and we were both already frustrated, so we didn't argue. I just want to know for posting purposes.
  14. Fairways, greens and two putts is how i usually "go low" Which for me is around par. I probably average less than two birdies a round. Well done on the round. Remember that mindset you were in so that you dont get scared of success next time youre having a good round.
  15. My instructor bought a k15 driver and plans to use it in his sectional PGA tourneys. He is that found of it. Not too sure how titleist is going to feel about that..but whatever..
  16. Oh just hit the damn ball and sort out the rest later...lol.
  17. Nah, not really. Its still generally the same shot. Open it up and accelerate. The only way you will blade it is if you flip your hands. The ball will likely shoot out lower, and that is an adjustment you have to make over a normal bunker shot. The 60/7 would probably be a better club for that scenario. I use a 58/12 for nearly all my green side bunker shots. In that type of hard packed wet sand, i usually just take a more aggressive and steep swing.
  18. 13. The crotchety old starter who thinks he is god.
  19. The greenside bunker shot is the easiest shot in the game, IMO. You dont have to hit the ball... Just some things for a run of the mill 10-15 yd bunker shot.... Open the face...when you think its open enough, open it up some more. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce is your friend. wide stance (shoulder length) and hands lower than normal. weight forward - I like to kink in my right knee a little so i dont sway. accelerate- I dont think the length of the backswing is critical, just do not stop at the ball and NO FLIPPING YOUR HANDS! Hold it off it you have too. And POOF! The ball comes out. Hooray! Make the putt and collect your sandy winnings.
  20. Any clean lie and open line is bread and butta for me, regardless of the yardage is.
  21. Tiger is gumby. I think i would tear myself in half if i made a turn like that..lol.
  22. That sounds like it hurts...lol. But no, i dont do that. Both my feet are slightly flared open at address. I like to stay loose and free.
  23. It might be, but i think that model has a pretty good amount of toe flow. If you fancy yourself a strait back and through putter then a face balanced model would be better.
