  1. In hindsight, its easy to say this or that. And hindsight says that DJ was in fact standing in a bunker and shouldn't have grounded his club. But during the moment that in no way appeared to me that it was a bunker or even a waste area. It just looked like a trampled down piece of land. With the crowd so closely packed DJ or his caddy likely had little situational awareness. Putting myself in the situation, i would read that as hardpan, and then move on to concentrate on how i'm going to win this tournament. Its was just a tough break for him. Call it rub of the.... whatever...lol
  2. That looks pretty solid to me. Just need to get those hands a couple more inches forward before you turn through.
  3. These threads, along with the distance threads are always the most amusing to me on this board. Of course, everyone is free to use what they want. But from experience, i rarely see better players using blades. If i do, they are older (like 40+). MB's are great for players who like to control trajectory and ballflight, but im sorry to say unless you're on tour or an elite +4 amateur, you cant do that to the level that warrant a blade iron. Maybe its a generational thing or just plain inflated ego, but with todays CB's there is no reason for mid-handicaps to be using blades (the main group of golfers i see playing MB's). I might end up using MB's one day, who knows. But until i have a need for them in my game, ill take the forgiveness that cb's offer.
  4. Yesterday i hit a 4i cut shot under, over, and around a low hanging tree in front of me and knocked it to about 4 feet from the pin - and planned to hit it that way. I had about 175-178 i think. One of the best shots ive ever hit.
  5. I think one of the stupid spectators throwing the trash everywhere should have informed johnson that he was standing in a bunker..lol
  6. I disagree. Can you name a player better than tiger right now without looking up a bunch of stats on a website? Its hard. If i have to pick between a pedestrian performing tiger and a bunch of pedestrian US tour pros, im going with tiger.
  7. I guess what pavin has to decide is, "are there 4 US players better than tiger who aren't on the team already?" I would say no, but anything can happen. I expect Fowler, Tiger and O'Hair to get invites, but after that i dont know.
  8. I would never pay to play at these clubs. If im invited, thats another thing. But im not supporting a business that will eventually close the doors to the same people that helped sustain it once things get better.
  9. Tough break for Johnson, it is what it is. But if anyone says they would have known it was a bunker that Johnson was standing in, they are lying.
  10. It feels that way to me, sometimes. I got to where i am now relatively quickly, and even though i feels like i am a better player than i was a few years ago, my scores on average are probably only 2 strokes lower. At the most. I still feel i have alot of room to improve to scratch or better, but progress comes more slowly now.
  11. It seems like he is choking down on the driver some too. I didnt notice if he was doing it with other clubs, or not.
  12. Even though im a mets fan, its sad to see him go. If indeed that is it for his career. He is probably the most love/hated opposing player in mets history. But at least he went out making a gangsta ass defensive play.
  13. Yeah. If you practice regularly, you get better without really noticing. Its kind of like a slow trickle.
  14. No, i haven't found that if one part of my game improves, that others suffer. I dont really have a frame of reference with improvement curve vs handicap, but for me, my improvement in the game was rapid in the first 2 years. I broke par in the middle of my second or third year. Im still getting better with the game, but since my first few years, the improvements have been subtle and slow.
  15. Not surprising a reporter that works for BSPN made up a story.
  16. Function is more important than style when im looking for golf apparel. Ill wear any make ( i have addais and nike stuff down to pebble beach brand) but it has to fit and do what i want it to do. Which is keep me comfortable when i play.
  17. I just nuke my irons off of hard, tight lies. I love em.
  18. ummm, i guess. I just found it amusing that tiger got slammed for not disclosing injuries and the reactions to phil's thing has been a bunch of awww's and puppy dog eyes.
  19. This just shows Mickelsons poor character and its obvious he doesn't care about the fans because he didn't disclose this condition sooner....
  20. I do this at times too, but when i do it i hit a shank. Its really just a tempo thing, slow down.
  21. I agree, his swing doesn't look all that bad too me. It seems like more of a tempo thing with him. I don't think he needs a full time coach, per sea, but at least somebody to bounce idea's off of. I dont know who Foley is, but perhaps he is that guy.
  22. I hit my driver in that range, and i dont swing anywhere near that fast..lol. Im between 105-110. Ironically though, i swing my 3 wood closer to 115. Go figure.
  23. Tiger needs to get back on his game off the golf course. Start huntin down some waitresses. He seemed to do fine when he was jugglin ho's all over the place.
