  1. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR driver! Jordan Spieth -5 Adam Scott -5 Justin Rose -5
  2. Welcome to the forum mate!
  3. It seems like there is a "national something day" everyday. This one seemed to be relevant. If you're lucky enough to hit the links today, I'm quite jealous. It's absolutely beautiful weather where I'm at!
  4. Just updated my bag 13/14 (excluding my putter) this year and have seen a 2-3 stroke improvement in my game after I got used to the new Irons which is exciting! See signature.
  5. I recently purchased a Big Bertha Alpha from rippedgolf1 on Ebay. I made sure to look at his feedback before purchasing and it seemed to check out. I got the brand new driver in and was extremely excited, and quite frankly- wanted to show it off. I played 2 round with it, and hit one range session where I let a couple of friends and a coupe of strangers hit it. Everything seemed to be fine until the 3rd round I played. On #2, the club head went flying and my morale was ruined the rest of the round where I eventually stopped taking score it was getting so ugly (although I did get quite a bit of work done with my 3 wood.) I proceeded to call Callaway to verify authenticity and they informed me that they did not keep a database of serial numbers as that would be no good. The representative said I had 2 options- Send it to them to verify and it would not be warrantied, or take it to my local golf shop and see what they could do for me. So I walk into my local Golf USA and go talk to the equipment technician. We look at some prices and I am just about ready to drop $120 on a shaft and grip to get the club head back on the course when right before, I ask if we could confirm that it is real before I drop more cash on a fake club. They end up calling Callaway again and before I can explain that I have already called them and they sent me Golf USA's way... They have another $250 Fubuki ZT shaft sent my way in 5-7 business days! No questions asked. Now I heard the GUSA associate tell the Callaway rep that I had purchased it on Ebay from a non-verified seller and I had been told previously that it was not warranted... but either I got a "new guy" or he just didn't hear that small yet very important detail... or Callaway is just that good with their customers and offers excellent service. Any thoughts or previous experiences with Callaway or anything like this?
  6. Matias Dominguez just had an ace on #4 in the par 3 contest. He is from my school, Texas Tech! Way to represent!
  7. I agree. Everywhere you find them, 20 for 2 dozen. They are straight off the tee and will stick a green even off of my 3 wood. The feel of them isn't the best, but for performance on a budget, I don't believe there is any better ball.
  8. But wouldn't it have been awesome to witness an undefeated team win a championship?? I mean that hasn't happened since '75-'76? Could have used one of those in my lifetime. Especially with how young of a team they were. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Kentucky fan... but magical seasons like that are few and far between.
  9. I was around 8 or 9 as well, when I was on the range with my friend who was less experienced in golf than myself. He was hitting my clubs and I was eagerly watching him from the club side and just slightly in front of him. He proceeded to hit a shank that landed right between the eyes. It knocked me to the ground and I was quite dizzy for a minute or two. I had a lump on my forehead that turned every color in the book from yellow to black for the next two weeks. Lesson learned about standing "slightly in front" of people while they are hitting.
  10. Heard a new one yesterday. A "Monica Lewinsky" ("All lip and no hole" when people ask lol) - A lipped out putt
  11. Just announced! Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Adam Scott for the first two rounds. What a threesome!
  12. I actually heard a guy call this a "rabbit raper."
  13. I say yes. But! This is because, my usual range session has been the exact same since I started hitting range balls. Start with my sand wedge, approach, pitching, 9,8, etc.... when I start getting to my 5,4,3,3w, and into my, lately, banana ball driver. This is probably due to a combination of- 1. The fact that I struggle with said 5,4,3,3w,driver 2. Fatigue I usually hit "a big bag" which is usually around 60-70 balls. I also, on my last ball, pull out my sand wedge, talk myself up in my head like I am approaching #18 at Augusta in contention of the leader board. Trying to put some "made up pressure" per se. I then aim for the closest flag, usually getting close so it is a nice end to the session, or at least a satisfying feeling to drive home on.
