  1. Midway - Par. Fine performances from a well stacked cast. Never boring nor slow, yet it still seems to be missing that little thing that makes a good film great. Ed Skrein didn't wow me as the male lead, but he was still decent.

Well crap, Tampa is still partying, and the Oilers next season is already looking gloomy. McDavid just tested positive for the 'Rona, and the teams closest thing to a number one d-man reportedly has an arthritic shoulder. Business as usual...
  3. @khalespace, if you haven't checked this site out already, do so. It's an easy home run for resources with a good membership base. Also, although I have neither the Mevo+ nor the Skytrak yet, from what I've learned the Mevo requires a fair bit of space to be used. Skytrak has a three or four second delay after each shot, which turns a lot of people off. And if you haven't finished your garage yet, it may be a good idea to plan ahead for some of the requirements you'll need. I finished my garage two years ago with a simulator being the end goal , (well that and heating the damn thing), a couple of things I regret not doing is having my electrician switch my light setup to a dimmer function, and in hindsight I wish I would have paid a bit more and went with some noise dampening drywall and insulation. Now I'm looking at mounting a metric shit ton of acoustic panels, which will be no fun at all. I'm no expert in this by any means, just a dude who's been where you are. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
  4. I'm building a simulator in my garage. It's about 40% done, although I still haven't ordered my Skytrak yet. Aside from practicing with that, I want to do a lot more yoga this winter.
  5. And a lot of familiar names that you recognize, yet wouldn't choose. I'm looking at you, Hunter Mahan.
  6. Speaking from experience, missing weeks is not a good thing.
  7. What I find very inspiring is that he made probably eight or so films in the past four years while silently battling the disease. I also saw a picture of him from a video chat a couple of months back, and he looked very, very thin. I really enjoyed the James Brown biopic he did a while back. Tonight I might check out Da 5 Bloods, or possibly rewatch his guest appearance from season four of Fringe. Anyways, feel free to choke on a big ol' dick, cancer.
  8. I watched all of season one a while back. It wasn't great, but after a few episodes you can't help but be sucked in. Ralph Macchio is still not the greatest actor in the world.
  9. After reading this thread I won't bitch about the $450 I pay for trail fees at my course.
  10. Lovecraft Country came out Sunday. I'm getting a little bit of a Twin Peaks vibe in this one, as I have a vague idea what's going on, but if asked about it I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to explain it. But, that opening scene, sheesh. Just about made me want to call my dealer to see if my last bag was laced with angel dust...

Ah well, at least the Oilers have a 12% chance at the first overall draft pick.

Glad to see the Oilers bounce back from a putrid game one. The team is doing an online 50/50 draw during the post season. Game one the total pot was nearly 750K. I bought $40 worth of tickets this morning, and have watched the pot grow from 100K to over 3.1 million. Half of that would be awesome. Hell, I'd settle for 5 or 10 percent!

I'm just glad hockey is back, to be honest. As for the draft, well, it's been messed up for a while now. One more year of clusterf***ery won't ruin it for me.

Playoffs begin on Saturday, in case you were wondering.

It was a very different feel to last nights exhibition games. I miss the noise the most, but the empty arenas seem somewhat creepy. Anyhoo, I'm glad the Oilers beat the Flames, even if the goalies had to bail the team out after the let off the gas after the first period.
  16. I picked up my current driver from a preowned site and it was an inch shorter than normal. I have hit some of my best drives with this thing, although I'm not consistent enough with my swing to always take advantage of it.
  17. I finished both seasons of Counterpart a week or so ago. I found it very enjoyable. Currently finishing up the first season of Preacher in hopes that Amazon Prime Canada finally puts out the final one.
  18. I found Greyhound to be a bit of a mixed bag. I really enjoyed the tension during the battle scenes, but the more quiet moments felt like big parts were missing from them or left on the editing room floor. To me, they seemed slightly incomplete. Also, RIP to one of my childhood crushes Kelly Preston. Gorgeous lady, and I wish she would have made more movies over her career.
  19. Ford Vs Ferrari. Birdie. I don’t find racing that interesting, but every once in a while one of these movies comes along that I’m totally entertained with.
  20. Very sad news, indeed. Festivus will be extra special this year.
  21. If my home course ever gets clearance to golf, this is what I see happening there. The owners / managers are okay by my standards, but I can't see them adhering to a strict set of rules. Plus, I've never seen anyone pretending to be a marshall on the course in the ten years I've been golfing there, and I doubt they can afford to add extra staff to monitor even half of the playable holes. Speaking of which, there's a creek that runs through said course, and it floods at the beginning of each season with the snow melt. This year there's some extra flooding going on, and the pictures they've shown are about as bad as I've seen it. Not that it will be a huge issue, despite an online petition, our health minister person in charge has not deemed golf essential yet. And part of me is thankful for that, because with the way I see how people behave in relation to COVID while I'm at work doesn't inspire any confidence that golf would be any better.
  22. The Lighthouse. Par. Its more of a thriller than a horror, I think? Willem Dafoe and that guy from Twilight are really good in this. Not so scary in my mind, but still a creepy show.
  23. I've watched the first two episodes. I like it so far. That twist at the end of episode two sets up things nicely.
  24. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvcX0Ef9KUQ Very sad to hear Adam Schlesinger passed away from COVID today. I absolutely adored their first two albums.
  25. Dragged Over Concrete. Bogey. Overly long Mel Gibson / Vince Vaughn flick that has one or two extremely gory moments. Not a horrible movie, but there’s a lot of time spent listening to the two leads while they sit in a car on a stakeout.
