  1. Great info Dave. I wish I could go bigger but in an apartment I'm really stuck on space. As you mentioned I think it'll really help from 8 feet and in
  2. Just ordered the 9x2 putting green. That size is probably the biggest i can go. Wanted something better than just a piece of cloth, but not hundreds of dollars. I've read mixed reviews on the product. Anyone with experience with the birdieball practice greens?
  3. Went to pga in paramus last night. Messed around for an hour and a half on the putting green. Had a 100 dollar gift card to blow so was seriously considering upgrading my putter. Loved the feel of the odyssey metal x two ball. Got it for under 100 so very happy

I I have another thread here: http://thesandtrap.com/t/72090/myrtle-beach-late-february#post_942055 Basically looking for any tips suggestions etc on MB, how legends is, course conditions, rent a car or pay for transportation. First time down there so very excited

The Short Game Movie on NetFlix in December

Saw it last night. Awesome documentary. I was rooting hard for Jed. Also got the vibe that a lot of these parents push these kids a bit too hard. I told my gf we should watch and she basically said "no not another golf thing" played the trailer and she begged that we watch it. Awesome watch for even non golfers

Who Do You Normally Play Golf With????

My younger sisters boyfriend (surprise surprise) haha....he is hardcore into golf, but pretty much stinks. Not that I'm that much better. We both really got into golf this past summer, and he would play way more than me. He'd probably play or atleast hit the range 4 times a week. He still has yet to beat me lol Other than him, usually play alone after work, sometimes with my girlfriends parents
  7. Oh and one last thing, especially for the poster above me...many complain about the bulk w hard cases. On my one and only trip w my clubs, I'm lucky I didn't have a hard case. Back seats were occupied so couldn't throw my clubs in there. Trunk was so small. Luckily my club glove could fold up, clubs go in the trunk, and I pack the bag when I get to the airport.
  8. I'm relatively a noob when it comes to golf and golf travel. I've traveled once w my clubs (but have a trip planned next month, and plan on bringing my clubs w me whenever I travel in the future). Before my trip I was debating on what to buy. Hard cover vs soft cover, cheap vs more expensive etc etc. I bit the bullet and went w a club glove. I had a coupon code for a free stiff arm also, which helped a tad w the cost. I think I ordered through them directly. My clubs got to and from my destination without a scratch. As many will tell you, this bag will last ten years and has a warranty (don't know the details off the top of my head). If you by cheaper most likely you'll end up replacing your clubs due to damage or the bag due to wear and tear. I like the club glove since it gives me confidence knowing my clubs will be safe. Just my two cents. Ps since club glove is such a good product, I could probably put this bag on craigslist and make up the difference between it and a cheaper bag. I think spending more is worth it in this case

What clubs to add to my bag?

Thank you both for the responses. And I may have phrased my wedge comment incorrectly...a lot of what I read basically said for a higher handicap player it might be more beneficial to add a hybrid opposed to a wedge that is a difficult club to hit, and not used as often. A putter is used every hole so finding the perfect fit for you could help your scores tremendously compared to an additional wedge. I've played off and on since I was probably 13. Hadn't played for probably 5 years until this past summer where I was really into it. I'm 25 btw. All summer I was hitting balls at the range or course after work atleast once a week, sometimes twice, and playing once on the weekends. So I would consider that a good amount. I plan on continuing that once the weather warms up. I've never received a lesson (well once when I was 14 lol). I know lessons would probably be the best idea. And the money for the club is funded from a Christmas gift card (thanks ma). Beginning of the summer I was hovering around 105 for 18 holes, and by seasons end I was shooting low mid 90s. So I've definitely seen improvement in my game. I mentioned before a clean drive would be about 220 or so. I guess a gap would exist between 5wood and 5hybrid. A longer hybrid could be a good choice. And again, also thinking of grabbing a new putter instead. Thanks guys

    Myrtle beach - late february

Thanks rayg....60s 70s would be amazing. I'm used to playing my local public courses, which aren't terrible. I would think that these should be better courses than what I typically play, even if they aren't among the MB elite. Not too worried about the lodging, as long as it's atleast clean. I read you can get a shuttle to and from the airport. Anyone have experience staying at the legends on what is best (shuttle vs rental car) I imagine the resort itself is pretty spread out with 3 courses, so depending on where your condo is located walking to the course entrance could be pretty far, especially with clubs.
  11. Thanks for reading my thread, I've golfed off and on a few years now but really ramped it up last summer. I was using some really old sticks for awhile, so upgraded w a purchase of the adams tight lies set. I really like the feel of these irons, and I hit the driver pretty well. I usually shoot in the mid to high 90s, my goal by the end of the upcoming golf season is to break 90. My driver could use some work, but a good drive for me is probably around 215 yards. I feel like putting is one of my strong suits that I could really hang my hat on if I devoted some serious practice time. For some reason I feel like I have a pretty good feel for green speed and break, without taking 5 minutes before my putt lining it up. Here's a link to my current setup; http://www.adamsgolf.com/products/sets/tight_lies_2013.php# I have the basic tight lies set (the blue set, one hybrid, 6-sw). Was thinking of adding a wedge but most threads on the forum seem to go against this idea. A hybrid could be a good option, but also seriously considering upgrading my putter. I have a pga store closeby and was gonna go and try out different putters until one feels the best. Any thoughts are appreciated!
  12. Hey guys, hoping for some thoughts on a golf weekend myself and few friends are going on next month. For me, my first trip solely for golf purposes. Heading to the legends resort the weekend of the 21st. I've seen mixed reviews on the place. Most of the negatives focus on the pace of play, which I don't think is a huge concern for my group. I usually shoot low 90s, a couple usually around 95-100, and one shoots 85-90. Not professionals by any stretch so don't think pace is a big deal. Planning on playing the three courses at legends each day. How are they? Again I've seen mixed reviews. My big concern is the weather. I'm in NJ so hoping to get some favorable golf weather down there but realize it can be just as cold there as it is up here at that time of year. Any comments tips etc are appreciated. Once I figure out which courses we play each day ill post it. Thanks!
