  1. The guidance is that you can go back to normal minus certain activities like air travel where you might be closer quarters with potentially infected people. There is also very little risk, per the research, that even if you are infected that it would be serious or you would spread to others. Very good news for people with young kids. my wife and I are taking it slow nonetheless. We are going to see where the numbers are before we go back to the gym, but things are looking good.
  2. Couple of people I know have trouble with getting child card and are worried they’ll be too wiped from the after effects and there might be people who are worried about losing hourly wages. The people I know in that case are taking it seriously, wearing masks and distancing, etc…. For some time I think we should not let up as we need to protect those who want the vaccine but haven’t been able yet. after that, it really comes down to the fact that we need to get as many people vaccinated as possible and everyone needs to get onboard for the good of all. and it’s good to be a curmud
  3. I agree only because there is some segment of the population who probably have issues taking the time for the shot and then the potential time off, and I think that the mandates should continue. Although at some point we will only be dealing with people who won’t get vaccinated, as opposed to those who have had problems scheduling it. however the underlying reasoning is sound. Unvaccinated people seem to not need them, per the research, and people who are resistant are causing problems with the mandates. This doesn’t mean that individual businesses and indoor places can’t require mask
  4. Personally I’d prefer to have a rule that says you can remove from a divot, but it’s completely impractical to come up with a definition of when you can/cannot take relief. Better to learn how to get out of the situation with a club as it lies with the least possible damage. you can also end up with uneven lies in the fairway. Tight lies, etc. Blocked out by trees.... so even the fairway itself may not be ideal in some places. I think a lot of the thinking is that hitting the fairway should be a reward, yet I often get nice teed up lies in the rough. Shouldn’t the
  5. When I lived up north, we had three storms in quick succession and by the second one you had to do shifts, otherwise you couldn’t even get a handle on it. That was the time I was speaking to my neighbor over the snow that was being shoveled and the only reason I knew she was there was seeing her shovel at it’s highest point when shoveling. It was well over 6 feet
  6. I feel like when I used to caddy I would hear stories from other clubs where if you showed up with too heavy of a bag, the club would have lighter bags and put what you needed for your round in the lighter bag.
  7. Based on both of their reputations I would trust Kostis over Reed. I don’t know everything about either of them, but I’ve not heard anything that tells me Kostis is a liar. Plus there are the allegations from his college days. Plus the fact that Reed, to my knowledge, has never even tried to understand why people might have this opinion of him. if I was under scrutiny I wouldn’t touch my ball at all without being super, super careful. I’d want to prove to people I wasn’t pulling anything. If this was the only thing with him, I can’t see anyone having an issue with what he d
  8. I voted yes. I was bullied a lot when I was younger and it definitely affects the way I feel and act around other people. I think it would put his behavior in a different light. However everyone has their baggage and it can’t be an excuse for bad behavior.
  9. Yeah, there’s no evidence he cheated here. Can’t really fault people for thinking that he might though. It’s not like there was one incident and that’s all. I would believe Kostis when he says he saw him improve lies over what Patrick Reed has said, simply by the way that Reed acts. I think it’s telling how other players are reacting and how Patrick responds. If someone accused me of cheating I would be very, very careful with what I did on the course. In golf, it’s a label that will cause people not to want to play with you. on the pro tour, a single stroke can mean th
  10. I remember when I first joined here, FreeDrop was causing trouble and that was really, really odd.
  11. Yeah I find I do a lot of 9 irons and PWs where I would normally do a SW. personally I’d like to work up the confidence to have more shots available when the course is sopping wet, generally I hit what I think I am most. O for table with. the conditions I am talking about are not just soft. Generally it’s where about 25% of the fairways have standing water on them because it rains so much. We generally are on the cart path from late November until May
  12. That’s a good point. I tend to overthink things. Thanks!
  13. Hey everyone, I live somewhere where most of the winter is wet conditions and I was wondering if I should switch to wedges with a higher bounce for the winter. In other words, would it make much of a difference? current wedges: Vokey 50.08 and Vokey 56.10. (Both sm7) older wedges with higher bounce: Vokey 50.12 and Vokey 56.14. (Sm4) my swing type is more of a sweeper. I don’t often take a divot, with wedges I might take a small one but I don’t take long or deep divots. opinions? I was thinking of switching for a couple weeks and seeing what difference t
  14. I didn’t read what Rory said as being against BDC at all. He was wondering how someone could overpower the golf course the way that he did, I think the headline was misleading. Bryson, whether people agree or not, is trying new things and afaik doing it completely legally. People have a right to challenge whether that is good for the game or not, but I didn’t think Rory was criticizing him personally. Just saying he’s taken advantage of things that others haven’t. I don’t think bad of him for doing his science stuff, I just don’t like his attitude sometimes. That headlin
  15. I use Vice on and off. I originally got them because I thought they were a higher end ball with great colors. At the time, no ball I would game made a pink, red or even decent lime. I echo what other people think. I think they are below ProVs and Snell, also the TP5s. Vice feels harder off a putter than any of those, and the greens I play are fast. I want a soft feel for fast greens. But I’d say I play one a decent amount of the time. Best red color I’ve found. Generally a ball is 8-12 holes so if the paint gets knicked it’s not a big problem as long as it’s not cut. They are
  16. He can be abrasive and has been caught a few times where some people think he acts like an ass. Having someone win a major where a percentage of people have issues with him is going to bring out negativity. Unlike someone you might just go “meh” to. I don’t think it’s bad for the game, but unfortunately he’s someone I would root against. Not the only thing, but someone who lashes out at a cameraman about hurting his brand is not someone I’m going to enjoy winning. Ricky Fowler is uber conscious of his “brand” but doesn’t act like that. BD acts like the game has to bend to him. Not
  17. The closest we seem to have is Billy Mayfair who has the worst reputation (maybe Reed has it now) for consistent cheating. Reed has had a better career, IMO. But those 1-2 shots here and there that you save by cheating can be the difference in how you place and that can translate to serious money.
  18. I’d chalk it up to automation sending out letters. I used to get tons of letters even after I renewed. Because I used to live in the ass end of nowhere, I wasn’t thinking about golf until the hell mouth thawed out, so it would lapse and even after I renewed I would get a couple. I’ll bet that stuff is out sourced so they’ll keep sending sometimes no matter what.
  19. It may not be perfect but it does do a lot of good, generates a lot for charity and gives people the ability to see amazing things.
  20. I took my kids to see if today and overall feel better about it. I disagree with some of the undoing they did from 7 and 8, however seeing it a second time allowed me to stop trying to keep up and feel the proper emotional beats. They did do way too many callbacks, and Easter eggs and the movie is overloaded. Some characters are just wasted. They needed more cohesion between Rian Johnson’s movie. it has its issues, more so than the prior 2 films (7 and 8).
  21. Trying to do too much is not the worse crime a movie can make, but this movie actually makes the rest of the trilogy worse.
