  1. There were a lot of recognizable pros that qualified in Columbus and Memphis. I'm curious as to whether they chose the course because they like the course, or if there was another reason. Are the number of qualification spots determined by the number of entrants at that site, or are they predetermined?
  2. He seems like the friendly dude next door, her not so much.
  3. I agree. I enjoyed the large amount of courses, including Augusta, that were playable on Tiger '14. Not to mention, you had the option of having the actual weather, that was affecting the area of your course of choice, be in effect when you played. Rory was not up to that par, and I'm not a fan of TGC. It's ok, but nothing I would spend money on.
  4. I have to agree with the O'Brien's wings. I haven't had them in awhile, but when I lived in Brandon, I had them at least once a week. I live in Largo now, and there's a place in Clearwater called Abe's. Fantastic wings, and they are huge! And yes, the spicy wings at Publix are amazing! As for Hooter's, I would much rather have Winghouse. The sauce at Hooter's doesn't stick to the wing very well.
  5. In my opinion, Tiger needs someone that will push his buttons. When he was growing up, his father filled that role. When Tiger was hot, and since his Dad couldn't be next to him, SW filled that role. LaCava may be a friend, confidant, and Sherpa of the highest order. But Tiger needs that occasional push.
  6. I actually play in both, picking and choosing tournaments based on proximity to my house and dates. Unfortunately for me, tournaments held by Florida State Golf Association and Pinellas County Golf Association are mostly played during the week. It's very rare to have a weekend tournament.
  7. I paid $160 to play at TPC Tampa. I love that course, it's always in pristine shape. I normally only play it in the summer, when I can get on for $70. But, my brother was in town 2 Aprils ago and wanted take him to play there.
  8. I would have to really get after a 9i to go 125. If the trouble was long, stick with the 9. If the trouble was short, hit an easy 8.
  9. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of putting across the sensors. Back in the day, I used a simulator that had a physical hole in front of the screen, with lettered plots placed all over the carpeting between the hitting mat and the screen. The screen would tell you where to putt from and you would manually type in your number of putts.
  10. I played in a tournament this past Saturday morning. After starting 9 over through 6 holes, and thinking this is going to be dumpster fire of a day, I ended up winning my flight at 17 over for the round. It was after I had given up on the day and just relaxed, that I started picking up my play.
  11. I chose bogey-free. I read bogey-free as exactly that, bogey free. It doesn't mean par, it simply means bogey free. Thus, you'd be able to score birdies or better. And, as some of the others have mentioned, I'm liable to follow up each birdie with a bogey or worse.

  13. I voted yes, regarding using the correct tees. I play anywhere between 5700-6100 yards regularly. As for the chart, my driver yardages line up with white, but all my other clubs tend to line up with purple.
  14. Our Wednesday night league is based on quota points. In essence, you're only competing against yourself, with a max of double bogey on every hole. We have CTP prizes, skins, and a weekly raffle. The people that run it do a great job and all the money paid in, gets paid back out.
  15. The latest projected path, at least the one the local paper is showing, shows the center of the storm moving NNW, between Tampa and Orlando, almost equidistant from both cities.
  16. As of right now, it is set to crawl up the spine of Florida. My county, Pinellas, has issued evacuation orders for anyone in Evacuation Zone A. I am in a non-evacuation zone. However, I am evacuating to Vegas for my honeymoon Saturday morning. I am getting out before Southwest cancels their flights, starting Saturday afternoon/evening.
  17. I feel horrible for him and his family. I couldn't imagine what they're going through.
