  1. 6300-6500 is where I have felt the best, but latly I've been biting off a little of the 6800 yards at one course. That has made me think the game much more as the fairways bunkers my ball waved at while flying over, well those are good landing area's from the back tee's so shorter club's off the tee or making a better attempt at working the ball more left or right off the tee. Makes the game even more of a challenge, as if it was easy before
  2. I was surfing the Taylormade site, reading about the red's and blacks and found this link about 2008 TP Reds being put on the non conforming list. http://www.tmag.com/tpred/ Now I play this ball , the red , and really like the feel off of my irons, all of them, including wedges, and in this article, I see the thing about a new side stamp and sticker, and realized the dozen I picked up at Wal-mart over the weeknd for $24.50 where infact the newer '09 balls. I still experiment with other balls, Pro V1x and the Bridgestone B 330 RX and the S but seem to come back to the taylormades every time.
  3. I was having a problem with my irons and then with a video taping of the swing I found with my mid to long irons 4-7 I was using all hands. I wasn't clearing out or turning my hips to allow the lag and thus was only getting maybe 165 170 out of my long irons. Now after a few weeks of practice and work on the feel of swinging with my hips, yesterday I hit my 8 iron about 145 and got 195 out of my 4 iron. At first it felt wierd but now when I don't do it right, the swing feels all wrong.
  4. At Golfsmith on the launch moniter I myself got better flight from the 09 Burner. I currently play an 07 Burner but I may be in the process of upgrading a bit, I am leaning toward the 09 every time I hit it. Now today at one of the local clubs they had Taylormade demo days and I even prefer the 09 over the new r9, but the r9 does feel good. I tried all with a stiff shaft 9.5 to 10.5, which 10.5 flies better for my swing but I give up some distance to the 9.5. JMHO
  5. Second vote for the Vineyard, very challenging, but very nice and priced good to. When I was younger I played Winton Woods a few times and then it was nice, same park district as the Vineyard so it should be good also
  6. can't do it, I deleted it, but not after half the world and all my friends and her's read it. Yep, that stuff that came from an old radiator cost me plenty, including her. I thought Jim Beam was bad but when that doesn't work any more, don't get on the 'shine
  7. I know one thing for sure, if what your drinkin' was in a mason jar, clear, and burned like the fire's of hell on the way down, well that will lead to buying a no name carry bag (dirt cheap)that will only hold half of my clubs, and will also lead to posting a very bad blog on my space about the girl you "where" seeing at that time......that will no longer acknowlege that you are even on the face of the earth any more. Yep, unlike the Nike ad...."Just DON'T do it"
  8. I've been playing them for a few weeks, Not sure I like them off my driver, but off my mid to long irons I must say they are very good. Now I haven't tried them in firm or dry conditions as I think it has only not rained 5 days in the past month and a half , so when I go at the green it sticks good, but time will tell. Maybe my driver is at the upper limit of the swing speed recomended and my irons are right there in the range, who know's I just like the feel so far, but as with everything else that is subject to change.
  9. I personaly tried the Bridgestone B330 RX over the weekend, and first off I didn't drop 10 strokes or found the cure all golf ball, but for myself, I got better flight off the clubs, driver and irons. Felt good greenside with the wedges, and ok off the putter face, but don't belive the add, hit on in the water out of a fairway bunker on a long par 5 then toe a wedge into the ground below the green and you can most certainly get a snowman on your score card. I will try them more as I work on my swing change's to see how both work out.
  10. Play it where it lies, if course has lift clean and place on the board is the only time it moves. I play with a few older guy's that roll the ball around to get a good lie, and I cring every time but I know the answer, "Hey we are not on the tour here". I just say what ever and play on.
  11. Most of my shirt except the logo shirts come from Kohl's. It's funny a few years ago I hated going there and now I spend more time there than most of the women I know. I may not play like a pro but I'm doing my best to look like one. I also recently picked up a pair of pin stiped golf shorts with a score card pocket on the side there, and every one that saw them on the course wanted to know where they came from.
  12. I tookthe 30 min swing analysis tonight and you know....the camera does add 15 - 20 lbs. But really, I thought I had a pretty good swing until the vidieo showed all the flaws. Everything on the way back was good, but bad from there down. My instructor showed me a few things to work on and then I swung my club the right way slowly to get the right feel and I tell you , the swing felt very smooth, easy and I was hitting the ball very, very straight. I will be signing up for more and some leson's in the very near future. It was by far the best $25 I have ever spent.
  13. Spent 2 months in Fl and played Lake Orlando, decent course, tight and the price at the time I was there "Great". If you don't mind a little drive down the Turnpike to St Cloud, I played the "Links at St Cloud" or what ever it's name was. I tell you it was a very ,very, good course. Maintained great, fairways and greens in fantastic shape and a great driving range, putting green and a 90 yd chip and pitching practice area. Take the Fl turnpike south to Kissimmee,St Cloud Rt. 192 exit, Left on 192 to Michigan Rd , turn right and go to the end of the road. Don't know the time frame ,but they put in another 9 holes that wasn't open yet but what I could see of it ,it's going to be great also. Wish I was going back or better yet that I had never left, came back to IN and high of 36 with snow showers.......gotta love it.
  14. Oh dear God, what am I thinking? I have been sweltering in the south Florida heat for the past month and a half, and my boss has been telling me I have to go back to east central In by Monday. I don't want anything to do with that crap ass weather. I think I could get used to playing in 90 plus weather in the summer so I don't have to ride that sping and fall weather roller coaster. What to do , what to do. If the economy wasn't so bad I could proabably find work here , but the unemployment rate is higher here than in the frozen tundra of artic Indiana.
  15. I went to Bay Hill Thursday and I walked all18 holeswith Kenny Perry, and Stewart Cink, Adam Scott. After they finished I sat in the bleechers at #1 tee and watched many of the guy's who started later on the back 9 tee off until Zach Johnson's group came up then I walked the last 9 holes with them and then hung out at the 9th green until I left. Had a great time, saw many, many pro's and by all mean's spend some time at the range and the practice green. All of these guy's have a great short game with fantastic touch around the green. Can't wait for 7 AM because I'm headed back to watch Kenny Perry go around again then I'll hang out at 17 or 18 green until the round ends.

    Bay Hill

Tiger in my opinion is a showman and is showing off for the crowd. I was at Bay Hill on Thursday for the opening round and all of the groups on the course had a good following , maybe a few hundred fans each and each hole had the normal green side spectators and then there was the "circus" as allot of people called it,Tigers group had thousands of fans that moved along with him like a plague of locust. They move along the course jumping from hole to hole chewing up everything in their path. Don't get me wrong , he's great , but he is most defiantly showing for the crowd. I liked Arnold's comment on the Golf Chanel about him throwing a club when he was young and what his father said to him about it. My father jumped me when I was young because I beat a club in the ground after a bad shot, and had to play the rest of the round with out that club.
  17. That brings up another argument, but any way, You should walk when playing golf, it will most definatly speed up a round even with a push or pull cart.

    Bay Hill

I watched Adam Scott jerk a tee shot right on #7 the par 3 and hit a women and the ball laid in her chair. The only sound I heard was him cuss loudly at the shot. She was ok and he I belive made par on the hole. I followed him ,Kenn Perry and Stewart Cink on thier rounds.
  19. Well I went to Bay Hill today for the first round and watched the LPGA coverage on the Golf Chanel when I got back home at my sisters house. Followed Kenny Perry for 18 and headed back early. Always watch or tape the LPGA when I can't catch it when it's on
  20. The worse thing about all the members here complaining about slow play and the foursome fivesomes and larger groups completly destroying a round of golf , is that those guilty of this hainess act , well they don't read these threads. I have seen the worst slow play in my life the past few weeks in Fl. with all the snowbirds who don't care because they don't have any where to be until the snow melts back home. One outing in Okeechobee got me behind 2 guy's who I know lost a total of at least 2 dozen balls between them, who would not let anyone through and said in North Dakota where they where from, people had more respect, so I figured that the 2 weeks of summer there, no one get's out because these two would be laughed out of the game. I am not lightning fast, and hate with a passion slow play and the lack of anyone doing anything about it. The only thing the course and the pro care about is the bottom $ and until regular players start complaining and cutting into the bottom line, I believe it will only get worse.
  21. Played another Florida course today,Lake Orlando, shot a 92 in a stiff breeze behind 4 of the slowest golfer's I have ever seen. Making my self slow down and learn patience. Nice course, priced right just way to crowded and all the groups where extremely slow. But it beats work.
  22. Smooth 3 Hybrid 19* and if the green is soft it should land and hold within 10-15 ft. Hard greens well it would bounch 30 feet in the air and be 20 yds off the back so a 4 Hybrid 22* and hope for a good roll.
  23. Getting use to the new wedges of the hard fairways of Florida So yeasterday it was an 89 with one Train Wreck , Quad boggey 8 so the game is coming along nicely
  24. Yesterday was a day of first's for me. First time with 3 new wedges on the course and most of all first time in month's I played without, long johns, jacket, sweatshirt, beanie hat, gloves all that cold weather crap. So a little rusty, but 92 was ok for the first decent round of the year. It's still to cold at home , I love this Florida weather.
  25. For the most part I do swing my hybrid faily well now. I spent time at the range swing it across the grass to just ruffel the grass. When I saw where it was doing that , I put a ball in the middle of that 3-4 inch ruffel and there it was, nice and straight, good distance , no hook, or topping the ball. I have learned to punch the ball with a hybrid from behind the tree's like with a 3 iron. I really like them, but with the r7 Taylormades it's hard to get a good fade with them because of the draw set up on the head. After workng with them , now it's like why did I wait so long. One other thing, out of a fairway bunker like on a par 5 there is nothing better than a hybrid, it just slides along the sand on the swing and the ball fly's just like out of the rough.
