Water, I do the Nalgene bottle too. Why spend the money on bottle water when I can just pour in some of my cold Brita filtered water. If I drink beer, my favorite on course is Newcastle Brown Ale in a can. Makes bogeys feel not so bad!

Just picked up my first Scotty Cameron..

The reason I got such a good deal, was that it was being sold in the golfshop by one of the employees who had previously owned it. He ended up winning another Scotty in a tourney and had actually never played the Squareback 2 since buying it. He put a price ($190) on it, cash only, and since I've bought nearly my entire bag from this one guy, he took some more off the top for me. Probably the only reason I ended up getting it... -

Thanks guys, appreciate the good words. Its her b-day tomorrow night, so I'm guessing dinner will at the most expensive place. Thats cool, I'm still putt'ing with my Scotty. Cheers guys.. -
Hey all, so I visited our local golf shop today. They just so happened to be having a huge sale and Spring bash, so I figured I might have a good chance at getting a couple things. I didn't plan on finding a Scotty Cameron Squareback 2 with a good price. I had been looking at either the Fastback or Squareback and when I saw the Squareback 2 just sitting so lonely on the rack, I had to putt it. Wow, what a feel! I mustered up the cash and walked out with it. Now, when my wife gets back from Texas this weekend, I'm hoping she has the same feeling towards the putter that I do. Wish me luck.. Better update my sig..

I watched Thursday and Friday, even a little of the Par 3 Contest on Wednesday. Although on Saturday, set up the DVR. The band I'm in, ( www.myspace.com/finalalibi ), had a battle of the bands. Then came home late, watched it all in a matter of 2 hours. Sunday was spent watching all of the final round. My wife knows that I don't do much on Masters Sunday.

Right on 3putt....I took Thursday off of work just to watch him and The Masters. I love this time of the year as my golf season has just started. I'm going with the Iowan, Zach Johnson, eventhough he's not playing too well this year. I think he finds his game in Augusta.

Those crowds are unbelievable! Then again, its a huge moment in Golf History, although maybe for not the best of reasons. It's still people getting into golf and golf being the center of attention. I'm glad he's playing this week.

Yeah, I agree. I doubt Elin would show up, that would just be "distracting" and Tiger probably would play like crap. Although, if she wants to really get back at him, she could just show up unexpectedly on the 12th tee, waiving. Wow that would be funny. I also would love to see Ernie play well, he's been playing great and is deserving of the wins he recently got.

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
acj990 replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I recently have found myself in the market for new Irons. I visited my local shop and found a set of slightly used Titleist AP2s with Project X 5.5 shafts and GPND grips. They looked beautiful! I had convince my wife that I needed new clubs since my other clubs (Titleist 990s) were old. I traded in the 990s and ended up getting the AP2s for a steal! Also, playing them for a round before buying them didn't hurt. The flight of the ball was just epic. Now on to building up my Vokey collection... -
Was thinking about buying some, and yes I do like the way they look. nice!

I'm glad the turn this post took. f my thread.

I watched the Tavistock Cup and somewhat enjoyed it, mostly because it was golf on t.v.

The Florida swing continues as they head north towards the years first major. I have a feeling Bay Hill is going to be a great tourney. Who do you guys think will step up and hold the trophy on Sunday? I'm going to say Phil will be in contention but I still don't see him winning. I'd also like to see David Duval play well. I'm going to step out on a limb and say..............Sean O'Hair. As always I'd like to see Zach Johnson win, ha.
-
I wish I lived in Florida, I too would play golf after Christmas. I live in Iowa and like my midwestern brethren from Nebraska, I got out once last week before Winter returned. The 3 inches of snow that fell is about melted again, so I'm gonna try to get back out there tomorrow. Gotta love Iowa.
-
I'll cheer for him even with my wife watching with me (I think she still likes him even though he did what he did). It will be awkward with anticipation on every swing....
-
What will his celebration be like? Or will Elin be waiting on 18 to greet him? What do you guys think?
-
I thought they were both good interviews. I'm looking forward to seeing Tiger back. Watching him answer the questions, he just seemed more personable and honest. In my opinion...
-
Nice work Jim....now I hope he'll finally smile. He always looks like he hates his job.
-
Is David Duval playing this week?
-
Yep, thats about it. But we're on a forum and it's a place for opinions. Seeing John Daly do anything positive is great if you're a fan of the guy.
-
I'm was excited when I saw that Tiger was coming back. I think it was a good decision to make the return at Augusta as many of you guys have already posted. The security for the players and the reputation for Augusta to not tolerate bad behavior from the patrons, makes this the perfect place for TW to return to the competition. Although, I can see at least a handful of patrons getting tossed for saying/yelling things, just to be "one of those guys." This is a good day.
-
I wish I lived closer so I could go to a tourney. I had the opportunity to go to Bay Hill in 02 when TW won, and plenty of John Deere Classics, but definitely would like to go one of the bigger tourneys in the FL swing. If you get to go, enjoy. Then again, my home course here in IA opens tomorrow for the year, so I'll be playing!
-
So....lets head down to Tampa. Will Tiger's commitment to the Bay Hill on Friday or the anticipation of his commitment take away from the Tourney? Also, who are you guys picking to win? Okay, maybe he won't actually commit, but I'm sure GC will be taking a lead with that. I'm gonna say John Daly will make some noise coming off his good play in PR, but I can definitely see Zach Johnson, and Padraig Harrington contending on Sunday afternoon. My wildcard for the week: Ryan Moore. Cheers and Happy St. Patrick's week!
-
I really enjoyed watching JD play for the last couple days (when GC actually showed him). His eagle putt was great...and watching the ball slam the crew, hilarious. Hopefully he's turning around and will have another great week in Tampa. How about his girlfriend? You guys think she's there for the right reasons? Sometimes it seems as if she might be digging a tad.....imo.
