  1. Feels like there should be a "That's what she said" joke here someplace..... Would that be appropriate? ... Probably not.
  2. Ding! I'd like to see the purses for Women's Golf equal the purses for men's golf. If that means that the ratings for women's golf equal the ratings for men's golf. Which is something I'd like to see. I enjoy watching the women and I enjoy watching the men. I enjoy college golf. I enjoy the Euros. I watch all of it. But, I realize that I'm the exception. I know this because for among other reasons when I'm at the range chit chatting with the folks there. I can talk PGA golf and everyone knows what I'm talking about. If I talk women's golf people still think Annika Sorenstam and M
  3. How on Earth did yours get in before mine?
  4. Then he needs to change that. And do it now. I say "Panther Piss!" as my interjection of choice when I'm angry. There's very little chance I'm going to offend a panther. That's just what he says when he gets upset is a terrible excuse... I mean really TERRIBLE. What if he said "Oh, go beat your wife!" When ever he got upset? Or "Kill a (insert racial slur here)!" When ever he gets upset. It's ridiculous to think "Oh that's just what he says when he's upset."
  5. WOULD YOU RATHER #33: For this question pretend you are playing a course on which for what ever reason you have to take a cart. The question is simple and non-controversial. Would you rather drive the cart? OR Would you rather be a passenger in the cart?
  6. That was a very well thought out and intelligently formulated response. Of course, I know that marketing departments have to kneel to the legal departments. I remember a similar case study about the use of the word "whitening" in toothpaste ads or on the packaging. Incidentally, P&G was smack in the middle of that one, but this time came out on top. I can still giggle at them though. "Oh man, I have to run out to Golf Galaxy and get the new Taylormade irons!" .... "Haven't you heard? They have improved playability!" ... "I've been saying for years that I wish somebody would im
  7. I might argue that they aren't trash. And THAT'S THE PROBLEM. It's really hard to make any improvements now. If you really did something to make the game easier it would likely be against the rules.
  8. So, to make a long story short. I was thumbing through an fairly old Golf Digest Hot List Issue. My wife was half reading over my shoulder. At one point she asked me. "That's like the 5th club I've seen that has a bullet point for Increased Playability. What does that mean?" I really didn't know. But I did find that "Increased Playability" was used to describe more than a dozen clubs... maybe much more. Then my wife and I started discussing golf marketing. Here's a short list of terms taken directly from the Hot List Bullet Points. Do you know what all of these mean? They all kind of say
  9. Let me start by saying I've never left a headcover on the course. I've also never left a golf club behind on a hole. But I've played with many folks who have. My driver headcover nearly always goes into the slot in the bag where the driver was. Same with the 3 wood and any other woods or hybrids which may be in the bag that day. I always always always put the cover back on my woods after each use. Because I'm conscious of other folks who may be in a big hurry behind me and I know that sometimes I'm a little anal about how my clubs are stuck into the bag, I have been known on occasio
  10. I'M OFFENDED! Just kidding. What goes on in "the barn" is off topic. I also agree with you that far too many people walk around all day trying to figure out what's going to offend them. I think, however, you may be missing the point many of us are trying to make. I've said many times. I forgive JT for what he said (not that he cares what I think). I've also said many times it's 2021. He SHOULD HAVE known better. He made a mistake it will cost him. I've made mistakes that have cost me. I'm sure you've made mistakes that have costed you. In terms of RL dropping him. They had
  11. I know. I like his golf too. I was being facetious. Obviously he's taller than 4' 2". Somebody told me they list him at 5'10". I think they list Tom Cruise at 5'10" as well.
  12. Wew, I felt good today. I felt fast. 115, 116, 116, 117, 117 in that order. Really good for me. Also nice and consistent. 💪
  13. I saw him in person. I think they took his measurements with some platform shoes on. ... just saying.
  14. I always think that's a funny argument. It seems to be pretty exclusive to golf (mmm... sometimes baseball). I mean I don't hear anyone complain that Y.A. Tittle likely wouldn't have been able to compete in today's NFL. Or that Bob Cousy likely couldn't compete in today's NBA. Athletes are bigger, faster, and stronger than they used to be. ... Sorry. Having said that perhaps Corey Pavin would have had a burning desire to compete in today's PGA and perhaps he would have developed his game totally differently. Xander Schauffele competes on tour and I think he's only 4 foot 2 or something l
  15. Wow, Thanks. I feel like I just went to a high school physics class.
  16. I was have a discussion with a golf buddy yesterday and he told me two things I've never heard before. I didn't challenge him, but I wonder if these are true. Can any of you confirm these two statements about adjustable drivers: 1 - If you decrease the loft on a driver from let's say from 10.5 degrees to 9 degrees the driver will end up more upright. (AKA draw biased). If you adjust it from 10.5 to 12 degrees it will end up more flat. (AKA fade biased) 2 - If you have 2 adjustable drivers one is 10.5 +/- 1.5 degrees and one is 9 +/- 1.5 degrees. If you set them both to 9 degree
  17. Firstly, Great job from the Spousial Unit. Secondly, Unless you are hitting them in the sand a lot. You probably won't degrade the grooves while practicing. I had a golf coach tell me one time that chips, and bumps and runs, and even pitch shots do very little to dull the grooves in your wedge. It's the bits of grit and more importantly the sand that can "sand down" your grooves over time. So, keep 'em clean and practice away.
  18. They made a decision based on their business model. While I certainly am no fan of the cancel culture. I totally understand Ralph Lauren's move here. Businesses need to do what's best for business and in this case I think they got it right. My question here is more about what was JT thinking? You have to know that in this day and age everything you do or say will likely end up being recorded. Some may argue that Justin is used to the fan noise drowning out his outbursts. To which I say this is NOT the first tournament he's played under these conditions. Others will say, he deserves a pas
  19. Much improved on the face angle. Had a lesson last night. I've been working hard on face angle and head movement (The club face and the head on my shoulders). I got into some really bad habits last year while trying to make some changes on my own. (I'd like to write a thread on making changes to my swing without my coach). I really do need to get some new video to post here. I think you'll be surprised when you see it. Last year I was a mess. Last night, on the other hand, the club face angle was much improved according to the data we took. Back in September I was as much as 10 degrees o
  20. Perhaps that guy is(was) the exception? Plus, I think the 6,000,000 number might be way low. ... not that it matters. I get your point and I also immediately thought of that guy. It's kind of hard to argue that he's not 100% evil. For now, I think it would be wise to leave him out of the conversation. That one is still very painful for a lot of folks. Having said all of that. I don't think we've ever had a president who is(was) 100% evil.
  21. Haven't posted a video in a while. I have been working really hard on my swing... REALLY HARD. Anyway, I don't have any new video to post. But I do have some old video to post. I'm just sticking these here as a benchmark to where I was. The first one is a 2009 video of my driver swing. This is back when I was working with my previous swing coach. I was playing well at the time, handicap was around 10-14. My miss at the time was a snap hook. I know the exposure stinks. Again, it's just a benchmark for me. The next two videos are from 2015. At the time I was betw
  22. Over my lifetime I've voted in every presidential election for which I've been old enough to vote. I have voted for Democrats. I've voted for Republicans. I have voted for candidates who've won, and for candidates who've lost. My personal policy has always been to vote for the candidate of my choice, and then support who ever wins. If I'm ever invited to the Oval Office, I'm going! ... Again, it's pretty unlikely that I will ever get invited, but you never know. I have to agree with you here. I can name some really good things and some things that I totally disagree with from every pr
