  1. Remember last season? Play someone. ;) Wow. Didn't see that. Had a hectic weekend. That sucks. I'd still take him for us over Heacock. :)
  2. Boom! Roasted!
  3. Ingram is a beast and if healthy will do as well against other teams. Here's to hoping if we get to the NCG we can contain him. :) I miss Dantonio. Wish he'd come back to OSU. wait...what'd I miss? Play someone. :)
  4. Who knows? Nothing is certain in sports until the final second ticks off the clock. I too am a Reds fan. I still have the full lineup of cards with Sabo, Larkin, etc. Watched every game while in little league. Here's to hoping they'll actually be able to make us proud.
  5. I don't know. They're tough, but I'm unsure as to how tough and as to how long they can maintain. I know they hate us for spoiling a couple seasons for them and want revenge. That's why I'm worried about playing in their house at night. Same with Wisconis. At least PSU has a young QB and they're coming to The Shoe this year. Since we beat Miami, if we can get past Iowa and Wisky I think we'll see Bama in the end.
  6. Well there just aren't any winners there. Just a couple of pee'd pants and nuts all over the floor.
  7. Iowa is solid and being from the Big Ten(ish) I love to see them doing well and hope they comtinue the trend. I'd like to see PSU, UM (blech), and Wisconsin get back to having consistently good seasons as well and am excited about Nebraskas recent joining. Big Games this weekend? - Lane Dragons at Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles....ok, maybe not. - Arkansas and Georgia pits 2 classic teams. - ECU should take Va Tech. - TN and FL, hopefully with TN exposing FL for what they really are. - NEB and Washington. I'll be watching to see if NEB can make our conference look good in the upcoming years. Locker is no joke. Wish he had a better supporting cast. - AF and OK. After Air Forces performance last week they'll be riding high. OK may underestimate them. I hope for a good game, but let's be real, it'll probably be a blowout. - ND at Mich State. If ND loses it confirms my suspicions that they aren't a great team and just made Robinson look way more fantastic than he is. - Texas vs. Texas Tech. In state rivalry. 'Nuff said. No real big time games this weekend IMO, but I'll still be watching. :)
  8. I was training tonight from 8:00 - 10:00 so I missed most of it. Didn't look good from what I saw. But yeah, I watch every game I can. Drives my wife nuts. She only watches OSU with me. :)
  9. Is Florida looking TERRIBLE against Miami (OH) a good litmus for the strength? I think Florida is still, and will remain top tier. They will replenish. The difference between them and Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Penn State, USC, etc. is that while Florida has a "bad" 4-5 loss season MORE OFTEN THAN NOT those other schools have a "bad" 1-2 loss season. Some teams lose good players and take a couple/few years to get back to national dominance. Other schools reload b/c they're 2-3 deep in every position. While Florida's bad season lands them in a bowl game some of the others have "bad" seasons that land them in a BCS bowl game. I would put Texas on the same level as FL. Def. good teams but, and this is ONLY MY OPINION, not great...at least not yet. Not historically. You can't deny Tebow brought FL into the limelight and carried them through it. FL will be good, but they're far from being one of the greats. I also think ESPN is full of a bunch of hacks and if I EVER meet Mark May I swear I'll punch him in the face. He spews stupidty that can literally lower a persons I.Q. 'Bama will win out as will OSU (hopefully). That's my opinion/prediction. Nobody know's though. They could both lose.
  10. Agreed. Florida is a flash in the pan. I predict they'll have a couple of good back to back seasons every 5-8 years but won't be a lasting powerhouse. They'll be top tiered, but the won't be one of the greats year in and year out. Just my thoughts though. :)
  11. We'll see. I am a huge fan and it's easy for me to SAY we'll go undefeated but with night games on the road at Iowa and Wisonsin anything can happen honestly. And I don't personally think he has a snowballs chance but God forbid if Robinson DOES rake up 300 rushing yards on us it'll be tough to come out with the W. It we shut down his running game though I think UM is done. His arm, while consistent, is weak. We'll see. I love college football. :)
  12. Our teams come from the same upbringing. :) OSU vs. 'Bama would be a good NCG I believe. I have to be 100% honest though...you guys scare me. :)
  13. Sorry, you're right. Boise State won. I don't know what I was thinking. I even watched that game. My bad. :) Also Pryoar has, in 2 games, 480 Passing Yards and 130 Rushing Yards. Not great but 4 Passing TD's with 0 INT's. IF, and I do mean IF, because I too think it's way too long of a season to assume ANYTHING, but IF he keeps this up he'll have, through 12 games, 2,880 Passing Yards, 780 Rushing Yards, 24 Passing TD's, and 12 rushing TD's on top of that. Denard Robinson currently has 430 Passing Yards, 455 Rushing Yards (300 which came, as I mentioned, from a terrible ND team), a QB rating of 138.3, and 2 Passing TD's with 3 rushing TD's. Through 12 games he would, again IF we assume, have 2580 Passing Yards, 2730 Rushing Yards, 12 Passing TD's, and 36 Rushing TD's. Very impressive indeed. These guys seem to think Denard is worthy and while in pains me to admit it (b/c he's scUM) the kid is good. I question whether he can lay 300 rushing yards down every game though. I promise he won't against us, and doubt he will against Iowa, Penn State, or good ol' Wisky. I don't even think Pryor is the best necessarily, but even here Denard lacks in my eyes. Pryor performed on a BIG stage last weekend. Denard looked like Reggie Bush against Fresno State. Yes it was an amazing performance. No it wasn't phenominal. If Denard looks like that against top tiered defenses I'll gladly eat humble pie and say he deserves the Heisman. I could be wrong, who knows. I just don't think he'll have a repeat performance for the next 11 games. As for "SEC is weaker this year but has always been known as the toughest division."? No it hasn't. That's non-sense. It's all cyclical and the Big Ten was once dominant and may be returning. The SEC has been the toughest in recent years but to say "always" is a true SEC homer statement. As for 'Bama, it was a good showing. The score didn't reflect the game IMO. 'Bama, as much as I hate to admit it, controlled that game. I predict they'll run the table and we (hopefully) will meet them for the title. Mich - Oregon Rose Bowl would be a defensiveless snoozefest with a scattering of sick plays IMO.
  14. My point is when you guys (Florida) crushed us (OSU) everyone said we couldn't hand and the Big Ten was weak. When Michigan came right back and beat you though not one announcer at any media outlet said the SEC was inferior. It's a double standard. Fixed that for ya. ;) They ruined it for themselves when they lost to VT. A 1 loss Boise State is nowhere near in the same league as a 1 loss Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, Florida, etc. They would've ONLY gotten a nod if they remained undefeated. And no, Denard will NOT win the Heisman and I would bet he doesn't even get to make the trip. He's playing an inferior defense and he's still too young and making terrible decisions. Having to squeeze one out last second after having 300 yard rushing game hardly qualifies a Heisman winner.
  15. Awesome. I want vid of this.
  16. I would've ignored him, moved the cart, got through, and played on.
  17. Pics or it didn't happen. :P
  18. Peeing in the bushes is better than crapping in the cup.
  19. Not really but I will ammuse you. :) My group (12 or so guys total but usually 4-8) had played the course once or twice already early last year. It seemed decent. Not the best but pretty fairly priced for what it was. Greens seemed inconsistent each time out. Sometimes extremely dry, others they were insanely soggy. The traps were never maintained by the staff it seemed. After a rain then a short drought they were like concrete. Leaves would lie everywhere on the fairways and greens. The course was fun to play with some great holes but overall it was nowhere near anyones top 10. For the price though, and since a few of us are within our first few years of playing, we considered it a good deal. Usually not too crowded. One day in particular we went out, with no teee time, and got a spot right away. There was 4 of us and a total of about 4-5 groups out we were told. There were 2 groups waiting to go from the front so we asked to start from the back. We were told by the manager on duty that this was fine. As we get ready to tee off the ranger comes flying over the hill, slams his brakes bringing his cart to a screeching halt, and walks over and kicks my buddies ball off the tee before saying a word to us. I said, "What's the deal?" He goes, in quite a hasty voice, "Do you people even belong here?!" I asked, "What do you mean?" He replies, "I swear, I don't know why they let hoodlums on this course!" Mind you I'm with 2 of my cousins, both rolling up in new Lexus' making more than enough money to play elsewhere, myself (lower middle class indeed), and my friend who also owns his own succesful business. We're all in tucked polos and slacks or cargo/dress shorts, golf shoes, all with our own newer clubs, WITH permission from the clubhouse to be there. It's not like we all came in with a system blaring and rolled out in sweatpants and just started golfing without paying. He thought we decided on our own we'd just go off the back and apparently that's what 'hoodlums' do. Anyways, I say, "Alright buddy. Calm down before that vein in your head bursts." We went to the club house, spoke with the manager, and she scoffs and goes, "Well obviously he didn't want you to tee off there. He's probably having a bad day. Just go play your golf and let us do our jobs." This was AFTER SHE told us it was ok. I was irritated to say the least but we waited and went off the front. Finished the round and went out about 2 weeks later with the same 2 cousins and another friend who was a little newer to the game and a little tight on cash. Reluctantly I went along although I would've rather paid more for a better course with a better staff. All was going well except the ranger literally followed us from a distance the whole round parking behind trees and bushes. It was like he was trying to go Force Recon on us. We did nothing wrong the whole day and everytime we saw him my cousin would just nod, smile, and wave, as we do to any ranger. Apparently he didn't see that as a sign of "forgive and forget" as my cousin did because after a drive which landed about 10 yards off the right of the fairway but still well within our side of the trees he drove over to it, picked it up, and launched it across to the other side of the fairway then just looked back at us and shook his head. When we approached him and inquired as to why he did it all he did was yell at my cousin, "We shouldn't even let you back here! You can't play and you think you own the place! Why don't you just spend your money at McDonalds fat@$$!" Wrong thing to say to an all state lineman who stands 6'2" and 325 lbs...especially when you're about 5'10" and about 170. Needless to say my cousin merely said, "If you think you're man enough to remove me go for it. Since I know you're not why don't you go back to hosing off the carts, let us finish the round we paid for, and we won't be back again." Something was also said by another member of our party to the effect that, "It's too bad he just lost customers. He could've used our money to get rid of that Billy Ray wannabe schmullet he's rocking." We haven't been back since and have filed complaints. Also cancelled 2 outings that we were to participate in there. Upon looking online reviews showed their course and clubhouse averaged no more than 2.5-3 out of 5. Terrible customer service. If my cousin repeatedly hit into the other fairway (which nobody was even on) then I could see him saying something to us. Ma and pop businesses sometimes drive themselves into the ground. Not coorporate America. The end. :)
  20. Sucks. I see spa crap all the time. No amount of hot stones and naps in mud is gonna change how ugly I am. I want rounds of golf!
  21. Man, you guys have had it rough. We had sprinklers come on while we were playing a round in the rain. That's about it.
  22. Uhh.... ???
  23. - People hitting into me...multiple times. - Crap carts. - People that yell for 15 minutes over a good putt or any decent shot. - Geese. - $9 fried bologna sandwiches - People who are far better golfers than me being much bigger snobs/jerks than me. - People who lack common courtesy and respect. - People who pickup my ball. - My long game. - Greens that look like a minefield. - People who talk on their cell phone loud enough that the person their talking with can hear them without the use of a cellular device. - Club throwers. - People with a high handicap like mine that literally take 15 practice swings/2 full minutes to practice EVERY shot. - Rangers that cuss you out and throw your ball when you're dressed nice, well within play, and obeying all game/course rules, especially at a SMALL, pivately owned public course.
  24. And where did they play their college ball? :P I'm excited about the season, especially since my fantasy league is in it's 4th year, but I am STOKED that college football is finally on. GO BUCKS! ...and for the sake of staying on topic-ish...GO COWBOYS!
  25. So many good games this weekend. CAN'T WAIT!
