  1. Chance dictated I bought the subzero head, I’m hitting the r7 8.5’ loft with reg purple ice shaft 225 metres with small draw. The subzero is 9’ loft so hoping the lower loft works for me, but I will put a epic adapter on the purple ice stiff and reg shafts. One of them should work, I’m leaning towards the stiff as I’m 90% recovered and working on getting stronger and fitter than I was before my long illness, it’s a nice feeling getting my driver to work for me....
  2. Yeah the M3 should be easier to hit but I couldn't get it setup to suit me, too many adjustments possible plus I tried the standard setup because the R7 is standard with no adjustment and I hit it well. I'm hoping the sub zero with less adjustment I will be able to set it to suit me abit easier. My average drive is 210 out to 232, that's with a draw that can become a hook, the hook is my miss which is particularly a bad shot because at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club your in straw. That's long thick grass that means lost ball more often than not unless you have very good eyesight lol....
  3. My thoughts as well, I can but try plus I'm enjoying playing with the setup of my Drivers, my Nickent 7DX play well for me too...
  4. I’ve bought the sub zero and my friend uses the Epic and says it’s easier to hit, I’ve been using M3 and recently the R7 and decided I should try something else, so callaway epic sub zero appears for a good price on eBay callaway pre owned. I buy the head only as I have a shaft that suits me already, my r7 is not easy to hit and I think the sub zero will be easier to hit than the r7. Or is it true new clubs are harder to hit than older clubs, what’s your experience tell you I would like to know? If all fails I can sell right....
  5. Had to happen right, fell in love with the ping putter lol. Can’t believe how comfortable it feels, staying in the bag...
  6. Out to 230metres now, nice draw my mates tell me as I can’t see that far lol... R7 10.5* still purple ice shaft, love it...
  7. I experience that once in awhile too, but not 350 yards out lol...
  8. This has always stuck in my gullet, the best in the world can’t read greens without a picture showing the fall around the hole and the whole green. Plus the yardage from any point from the Tee box to the green, and me as a bloody half blind man can’t get that help. I appreciate their ball control but jeez that’s a lot of help, no wonder they hit over trees etc on a course they’ve never played before. Go back to the Pro and caddie doing their own course management before the Tournament starts, let’s see who’s in the Top50 then bet it’s different....
  9. You go with those making the most noise, really. If you cave so easily on this what next, stick with your belief....
  10. I voted no, not many can hit the ball that far to be concerned about it. Besides those that can don’t win week in week out so not worth getting your pants in a knot lol...
  11. Appreciate your advice, and your right I can try other brands. I’m not a one brand guy, I use them all lol. Besides the r7 driver I have Ping i20 Nickent Callaway Titliest and others I forget lol, all part of the learning curve for me. Happy holidays to all... I did wonder about that, I asked at the range about trying different shafts for the m3 but they don’t stock them but will order them for me. Yeah right don’t think so, anyway I’ve sold my m3 for what I paid 2 years ago so all good,,,
  12. Agree with that, in the past I played tennis to a much better level than golf and only used a prince approach racket. Feel was important to me and I had my racket strung @45lb or kgs forget which but my coach said it was like an onion bag lol but it worked very good for me...
  13. I have the R7 Driver that has much better dispersion than the M3, and I've tried the identical shaft in both heads? Has anyone tried a newish driver by 12 years and can't get any improvement in distance or dispersion, is this m3 head a lemon or it doesn't like purple ice shafts?
  14. Agree sir... Just like to test before I get rid of it, I thought it looked bent until I saw a putter in the Pro’s shop. I’m trying to keep it because it looks good to me, time will tell...
