I think I'm just gonna stick with my power hand.
-
are you sure I can build touch? The swing still feels so awkward and unnatural for me. It's true that you can't build power. I been trying to gain distance on my other hand but no luck.
-
I have a bit of dilemma. I'm a natural Left hand swinger but I can hit the ball far with my RIGHT hand. So I been practicing my right hand for two months and the consistence of my irons is the same with my LEFT. For someone who's trying to play D1 school and dream of playing the tour. Do I stick with my natural left hand or stick with my right hand for additional distance? The right swing feels so awkward to me. 250yards Left hand driver, 290-300 yards right hand driver. I think I'm getting over 15mps on my right hand.

impatient waiting for others at golf course
golf55 replied to golf55's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
worse is when there's 4some in front you and nobody is ahead but they won't let you pass. One time I tried skipping two holes and as I'm walking by this guy starts cursing at me for passing them. -
It takes me 4-5hrs to play 18holes cause people are freaking slow. If I had the course all to myself I can finish it in 90minutes. How do you guys deal with long wait period? I'm sure more expensive course($100) have fewer people but I can't afford that.

I'm shooting for the Olympics, advice? Dont shoot me down
golf55 replied to Andy Pate's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
you have to be a pro in order to play the olympics. "The top 15 ranked players in the Official World Golf Ranking would qualify for the tournament, regardless of which country they come from. The remaining 45 players would then be selected based on their world ranking, but only if the country they represent does not already have two players competing in the Olympic tournament ." If your american you have to be top 15 in world ranking. Can you be one of the best player in the world in couple yrs? As of current standing in world ranking even phil mickelson, jim furky, ernie eles and dustin johnson can't play in the olympics. You have better chance winning a major than to play in the olympics. I also want to say good luck, so many guys are trying to turn pro. Now with web.com and new changes it's even harder to earn a PGA tour cards. Some guys practice a lot but they can never achieve their goals. If your really serious about this than you need talent + hard work. -
will get on launch monitor sometimes next week or so. Yes by D1 college and I'm working very hard to lose those 10 strokes off my handicap. I guess "stright' meant more accurate but it's really the same. Mid Irons I prefer the old swing, the long and wedges I prefer the new swing but that's where I lose the most distance. Not really sure. I don't lose that much distance with my mid irons but longer clubs and shorter wedges I lose a lot. I prefer the new swing for longer/shorter clubs though. old swing about 295yards- the new swing higher launch and about 265 old 150yard Pitch wedge- the 110yards with pitching. I'm gonna get on launch monitor and get a lesson from PGA pro to see what's going on but everyone eles is telling me the new swing looks a lot better.

good point, The sound on the impact of the ball is really amazing though. I think I'll try to find a swing somewhere in between so I don't lose too much distance but keep the feel of the ball.
-
is higher the ball flight the better? I been trying the new swing and here are pros and cons PROS -higher ball flight?(not sure if this is pro or con) -sounds on the impact is better (doesn't mean the ball trajectory is more stright) - feel on the impact is better (doesn't mean the ball trajectory is more stright) CONS -lose A LOT of distance 15yard or so for iron, 25-35yards for driver, 40yards for pitch wedges -the swing/grip/stand is very awkward Should I change back to my regular swing? the regular swing feels more natural. Now the consistency is pretty much the same. The biggest difference is the ball flight and awkward swing/distance. Golf is competition for me and not a hobby, might also play for D1. Which is better for me in the long run?

After hitting like 30 balls using a driver; when I go back to hit my irons I can't seem to hit them as I regularly do. Is this normal???

I'm planning to enter U.S amature, What is the perfect workout JUST FOR GOLF? I been doing bodybuilding workout 3day split but the sorness is killing my swing. Is like I'm playing 15 handicap!!!! I want to have edurance and strength but still flexable and maintain the same swing. It's totally messing up my swing after chest day. I go to gym 6x a week just for golf but I'm starting to think I'm over training. What is ur experience? What do pros do to drive 330yards? I forgot to mention; I tried not going to the gym and just playing golf but I realize I need to increase my edurance and strength so I can drive far. some of the par 4s is like 510yrs I need to reach those in 2. Should I avoid doing chest? what workouts should I avoid? I always take extra time on the core muscles.

Where to find the BEST PGA instructor
golf55 replied to golf55's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Not the replies I was looking for guys......... I'm just confidence about my skills, all I wanted was to know how to find the best instructor to take me to next step. I understand I need to lower my score and win local championships but in order to do that I need a great instructor. I had couple lessons with different instructor and every single of them had a different method to golf swing. I just wanna find the "correct" way to practice. I'm pretty sure most tour players had one of the best instructor to be where they are. The reason I brought up being pro was to let you guys know how serious I am about taking my game to next level. -
really? It seems that most pros ground the club and than backswing. I only know that kenny perry hoovers the driver and than start backswing.

Where to find the BEST PGA instructor
golf55 replied to golf55's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
about 8months and already shooting low 80s I forgot to mention money is an issue. I just need someone to tell me "HOW" to do make some of the shots. When I'm practicing I don't know if I"m doing it right. According to my local pro I am but I don't think he knows how serious I want to take my game to next level. -
For someone who wants to turn pro, everyone tells me I have great talent. If I can find a really good teaching pro I can turn pro! So how can I find THE BEST instructor who knows his stuff?
-
is it ok to hoover the driver when in stance and do a backswing without touching the groud? Most people tend to start the driver from the ground.
-
It's more smooth than having a slower swing. I hit about 10 GIR so I say that's pretty smooth. I did but all he said was I lose control. and it's not harder to get into position. any PGA tour player with fast backswing tempo?????????
-
what is negative about fast upswing? I can hit the ball alright but during lesson he said SLOW IT DOWN. WHY?
-
180yrs left; behind a tree out of fairway got it within 1 feet for a birdie.
