  1. As you know, we've begun handing out Site Awards , and this thread will track the winners of the award(s) as they're given out. This first month, we're giving out performance awards for the month of October. The "Fun" awards will be given out at a later time, and we'll post here when they are. Without further ado, the winners of the Sand Trap Site Awards for October, 2011 are: The winner of "Rookie of the Month" is the member who registered within the previous 60 days and achieved the most reputation points during the month! Congratulations goes out to zipazoid ! The winner of the "Reviewer of the Month" award goes to the member who posts the most reviews in the calendar month. This month, the first Reviewer of the Month award goes to tommygunuk ! The winner of this award is the member who has added the most tags to threads, images, posts, etc. This month, the award goes to namkrats ! The winner of the "Member of the Month" award goes to the member who receives the most reputation points, as voted on by all the eligible members , in the previous month. The winner of the first Member of the Month award is............................................. Shorty ! If You'd Like to Win... ... Rookie of the Month , you may be out of luck unless you've registered recently. ... Member of the Month , then get out there and make some top-notch posts! ... Reviewer of the Month , then write up some course or equipment reviews! ... Tagger of the Month , then add appropriate tags to threads. It's easy! Just click the "Add Tag" stuff on the right-hand side and add some tags! The awards cycle for November has already begun, of course. We'll have November's awards in early December! Thanks! P.S. The awards don't seem to show up properly right now. We're looking into it.
  2. If you are missing an achievement, please let me know. Currently, achievements are: Hole in One Broke 100 Broke 90 Broke 80 Broke Par Tournament Winner Lowest Score Wins (technically an "Award") Stupid Monkey (ditto) A full list of achievements is always available at http://thesandtrap.com/awards/ . I'll update this list when we ever add achievements. Note: you don't get all the "Broke" achievements if you broke par. Just pick the best one you've achieved. Then try to earn the next best one! For the Tournament Winner achievement, you determine the level of tournament that you believe qualifies. If you want the achievement, please give me some details so I can note it in the accomplishment: the name of the tournament, the dates (or year, or month), etc. If you've won multiple tournaments, pick one. BTW, the "Achievements" are supposed to show up in the "post bit" or "info pane" (where your avatar, etc. is). We've customized them here a bit, but I'm going to work with the developer who did that work to see if he can make it work with the iAwards add-on. I've moved Awards and Achievements both to the bottom. They fit, so why not? Also, "Challenges" are in the sidebar under your avatar/username/etc.
  3. Flop Shot Catch Challenge

Based on discussion in a previous topic… I'm happy to introduce the official Flop Shot Catch Challenge topic! I've created an award (you can see at the top of the Site Awards) and will grant it to anyone who films themselves hitting a flop shot above head height and catching the ball before it hits the ground while still holding onto your wedge, then posts that video here in this thread as an embedded YouTube or Vimeo video for all to enjoy. Hopefully the rules can stay that simple. Please be careful, though, as we do not want anyone injuring themselves trying to do this. Attempt this on flat ground and do not throw your wedge. I'll try to film myself doing it later this afternoon.
  4. Challenge Badge Designs

With the six-foot-putt challenge, we also have the "opposite swing" challenge (kinda), and the flop shot catch challenge. So I'm thinking maybe we should have a separate awards category for "Challenges." I'd like to create a standard background for the award (a circle or square, probably) on which we could put an image showing the specific challenge. The standard background would make it obvious that it's a challenge, with the unique part highlighting what specific challenge it is. Any ideas?
  5. Tomorrow, I'm going to post the yearly awards for our three main awards: Member of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Kickstarter of the Year. Winners of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze level will be chosen. If you'd like to increase your odds* of winning and you're not already a Supporter of the site, there's still time to become a Supporter. * If there's an exact tie, and one member is a Supporter and the other is not, I'll choose the Supporter to win the award. 2014: 2015:
