As much as I love playing golf, my body doesn't. I presently have two painful shoulders and a sore elbow. As a result of playing golf I have had tennis elbow for a year now. I have tried all the exercises, ice pack, and just about every cream on the market, and nothing has helped it. I have been holding off having a Cortisone jab, but alas I have now given in and booked one for a few weeks time. I was wondering how many of you have had to do the same, did it work, and how much did it work ?
I have been having pain in my right wrist for the last year and a half. I saw a hand specialist this week and after an X ray of my wrist, I have arthritis. I do not want to stop playing golf, I love this game. What can I do to keep playing? Change equipment, wrist brace, therapy, medication? This doctor I saw was worthless in giving me ideas to keep playing.
This came out in another post, but I don't know if anyone will address it there so... My golf and bowling seasons overlap by about a month in the fall and likewise in the spring. Last fall my right arm (I'm right handed) really started bothering me. It got to where it was sometimes difficult to even pick up something light (felt like the whole arm was giving out). THe pain seemed to be concentrated in my elbow. Doctor diagnosed it as "tennis elbow" (tendinitis), gave me some ibuprofen and a brace.
