  1. So, the wife and I just watched episode 1. I've read a bit about it, and basically… I don't think I'm going to go along with the story they're going to try to tell. You have a guy with an IQ of 70. Who lit a cat on fire. Who may or may not have screwed his wife on his front lawn. Who ran a woman off the road and threatened her with a gun. Who stole (stupid stuff) from a store. You have a victim who IDed him. You have a sketch artist who says he did not see the picture. You have a guy convicted by a jury of his peers, and an AG who found no wrong-doing in the incorrect original conviction. From what I've read this whole thing is setting me up to make the case that he didn't kill the woman coming up here in the next episode or something, too, but I'm still leaning heavily toward "he probably did." I'm not inclined to take the almost one-sided story quite so readily as they seem to want me to take it. I'm not going to spend a lot of time reading conspiracy theories, but from what I've seen in glances, people are falling in line with that way of thinking: the "they done screwed him AGAIN" line of thinking.
  2. Some questions to kick off the run-up to and playing of the 2017 Masters Toonamint at Augusta National: Is Jordan Spieth the favorite to win after his collapse last year? Is it the best story in golf? If not Jordan, how about Dustin Johnson? Will Tiger Woods make the cut? Will he play? Will he surprise everyone (likely including himself at this point) and finish in the top ten? If he skips this tournament, will this be the last time anyone really cares? Last year's winner Danny Willett… does he contend again, or will his drop in play (evident at the Ryder Cup) continue? Ask any other questions you may have, and answer them, too.
  3. The Open Championship feels like it ended yesterday. Next week, the PGA Championship, major number 4 will be played because, the Olympics. Since it's so soon, CBS's, or is it Nantz's catchphrase, glory's last shot doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it? Does this favor Stenson and Mickelson or are they too tired? Will we hear from the big three? Will another non major winner emerge? Will Nantz make us eye-roll ourselves to death as he opines saccharine about who knows what and name drops his best buds? Is the season basically over... in July? All I know is, this is the major with the most commercials, get that DVR warmed up. Here's the field Here's the course TV: CBS not fearful, but rather relishes quick turnaround between British Open and PGA Championship
  4. I've got the old NBC theme going in my head, but alas, it's Fox, with its updated announcing lineup in its sophomore year. The US Open is my favorite major of the year, and it's at the venerable Oakmont CC. an added bonus, with its church pews bunkers in the great state of Pennsylvania. 5. For the discussion of the 2016 Masters, to be played April 7-10 at some muni course named Augusta National GC. Who will win? Who will be the surprise story? Will Jordan Spieth get out of his funk?
