let's assume you hit these clubs equally well and don't care about forgiveness. loft and distance are similar. which do you put in your bag and why? what would cause you to swap one out for the other? thanks!

Hi, hope this post finds you well! I'm new to this forum and my enjoyment is great after reading other peoples thoughts and posts. Now on to my question: What do you use, a driving iron or 2 iron? Currently I'm using 2-Pithing Wedge irons with low amount of offset (offset is my enemy and the look of it makes me sick! ;))! Last couple of weeks I've noticed that the 3 iron is never used and therefore removing it from the bag. To combat this loss for the few times it's needed my 2 iron will be weak lofted 2 degrees, or I'm getting a driving iron #3. At the moment a 23° driving

Question. I Cary irons up to a 4 and have carried a rescue for a very long time. I hit my 4 about 235 to 240, and hit my rescue about 250. Then I have a 3 wood o hit about 270-275. Because I hit the ball farther than most, and the courses I frequently play are tight I find myself playing iron off of most tees. The issue I have is, if there is any headwind, my rescue balloons and goes nowhere. I am also more consistent with my irons, so I rarely take my rescue out of my bag. I want to replace it with something. I have considered a driving iron or a 2 iron. Any opinions on what direction I

So I have been contemplating taking my 3 iron and reshafting to add a graphite shaft to it. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages? Will it make it easier to to hit? Ive also looked into getting a driving iron but not sure if I would get more out of it then my 3 iron.

I've been thinking about getting a driving iron, I currently play a Nike VRS 21º looking to get a driving iron to replace it. I'm looking for one with some forgiveness and easy to hit. I'm a pretty good ball striker, I saw Cobra drops a new Utility Iron on May 1st but not sure if you'd qualify that as a driving iron though, Let me know what you guys think.

I have decided to sell my 2 iron/hybrid. I bought it earlier this season but after hitting it at the range a few times, it turns out that the yardage does not scale well with the rest of my clubs. This is a pretty good club if you are looking for something shorter than a 3 wood off the tee, but longer than an iron. It has a (stiff) graphite shaft which makes it easy to get the ball elevated from the fairway as well. The shaft length and lie is comparable to that of a standard 3 iron. Loft: 18* Shaft: TFC 949 Stiff flex Grip: Golf Pride Tour Velvet (new) Ball flight: Mid-Low

Hey Universe, I've been fiddling with my set make-up a little (got a 4W, and new wedges)... I seem to hit irons better than Hybrids (I actually hit my E8 4-iron very well, nearly 200 and shall we say straight)... I've been messing around with the idea of a driving iron... More or less an Iron-like hybrid... I'm a Tour Edge Exotics guy for the most part, however other brands are considered... (Just not a DI that will set me back $200)... Looking in around the $100 range.. The only issue I can see is my 4i is 21° so I'd need an 18 or 19° DI (If I was still playing my CU'S, I

I have a taylormade rsi1 three iron and was wondering the difference, if any, between it and the other driving irons on the market like the taylormade udi (ultimate driving iron). Is there something special about one that is labeled a driving iron or is it really no different than the 3 iron you can get with the rsi2 set? My 3 iron has a loft of 17 degrees and you can get a udi with a loft of 18.
