  1. For the first time in a loooong time, I have a GHIN number (I was disappointed my old number was not still available. I still remember it, and it was only six digits). Anyway, I'm entering hole-by-hole scores with the "advanced stats." Now, let's be real: calling them that is a bit silly, as it's just fairways, greens, and putts. Counting stats. But still, it's something. One suggestion I'm passing up the flagpole: auto-select the GIR stat. Pre-select the checkbox for a GIR if the player gets: An albatross or eagle. A birdie with one putt. A par with two putts. A bogey with three putts (and a double with four). Pre-select the red X if the player gets anything but the above. The player can always change it, but this would basically make it so they almost never have to.

    GHIN ?

How does one acquire a GHIN number? I have a whole bunch of golf score cards form the past 2 years and would like to submit them. I do not belong to a club, just golf at city courses. Do I need to be associated with a club or something? Any help would be grateful! Thanks!
  3. If you have GHIN, or a handicapping service that tracks your rounds, post below: 1. How many rounds you played in 2017 2. What was your average score 3. Your high and low rounds. Here is mine on the very bottom. (Just now getting used to the new Blue color used by Florida State Golf Association. Arkansas was green for me until yesterday.
  4. When I record my scores on ghin.com, I use the hole-by-hole and advanced scoring. I like reading the Average/Similar Golfers report. But what I'd really like to see is how I compare to the next lower handicap group. I have two questions: 1. If you work at GHIN, can you put me in touch with your web app team so I can make a suggestion? I can't find a way to do that on the site. 2. If you're between a 5.6 and 6.6 index and use advanced scoring, would you mind posting your Average/Similar Golfers numbers so I can do the comparison myself? Thanks
  5. There's been a lot of talk around the golf world, and in other threads on here, about the eventual move to an International handicapping system. One that will, perhaps, meld some aspects of each the current separate ones. So us Americans might see a drop off in casual rounds counting (read: new rule discounting solo rounds), and thus handicaps might trend up, and those in other parts of the world might see the opposite effect. (The best part is that @Shorty will have one less thing about us sandbagging Americans to complain about. J/K buddy. ) So it got me to wondering what is everybody's current handicap most made up of, and consequently, how much do you think it might be affected in a few years when the changes (granted, we're just speculating what those will actually be so this is only a guess) are all in place? My current last 20 are made up of 5 Tournament rounds, 4 Home rounds, and 11 Away rounds. So where do you stand? Do you exclusive compete? Or are you just a weekend casual player at your home course? Or somewhere in between?
