  1. This is my third year on the high school girls golf team and I have improved a lot since I started. Recently, my junior year season, I was hitting in the upper 40's for example, two weeks ago I shot a 48. This isn't an amazing score but, I was practicing all summer and it was really exciting for me. At practice, on the range, I was hitting every shot perfect. My hybrids, irons, and even my driver was going perfect. Then, my coach gave us a four day weekend, and I didn't pick up the club at all. I was excited to get back, but, at practice my first day back It was like I've never played before. I couldn't even hit my sand wedge. This happened for two days and my coaches help did little, my swing just felt wrong. The next day I had a match and scored a 72... on 9 holes. Even at the start of my golf career, I didn't score this poorly. So, the next day I went to our country club pros in search of advice. Both pros helped with me a lot and still I couldn't hit it. Now it has been two weeks and I thought my swing would come back. Everything about my swing feels wrong, the grip is uncomfortable, even though it is correct. Most of the time I hit it and it goes far left, but then sometimes it goes right. But, most of the time it just skids across the ground. Every time I get help from the pro it is something else, my mistakes aren't even consistent. I have had to use only my pitching wedge and putter for the matches I've had to play in. If anyone knows anything, please please help!
  2. Hi, I hope you are having a good day. I am new to the world of golf, I am having a difficult time getting my swing in control, I have practically been laughed off the green lol, if anyone has any pointers please let me know. Thank you so much, Elaine
  3. 8 Iron Video on Hudl Technique Play this Golf video with Wyatt Tramburg Untagged Video on Hudl Technique Play this Other video with Wyatt Tramburg I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years My current handicap index or average score is: 96 My typical ball flight is: straight The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: shank Videos: [Delete this, Embed Videos Here - https://thesandtrap.com/how-to/embed-videos/] I’ve been struggling with a shank ever since I hurt my shoulder. That or I bounce the club off the ground and flip my hands over. I don’t know what to do anymore.
  4. So I have been struggling with my swing lately. I feel like I'm sliding my hips and flipping my hands. I hit almost every shot very thin(no divot) and sky high. I used to hit my 8 iron around 160 yards, and now I am struggling to get it 145.. I also tend to fall back on my heels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (Video attached)
  5. Just wondering if anyone has any idea who made these, their age and stuff. Please let me know. Any information is useful! Thanks!! Mariah this is 1 ^^ and this is another 👇
  6. I used to be able to hit driver. It wasn’t always accurate. But I still hit it. Now something has gone wrong.... my swings off and I can’t figure it out. I can feel it though. In my wrist. It’s like it’s rolling. But I can’t find a swing plane that keeps the wrist from rolling. I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers? I have a scramble tomorrow and I would like to be able to carry my team on drives because they’re older gentleman(40-60) and I’m 21 so I’m hoping to get this dialed in by tomorrow. If I can get the swing plane and wrist down right I can get the accuracy down quick. All my other clubs are accurate. 915D2. Even though it doesn’t matter. Just thought the Titleist guys would help me quicker
  7. So im going to be buying a new shaft for a driver i bought. dont like the shaft at all. its a 915D head. When i cut the shaft how should i measure it? I need a 43 inch shaft, thats what i was fitted for. So is that measurement from the tip of the adapter to the end of the shaft before i put the grip on? Or do i cut the shaft at 43" then put the adapter on? Thanks in advance
  8. PLEASE Help! Can anyone recommend a or some good drills that will help me learn to close my club face. About 60% of my swings are either a straight or push type slice. My club plane and hand plane are good. My back swing angle is good. My tempo is good. I set up to the ball and get aligned well. My grip is above par. I just can't seem to bring my club face into square at impact. I previously thought that I was simply going in to out on my down swing. By all video accounts that was the case. So, I worked on it. I placed a water bottle about 12" in front of and slightly outside my right toes. That got my club plane on track. My hand plane has always been consistent.... PLEASE help!!!!
  9. Hello guys, I'm starting to play golf again after six years of not swinging a club. Lessons with a pro is something I will be looking into but, in the meantime, wondered if I could ask for some thoughts from this forum? Below is an embedded video of my swing. It's the first time I've been to the driving range in a very long time... I think the basics are still there but I've lost all knowledge of how to self-analyse so any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm 29, around 90kg and used to play off 12 (although, as I said, that was some years ago now). I hit around 250 yards with a driver and have always struggled with a slice. However, I have noticed that my swing has changed since I last played, probably due to me being a lot heavier now. Thanks in advance, Kirby Videos:
  10. https://thesandtrap.com/b/training/build_your_own_8_x_8_indoor_putting_green_cheaply I wrote that awhile ago, and, well, that putting green "worked" just fine, but: It was small. It was "unfinished" looking. I mean, look… Anyway, I have a 12' x 7' piece of turf and a newly finished basement section begging for a little putting green on which I can work on things. Here's the area: The putting green (which has shelves on it to help flatten out some bumps and ridges from being rolled up) is 12' x 7'. The red area is about 12' x 5' (it's 7' if you go from the wall to the column). So, i could just lay the carpet there, frame the edges to make it look nice… and… have a perfectly flat green (roughly - I'm sure the floor has a tiny slant to it). But, I wouldn't have any holes to put to, and I wouldn't be able to change the break. That's what I want. In fact, my wish list includes: 1 to 3 holes. The ability to change the slant from being 0 to 4% either left-to-right or right-to-left. The first requires the entire putting surface to be at least about five inches off the ground. The cups are 4.25" deep. I have foam blocks I can get from @david_wedzik, but I could also just glue my grass to a board, or stretch it and not glue it, or just put glue in little spots to help hold it in place… I won't be chipping to the green, so the foam isn't a high priority. What I'd like help with is figuring out how to build something that will work as I need: to let me change the slope on at least one side (I could put the cups on opposite sides to get both breaks if only one edge can be lifted and support up to about 250 pounds without bending. Remember, though: it should either have something mechanical (like four screws, one in each corner? hydraulics seems like overkill…) to change the slope OR be light enough for me to change the slope. I also don't really care about lefty putters. @NatalieB and I are righties. Here's a mockup of the putting green itself: I added two grey holes at the bottom just as holes I could add eventually, if necessary. I might not even add them at first. Maybe if the carpet gets worn from standing in the same spot putting to the one hole? Anyway, sides B and D would need to be able to go up and down, and while on the 0-5% slope, to support the weight of a person walking on the thing. And they should be able to go up and down relatively easily. Eventually I would like to not have to go downstairs to change the slope for the kiddo. Beyond that… two "perks" would be nice: The edges: I probably don't want balls rolling off the edges, but I don't want something so high that it's going to interfere with many putting strokes. That means a 1" lip would suffice, really, above the green surface… but at the same time, it feels like 1" is enough to interfere with a putting stroke if the ball is only a foot or 15" away. If I put only one hole in, I could just have a bumper behind it, and keep the rest flush with the putting surface. If the edges had hardware to which you could attach things (like little metal spikes, for elevated string lines and the like), cool. If the edges are wood, that's pretty easily rigged up with a drill, though, so I'm not too worried about that. So, how would you do it? Help me get this done.
  11. Has anyone heard of swinglync? New kickstarter and I'm wondering if I should support?
  12. Hello everyone, i am a 10 handicap my drives are from 240-260 7 iron 165..the last 4 months i don't know what happen now i am struggling to get my drive 220 and my 7 iron 150!!! Side not i have been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck shoulder blade area about the same amount of time. 13. Hi Everybody, For the past month, I've been struggling with a major issue, or issues in my swing. In the downswing, my left leg (while initially bent after the takeaway), starts to lock up and straighten. This avoids me from getting any weight onto my left side (I'm a Righty, btw), causing a great deal of power loss in my swing. In addition, in order to compensate for the straightening of my leg, my head dips down, too. What are some tips and drills I can do to get a correct weight shift and avoid my left leg from straightening? If videos and or photos are needed, please tell me. Thanks (P.S. This is my first post so sorry if I messed something up)
  14. Hey guys new poster here! Just wondering if anyone could have a look at my swing videos and give me some tips. I was hitting a nice little fade with my irons but lately I've been push fading my iron shots mainly from 8 iron up, wedges and 9 iron are pretty straight. Driver is ok but I hit it low and have a large fade which on occasion will be a large slice. And as for the hybrid I will usually hook it like a bitch!! Any tips will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance everyone. So turns out I'm not sure how to post the videos on here as I can only upload 5mb??

    My Swing (Kor)

Hi all, Was hoping I could get some advice/thoughts. Been playing almost 2 years (17 handicap).. I always seem to hit a wall though with all irons and go through a couple months of consistent shanks / mis hits. (Without exaggerating its like I am a beginner again) Going by the video i feel the error comes during my backswing - head and body come forward causing a shank. Any other tips/thoughts welcome! Why does this happen and how can I eliminate this and return to consistent golf!? Thanks Kor I've been Playing Golf for: 20 months My current handicap index or average score is: 17 My typical ball flight is: high The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: shank or shot across the ground Videos: [Delete this, Embed Videos Here]
  16. Hi There, My company is hosting a golf tournament at a very nice course in California. The group of people we work with are very mixed when it comes to being serious and fun. Some enjoy fun/silly games and other strictly want to play golf. One of the booths on the course will be a trivia booth about our company's history, but I am trying to come up with another booth on the course with a golf related activites. Anyone have anything that was pretty successful with a mixed crowd? Thanks!
  17. Let's suppose you have seven golfers: A scratch golfer we'll call "A." A 2-handicapper we'll call "NV." Two 3-handicapper we'll call "SS" and "AS." Two 5-handicappers we'll call "CS" and "RM." An 8-handicapper we'll call "ZM." Z 0 A 2 B 3, C 3 D 5, E 5 F 8 Z is me, and I don't care if I play in the game(s). The other golfers would like me to, but it complicates things a little bit to have an odd number. Maybe I can play a "rover" each day or something. I could play the front nine with one group, and the back nine The golfers will be playing six rounds of golf. I'd like to possibly consider doing a "team game" where individuals get the points for themselves and then the teams are shuffled for the next round. If a team consisting of ABC beats DEF 2-1, every player on the ABC team has 2 points in their total. At the end, we divide up the $30 each player puts in (I don't put anything in and I'm not eligible to win anything), and the prizes are split up like: $60, $50, $40, $20, $10, $0. So what are your ideas? What kinds of game could we play? Since there are six golfers and six rounds, the teams for the first five rounds would ensure that everyone plays with and against everyone else: ABC DEF 3 ACD BEF 3 ADE BCF 3 AEF BCD 3 AFB CDE 3 ----------------- Total 18 Those are the point totals for a Nassau. So a player could have 18 points, 0 points, or something more likely in the middle. For the final round, maybe this would work nicely… the last player picks his opponent, with each hole worth one point. That way you could see some big swings that final day. Plus they'd actually be playing in different groups so they wouldn't know what the other player scored. So, in typing this out, I kind of like this format. It feels like if I can come up with five different types of games that can be played as a team Nassau, I'm home free. So, five games that can be played as a Nassau? Low three scores. Low score. High score. Best two scores. Best and worst scores. That kind of format would actually work out pretty well if I'm playing as a rover (front nine with one team, second nine with another team). What do you think? That could work out pretty well, and as I'm not involved, I can tabulate the scores at the end of each round. P.S. All the scores would be net. I'd figure out a fair handicap for everyone. If you have another way to do this that you think is more fair, or more fun (we don't want to have to use a calculator at the end of each day for this), or both… please let me know and post your ideas here!
  18. I wanted to share my excitement that I was able to help a golfer out the other day with their game. I figured I could start a thread on how any of you have helped someone with their golf game. I'm thinking it could be in anyway, but share all the details. It could be giving them tips, equipment, paid for their gold ect.. I will obviously start us off.. I convinced my long time playing partner (of almost 3 years now) to join evolvr.. He has always been critical of me talking about picture changing and taking lessons mainly because he never saw my scores getting any better than his.. It all changed a couple of months ago when I started breaking a 100 regularly and now shoot around 95 with a low score of 89 around a month and a half ago.. He is finally convinced that I have started to improve while he is shooting the same scores over a 100.. I helped him take videos of his swing, explained the 5 keys again for the 100th time and then helped him set up an account on evolvr and he is so excited to see what they come back with and to get to work on his swing. He is now committed to the long run of changing the picture and understands that there is no magic pill or tip that will make him better instantly. I will work with him and hopefully this will help get me a practice partner as well so that we can keep motivating each other. What have you done for a golfer lately?
  19. Hi everyone! Fisrt of all, excuse me if my english is not that good, I'm a french Canadian! So lately I've been searching for new clubs because I can't hit anymore my old ones (Taylormade RBZ reg flex). I'm searching for a set of irons and woods/rescues, but I already have a Driver (Cobra Bio Cell+). I know that I hit a long draw and I'm hitting like 150-155 yards with my PW (no jokes). I tried Callaway XR Pro x-stiff of one of my friend and Taylormade Burner 2.0 stiff, but I didn't get the results I was searching for. I don't know if I should go right now to x-stiff because I know that my swing speed is a bit high and I'm only 16 so I'm still growing but i want to get clubs I will keep at least 2-3 years. I'm also a 9 handicap. So here's my question: Which clubs should I buy to match my natural draw, with a budget of max 700-800 $ PS: I worked a lot this summer and I want to buy a golf accessory, I already have a Bushnell and I'll maybe buy myself the Game Golf thing but I'm not sure.. I'd like to put approximatly 150$. Thanks!
