  1. Currently I only have 13 clubs in the bag and I have been considering getting another long club to fill in at the top. My bag goes from 4 iron (21*) to a hybrid that plays at 16.25*. I am thinking about getting a 3 wood and raising the loft of my hybrid to 18.5*. Would the 3* yardage gap between the two make sense, or would I be better off just adding a 3 iron? I’m also very interested to hear how everyone has their longer clubs set up.
  2. Callaway Golf today officially announced their new Big Bertha Irons and Big Bertha Hybrids, which are available nationwide on January 18, 2019, and available for pre-order starting November 30th. Both are designed with advanced technologies to deliver long distance and easy launch. Big Bertha Irons Callaway is calling these their easiest to hit distance iron. They feature a new technology called the Suspended Energy Core, which they say is the engine of the Big Bertha Irons. Per Callaway: The Big Bertha Irons also feature the 360 Face Cup which combined with the Suspended Energy Core produce higher ball speeds and longer distance than the Big Bertha OS Irons. A stock set is 4-AW. MSRP will be $1,200 for steel and $1,300 for graphite. Big Bertha Hybrids Callaway's new hybrids will feature their Jailbreak technology with adjustability for the first time in a hybrid with a new OptiFit Hosel system. Per Callaway: The Big Bertha Hybrids are progressively shaped to be both appealing and forgiving, and are packed with high MOI technology. Hybrids are available 3H-8H. MSRP will be $269.99 per club.
  3. I have a habit of rotating my fairway woods. Once I throw down the bucks for a driver, it stays put for at least 5 years. My irons (MP-14), over 20 years now. My putter changed from a Ping B-60 (20 years) to an Odyssey Marksman (past 10 years). Still have the B-60. My wedge is Cleveland Tour Action 56 deg that I've had for over 30 years. I've killed a rattlesnake with it. The fairway woods are like old girlfriends, you think about them once in a while, but the memory fades. There is always that one that seem to stick in your mind the longest. Mine was a Ping ISI 3- wood with a regular flex steel shaft. So I searched and searched without my wife knowing, and set a date ( 1 week shipping) to get reacquainted with my old friend:) Diablo move over..... Here's a picture. After all these years, I don't look that good either.
  4. Hi guys, I know how this is going to sound (Oh no, Shane's asking another set make-up/gap analysis question. Ahhhhhhh! Let's run and hide!) But it's a very valid question... I hit my 3 hybrid pretty well, (I finally stopped pulling it) but I believe it's too close in distance to my 4-wood (225 vs 215). My 4-hybrid is around 200 ish... ( I have a little gap down to the 5-iron... frankly because I just don't hit it much) would I be safe to drop the 3-hybrid? I thought of carrying both a 5h and a 5i to fix the "gapping issue" but I usually just grip down on the 4h when I'm between the two... I understand it drops me to 13 clubs; but the other alternative is to drop the 4- wood but that creates too much of a gap.
  5. I have been having trouble properly filling my gapping when I get over 200 yards right now I am hitting my 4 iron 205 and my 3 wood goes 240. I am currently playing a 3 hybrid but I don't like the feel of it. Im thinking about adding maybe a 5 wood. i have a three iron currently out of my bag because it is difficult to hit and it only goes about 210 right now.
  6. Hello TST Universe, I recently picked up fitted Tour Edge EX9 Driver, 4-wood and 3-hybrid... My clubhead speed is around 105 mph... I was "technically" fitted for Stiff flex, but I decided to get X-flex to tighten the dispersion some... Good move, or should I have stuck with S-flex?
