    Club Fitting

Hello my name is Charles. Recently started playing golf. Purchased a used set of ping irons and I am wondering should I be fitted to them. thanks.
  2. I am new to the scene here in Carson and Reno I am from the Bay Area in California I enjoy often a lot of the beautiful costal golf spots there, few buddies of mine have brought me to a few nice gold grounds out here. I wanted to know most personally recommend golf grounds here in Northern Nevada. Seeking to find spots, I’m no professional but I enjoy golfing for the fun and the atmosphere of it. Shared some pictures of fun times in Pebble Beach beautiful weather love it there I go often.
  3. Hi all.. I've played golf off and on over the past 30 years (more off than on) but I'm picking it up again.. I've always used my Dads old clubs (767 pro series) which are old tech in a modern world, and I want to get modern... All the advice I see on buying clubs talks about beginners.. I'm not quite that.. I can, for example, hit my old 3 iron 180 ish metres, straight, as well as chip, pitch, putt etc...... but I've never bought clubs.. what advice would you give a first time buyer who is not strictly a beginner? NB I live in France, if anyone has any good buying experiences...
  4. Hey guys - been awhile since I posted, but i wanted to introduce everyone to a new version of golf I have been playing with my friends the last couple years... Click To See Rules This is a really fun way to play because it takes a lot of stress off the blow up holes because you are always playing for points over score. Anyone else do anything like this with their buddies?
  5. Hello, everyone. So, after over a decade I finally decided to buy new irons rather than continue to use the box set I bought from Sports Authority (are they still in business?). The new irons are scheduled to come in in about a week and a half and I had a couple of questions I was hoping people might be able to help me out with. 1) When I get the irons, is there anything I should do with them before I use them to practice or play? 2) Is there anything I can or should do to, for lack of a better phrase, keep them looking pretty and shiny? Thanks for any advice!
  6. New to the game and forums just wanted to introduce myself. from left to right in the photo is me(robert) my brother and my friend, If I was going to play 3 man best ball this would be my group.
  7. Hello Sand Trap community, I have always been a CD-ROM (just read & never writes) of your forum and another for quite a while now. Just wanted to join the community and say hi to you all. A little background of myself: I am 29, golfed on & off for 15+ years (most rounds I played a year was probably 15 though I do hit the range 2-3 times a week). I have a decent swing with a faster tempo than most (will post a video when I have the chance)...average Asian built so I do not hit it a long way (average 265 carry) Never got my handicap card but my best round was a 73 at
  8. Hello Sandtrappers, My name is Justin Tobin. I'm 32 years old and live in the Philadelphia area. I work as an event staging video technician for corporate (and collegiate) meetings and events. I sometimes work events at very nice golf courses, and it's torture looking out at the course not being able to play. My golfing background is not extensive at all, but it's somewhat interesting. I began playing at 15 years old with a set of junior lefty clubs; I'm naturally left-handed. I took two group lessons and played a few rounds but gave up the game about a year later due to a higher int
  9. Hi there, thanks for reading also, I signed up specifically to seek help with this unique issue so I am grateful of any feed back. Okay so heres some background, Ill try to not be overly wordy. I am 28, not the best at golf and was given a set of taylormade R7 irons years ago. I usually shoot 105-110 but I hit pretty decent shots and 3 putt or lose a ball and 1 putt. I have started golfing more and wanted to get a newer (used set under 250) of irons. Hit a few dif 7 irons, jpx-800, tm 2.0, ping g15 and liked jpx's the best. So I found a set on ebay, ordered them, they were supposed to sho
  10. Hello, I'm Jack, and I'm an intermediate golfer. I know how to play the game and I'm just working on improving my mechanics and such. However, my clubs are a clear beginning set and are absolute crap and I need some suggestions on clubs. I have a budget of about $400-500. I am fine with a complete set, or a mix of wood, iron, and wedge sets and a driver. I'm looking for whatever gets me the most for my money. For irons, I'd prefer graphite, but I'm fine with whatever. Please send me either a complete set or parts to make a set and the total price. Thanks, Jack
  11. Hello everyone, I am a college student in Ireland and I am currentley doing some project research about the equipment changes in golf. I am trying to get peoples opinion on the topic of equipment changes and advances through the last number of decades. My questions are as follows: Has the game of golf become easier from the changes? Has the skill factor decresed due to "easy to hit clubs"? Would the game still be as enjoyable if the introduction of Graphite and Stainless steel never happened? And finall
  12. I am a fan of all things golf clubs and technology. However, since I work in the business and have to keep up with the technologies of each club and be able to sell those benefits to my members, I would like to be able to keep the technologies together. What makes it a Titleist, what changes and beliefs does Callaway believe in. Taylormade has befuddled me in the last couple years, every 6 months they have introduced a new driver, new FW woods and seemingly "The Next Great Thing", however most of these attempts have fallen flat. I don't think I am the only one who thinks that? SLDR, Jets
