  1. Hi all, I'm new to the golf scene but have admired from afar. My dad is heavily into golf, showed me the love for golf courses, and convinced me to be a groundskeeper so he can get free golf during the summers. I used to play paintball and rugby but stopped when I realized dislocating my jaw and breaking my nose often was not a good thing. I graduated from college this past April and will be moving to Seattle. Saw that golf was plentiful and that the sand strap is very lively and informative. I hope I can learn from people here, it's nice to meet you all.
  2. Thanks for welcoming me to your org, I'm coming from Va bch va area. I will add my avatar later, I cannot do so on the computer that I'm presently working on Once again Thanks
  3. I am looking to get some Polara golf balls (the ones that go straight) repainted to look like a legitimate brand to prank friends (and foes) alike. Where/how could I get this done convincingly?
  4. Hello Sand Trap community, I have always been a CD-ROM (just read & never writes) of your forum and another for quite a while now. Just wanted to join the community and say hi to you all. A little background of myself: I am 29, golfed on & off for 15+ years (most rounds I played a year was probably 15 though I do hit the range 2-3 times a week). I have a decent swing with a faster tempo than most (will post a video when I have the chance)...average Asian built so I do not hit it a long way (average 265 carry) Never got my handicap card but my best round was a 73 at
  5. Hi all, It really is the time of year to snag awesome deals and I frequently check one site specifically and came across a killer deal on hybrids. I'm a regular from the site and have received nothing but fantastic quality and service. If you're all looking for a heck of a deal ($50) on hybrids (Adams, Callaway, and Tour Edge), definitely check it out. This isn't some spam thing either. I've attached proof of purchase so you all know I'm not shady. There's an additional 20% off the purchase as well until noon tomorrow. Happy shopping....and if you purchase something...YOURE WELCOME.
  6. G'morning all! Its a chilly-ish morning here in Chicago which made me want to ask this to you all: where do you personally draw the line to play given the weather and conditions? I know many people who put away the clubs when it drops below 60 degrees and also know a few who will play until a foot of snow is on the ground (even then I'm sure they'll try to somehow). With the colder and wetter conditions and as winter begins to take over, do you all also continue your play/practice indoors at ranges or simulators? I personally do not play below about 40 degrees with a wind chill. It
  7. Turkey day is here! While we all enjoy quality time with family, friends, pets, food, or any combination of them, there are plenty of golf deals all around us today and in the month to come! Just wondering: What are some areas of your bag that you're hoping to upgrade, add to, or simply something to purchase in excess this holiday season? And what are some sites and stores you'll be keeping an extra eye on? Personally, I've been able to get a hold of a Wilson FG Wedge last week that went on a pre-black Friday sale and it was something I've been eyeing for awhile. On the same note, my fath
  8. I've struggled with what to blog, especially in a golf context. I know more about IT, programming, and databases than I do about golf. It finally hit me. I started writing a handicap tracking system. Knowing that I was moving to Florida this year, I didn't renew my membership to the golf association / GHIN, so I lost my official handicap. In my new job, they use the MySQL database system extensively, so I needed to learn it. I am a seasoned veteran in MS SQL Server, so I decided to dive in. Is there a better way to learn a database system than to write something golf related? I think not. Actu

See how long this discussion can last or should I say how long we can be civil. Day 1 of the RNC is in the books. Just some random thoughts. Marcus Lattrell (Lone Survivor) may have given the best speech of the night. Although while he said he was speaking from the heart and not the tele-prompter, he said exactly what was seen on the prompter! But he has earned a pass and generally gave a good speech. Patricia Smith's speech, while emotional was sad but completely, factually inaccurate. "I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son -- personally." While she is e
