So I have been playing for a short time, 19 years old now. I had always played once in a while but got addicted in 2014. Goal was to break 90 at the end of the summer, and i did. Following year got a membership and played all the time, goal was to break 80, and i did pretty early, finished the summer around a 7-8 handicap, (didnt keep an index at the time). Kept all my scores from 2016 and signed up for Golf Association of Ontario to play in tournaments this year. Had to input my scores and i am now a 2.6 handicap. 6'5" 230, two torn shoulders, and in the woods Jk, but really. First post here, but not new to a forum community. Quick back ground. Played baseball til I was 24, have a slap tear in both my labrums from it, and need some help with swing path due to range of motion. My lead (left) shoulder has a tendency to click when my backswing is on the ideal path, so my natural path gets reallyyy shallow to subconsciously avoid that pain. Whats up guys, this is my second post on here, i'm an avid golfer and have been since i started in the summer of 2014, now i only just started keeping a rough handicap through usga from last October until the season was over, and it varies from 8-9. now i know this has nothing to do with handicaps, but every time i play, my general expectation is to shoot sub 80, good rounds would have me around 77. This upcoming season im working at a golf course which will give me free rounds whenever i want and half off driving range, what im posting is about, is how can i hone my game to get my handicap do
I started playing golf at the beginning of the year and got a Golf Australia handicap of 27.5 in April, I have set myself a goal of getting to scratch in 18 months. 8 months later I have a GA handicap of 13.7. Is my goal possible? Is there anyone out there that has done the same who can give some solid advice?
