  2. U.S. Open 2019: USGA Confidential - Golf Digest Phil's fiasco (and others) have exposed a deepening rift between the ruling body and the game's best players, who once even considered a boycott of the U.S. Open I'm siding more with this article: Criticisms of the USGA and the U.S. Open have gone too far Are there problems with the USGA and the U.S. Open? Sure there are. Are the players and caddies overreacting? Absolutely. What do you think?
  3. USGA’s Mike Davis turns focus from course set-up to CEO duties | Golf Channel Beginning with this year’s championship at Pebble Beach, USGA CEO Mike Davis is voluntarily stepping away from his longtime lead role in setting up the golf course at U.S. Opens. Good move. Let a guy focus mostly on this, not being CEO and also doing the grunt work of course setup. I'm sure Mike Davis will still have a lot of input, he just won't be the point man in charge.
  4. I'm stealing this from GCA: Are today's PGA Tour players whiny, spoiled babies? I'm not one for beating a dead horse, but as articles like this one continue to trickle out, my only impression is that the modern professional has become so obsessed with a different game than the one played by the masses that anything besides a standard PGA Tour setup is immediately labeled as "unfair." They might as well hold the US Open on Trackman. Otherwise, how will the "best" player be assured of winning?! What I saw on Saturday at Shinnecock was a golf course that was playing very, very hard in w
  5. For the discussion of Tiger's 15th major victory! </sarcasm>
  6. Had a discussion with some golfing friends yesterday about course set ups for tournaments. Long story short. If all tournaments in the PGA were set up like this year's USO was, (maybe a little less tough) would the top 10/20 OWGRs have the same names listed with the way today's tournaments are set up? In other words, would today's top players still be the top players if they had to play on much tougher courses all the time. A lot of big name players were beat up pretty bad in this year's USO. Why were they not able to adapt to the tougher conditions?
  7. Thoughts on this article http://suindependent.com/us-open-erin-hills/ and the open in general?
  8. http://www.golfchannel.com/news/rex-hoggard/playing-percentages-tour-players-look-us-open-purse/ Uhhh, yeah. Good luck with that one, guys. I encourage those who want to respond to read the original article.
  9. Predict the Winner of the 2016 U.S. Open with The Sand Trap and Sun Mountain! WHO do you think will WIN the U.S. Open in 2016 at Oakmont and what SCORE will they shoot? PLEASE READ the rules thoroughly. Each contest people are disqualified for simple mistakes. To enter, post your answer right here in this thread along with the bold text "I am Staying Ahead of the Game with Sun Mountain!" Note that you are NOT predicting who will finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; you are picking three players to win and the score(s) they will shoot. The first choice carries tremendous weight (
