  1. I plan to watch as much as I can!
  2. I have osteoarthritis in both hands. It's worse in my thumbs and wrists, especially in my right hand. I'm looking for advice on golf gloves for this condition. I wear a regular golf glove on my left hand, but I'm wondering if I need to wear one that helps with the condition. Yesterday, I tried wearing my bulky neoprene brace on my right hand, and I think it actually helped! But, it was hot and the brace got sweaty and gross! Any advice?!
  3. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2018/04/04/augusta-national-announces-new-tournament-women-before-masters/485455002/ Chairman Fred Ridley said the Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship will feature 72 players. In 2019, the first two rounds of the 54-hole stroke play event will be conducted at the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta before moving for the final round at Augusta National Golf Club.
  4. Hi All, I’m looking to purchase irons, wedges, drivers and looking for recommendations. My selection is very limited because I am a lefty/female with a swing speed that averages around 65. I am presently using Callaway’s Strata set and would like to upgrade. Can any of you assist me with recommendations? Thanks!
  5. Summer Redstone allegedly gave over 70 million dollars to women for sex. Damn. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/12/redstone-allegedly-paid-millions-to-mistresses-and-others-while-getting-sexual-favors.html Holland then offered a laundry list of unidentified women and the staggering amounts they received from Redstone "just while Sydney was living with Redstone." "He gave one mistress — an aspiring reality show producer — approximately $21 million," Holland wrote. "He gave a flight attendant on the CBS corporate jet just approximately $18 million." "He later slept with her sister, who he gave approximately $6 million." "He gave another woman who he had formally met through Patti Stanger [the matchmaker] $10-11 million." "He gave another mistress — who claimed to be a model — over $7 million." "He gave a friend of his grandson's girlfriend a job at Showtime® and approximately $6 million." "He gave another mistress approximately $1.5 million." "He gave an ex-fiancée and Paramount employee an undisclosed amount." "He paid for a college student's tuition at the University of Southern California and gave her an undisclosed amount."
  6. I have been enthralled with the Golf Channel's coverage of the NCAA Championships for the last several years, and I imagine this year will be no different. This year, they are hosting it at Eugene Country Club (just off the campus of the University of Oregon). For those who haven't watched, here's a quick rundown of the format: Days 1-4 - 72 hole individual stroke play to determine the individual National Champion, as well as (and more importantly) the eight teams who will compete in the team match play finals. Each team has 5 players competing and the 4 best scores for each day count towards the cumulative team total. Day 5 - Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the team match play. 5 singles matches. Day 6 - Team match play finals. First the women, who started Friday, with the first day of TV coverage being yesterday, or the final day of the individual. The individual championship is one thing (a Freshman from Duke ran away with it this year - winning by 7 or 8 shots), but the team fight for the final eight is the most intriguing. It's so easy to make up or lose one, two, three strokes in a matter of minutes. Yesterday there were 4 or 5 different teams holding down that 8th spot throughout the day, which ultimately went to home team Oregon after Oklahoma State and Arizona had chances on the last few holes to catch or pass them but fell short. The final totals from yesterday: Anybody who is watching, feel free to discuss it here (I'll probably disappear until late tonight because I'm recording it all and will watch later) ... and if you weren't planning on watching, I recommend you give it a try. It's a lot of fun! Here's a few random photos: Individual champion, Virginia Elena Carta (will also be competing in team match play) The #4 seeded Washington University team. This was the pivotal moment in OK State missing out - that girl went bunker-bunker-bunker on her last hole, leading to a triple (I believe) and they fell 3 shots short.
  7. The 30th USGA U.S. Women's Mid-Am (25+) kicks off tomorrow. I'm a rules official (tomorrow in the first stroke play round as a checkpoint official, later on walking with a group) at the championship, and today at the rules committee meeting I was the only person there without a blue blazer. Maybe mine is in the mail. At any rate… I don't expect there to be too many posts on this, but many here have played Kahkwa, and the course is in good shape (hoping it doesn't pour tomorrow), and there are some good golfers playing…
  8. With the golf industry talking of making the game more friendly to women, Golf Buddy has delivered the sleek new LD2 GPS watch. It offers GB’s first every dual-shot feature, which determines how far each shot is hit for each hole. The display screen is bordered high and low by 18 Swarovski crystals. Just as club manufacturers have started designing clubs just for women, GolfBuddy has done the same with distancing devices . Earlier GPS watches were unisex items that were just too bulky for women, says Edna Lee De Pamphilis. Women have smaller wrists, so the LD2 takes this into account its slender stock white watch band. But there’s more. GB offers a mix of several different colored bands to allow women to accessorize the watch for different outfits. MSRP for the watch is $249. Golf Buddy entered the market in 2003 with hand-held rangefinder, and has advanced to the point of being the only company that offers all four categories of golf distancing devices: talking, laser, watches and hand-held. “We offer golfers the full dish,” says De Pamphilis. Besides the specific products, GB offers consumers the benefits of their proprietary database of more than 38,000 golf courses worldwide. She notes your don’t pay extra to get downloads of overseas courses. “This benefits international golf travelers, because there’s no additional fees (when playing) outside the USA because GolfBuddy has its own database.” Golf Buddy has refined their laser systems so that are not a safety threat to the eye, which has earned them a Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Class 1 certification.at, says DePamphilis. DePamphilis studied psychology and criminal justice at University of California – Irvine, with hopes of becoming an FBI agent. She ended up going into marketing for the Brown Shoe Co.’s athletic footwear division before switching to Golf Buddy. Other new GB products include the PT4 Advanced GPS, which gives golfers a full-hole and full green views on its screen, and a digital scorecard. MSRP is $449.99 Also, GB offers the Voice 2 audio GPS. You clip it to your belt, or your hat brim, and touch it to get a voice-announced distance reading. Many people prefer this to having to look at a digital display in the sunlight, or taking a range-finder reading for every shot. It comes in rose gold and royal blue.
