The Bunker’s Dozen is making its long-awaited return after being absent for the past year. Right now, there are two dominant forces in golf. Tiger Woods is on another great run on the PGA Tour and Lorena Ochoa is completely dominating the LPGA Tour.
Tiger has won four of the five events he has entered in 2008, and Ochoa has won three of the four she has entered so far this season. These two battle for the top spot in this month’s ranking, but who else will find a spot in the April edition of Bunker’s Dozen? Read on to find out. Lorena Ochoa tops this month’s list after winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA Tour’s first major of the season. The win was Ochoa’s third in a little over a month.
Tiger Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in dramatic fashion but had his win streak snapped at the WGC-CA Championship. Tiger has his sights set on a fifth green jacket.
Geoff Ogilvy outlasted Tiger Woods and a host of other world-class golfers en route to winning the WGC-CA Championship. Ogilvy followed the win with a tie for second in Houston.
Augusta National is in the news again because it’s Masters time! The changes have been few and far between this year which is definitely a good thing.
Bernhard Langer continued his solid rookie season on the Champions Tour by winning two more tournaments in March.
Henrik Stenson played well enough last month to vault into the top spot on the European Tour Order of Merit.
Sean O’Hair won the PODS Championship in comeback fashion and finished in a tie for third at the Arnold Palmer Invitational a week later.
Johnson Wagner outlasted a very strong field to win the Shell Houston Open. Wagner earned an invitation to The Masters in the process.
The Tavistock Cup continued to gain momentum last month as the home team, Isleworth, outlasted Lake Nona.
Louise Friberg was the only golfer other than Lorena Ochoa to win an LPGA Tour event last month. That counts for something doesn’t it?
Ernie Els won The Honda Classic early last month. The win was Els’ first on the PGA Tour since 2004.
Andres Romero picked up his first PGA Tour win at last month’s Zurich Classic. Romero played well, but he also got an assist from the choking dog, Woody Austin.
