Volume One Hundred Ninety Seven

It’s British Open week, and here are your news and notes as we get ready for the only non-HD golf we’ll watch all year.

Hittin' the LinksWell hello again and welcome to Hittin’ the Links. It’s British Open week again: is everyone out there ready to awaken at the crack of dawn to watch golf? At least those of us in the U.S. will have to unless you want to catch the highlight reel on Golf Central. Thank goodness for DVRs: I will just have to get my Open fix on tape delay.

In this Open Week edition of HTL we have a strong British feel. First we look at who gets in and who decided to take the week off, next we discover who Tiger will be playing his first two rounds with, and finally get that link to the British Open site firmly planted in our favorites. Also on tap we investigate Tiger’s wardrobe for the week, see what Inkster thinks about the LPGA’s problems, and do a complete wrap-up of the week’s tour winners. Read on!

Hittin' the LinksHello folks, it’s Monday and Hittin’ the Links has returned again with a week full of golf news from the world wide web.

Tiger made sure Jack’s tournament didn’t disappoint! I tell you, nobody finishes like Tiger Woods. Plus, I know I enjoyed the little bonus Wednesday skins game. It’s always nice to get the best players in the world out, mic’d up, and without all the pressure, even if it did rain the entire time.

In this volume, we look at why even Tiger is feeling the recession, find out how he feels about sportsmanship, and see how Jack honored some college golfers. Also on tap, we investigate Greg Norman’s opinion on the Majors, delve into golf on sale, and do a wrap-up of the week’s winners. Read on!

Stricker survives Colonial, Sergio has a broken heart, and Daly looks ahead to his PGA Tour return

Hittin' the LinksHello and welcome again to another volume of Hittin’ the Links. I don’t know about everyone else out there, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Colonial this weekend. I found it even more interesting down the stretch when it seemed like everyone with a shot at winning began giving it away. Congratulations have to go out to Steve Stricker, though if he could have made a three-foot putt he would have won it in regulation!

Anyway, in this newest edition of HTL we begin by doing an update on Amy Mickelson, see what Sergio is blaming his recent poor play on, and find out what we have to look forward to on Wednesday. Also on tap, we look at the NCAA Mens National Championship, see who recently qualified for the British Open, and do a complete wrap-up on this week’s tour winners. Read on!

Then we look forward to the U.S. Open and more specifically the yardage, see why David Toms had a bitter-sweet weekend, and then do a wrap-up of this week’s tour events from around the world. Hittin' the LinksHello golf fanatics and welcome again to another round of Hittin’ the Links. Maybe it’s me but golf this weekend seemed a tad bland. I didn’t even watch any of the final rounds. Perhaps I am just gearing up for the U.S Open next month.

Anyway, there was still a lot going on around the world of golf. We first say goodbye to longtime on course commentator Bob Rosburg, then see what ridiculous thing came out of Michelle Wie’s mouth this time, and check out the player turned caddy, turned player, turned caddy again. Also, we investigate some Asian Tour problems, see what Ian Baker-Finch is up to, and do a wrap-up of this week’s tour winners. Read on!
