Volume Forty-Six

Maybe this week’s column will get me a spot in next year’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Hittin' the LinksThe Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of my favorite golf tournaments to watch. I really like seeing how good the celebrities are. There were a few I thought looked quite good. Thomas Gibson could smoke it and Justin Timberlake and Carson Daly both looked like they knew what they were doing.

Anyway, on to the links.

Hole 1: Big Hitters
I agree with Tiger Woods that guys are going to be hitting the ball further due to athletism and better technique. Let’s think about that when we start talking about how the ball is juiced. [link]

Hole 2: War of the Worlds
I’ve never played War of the Worlds, but this article seems to think that WoW might take the place of golf in the business world. Is there any truth to that? Sounds like the finale of the Battle at the Bridges, huh? [link]

Hole 3: Science Stuff
I’m not a huge science guy, but this article talks about a poly-carbon, something or other that might be used for making stronger golf clubs. I think. I’m not the brightest bulb, so I could be way off. [link]

Hole 4: Gmap
Everyone, go check out this site. It looks really cool and I think the functionality, once it gets polished. [link]

Hole 5: Carl Spackler
Go figure, I’m linking to a Deadspin article. By far, my most favorite sports-related site on the net. [link]

Hole 6: Fox-y Lady
Check out this betty! Yummy. I think I’ve found my soulmate. [link]

Hole 7: Holy Hole-in-One
I found this link from SortaGolf. This is a crazy stat line. I would like to say I’ve had one hole-in-one, let alone 50. [link]

Hole 8: Brown Bag
Here’s a nice golf bag for all you fashonistas around here. It’s got a vintage feel to it. [link]

Hole 9: Urban Golf
Does anyone know if they have these around Washington DC? I’d love to go try one. [link]

  1. It’s actually called World of Warcraft.

    I play it. It’s fun.

I play with/against some work colleagues, friends and others and so the golf analogy holds up to some extent for us techo people.
