Virtually everyone thought Tiger winning was a foregone conclusion. Woody Austin and Ernie Els made us rethink that conclusion several times, but couldn’t quite prove us incorrect.
This week, we have several links from Glory’s Last Shot, not one of which includes the Presidents Cup, now only about a month away.
Hole 1: Woods Wins his 13th Major
Tiger is indeed as beatable as ever, Rory. Heck, he only won one major this year!!! [Link]
Hole 2: Sunday at Southern Hills
A good photo gallery of 20 images or so might help you relive the final round of the PGA Championship. [Link]
Hole 3: What’s that, Woody?
Woody Austin claimed to have outplayed Tiger in the second round… when Woody shot 70 to Tiger’s 63. Woody, c’mon, be serious now! [Link]
Hole 4: Tiger not Injured by Fist Pump

Hole 5: Garcia DQed
Garcia is DQed after signing and incorrect scorecard, kept by Boo Weekley. I guess when he said he had to play against more than the field, he meant the rules of golf as well. [Link]
Hole 6: No 9&8, but Close
Stephen Ames shoots a final-round 76. It’s no 9&8 drubbing like before, but it still pushed Stephen back to +2 for the tournament, well back. [Link]
Hole 7: Phil Claims He’s Not Done
Phil Mickelson, despite past history, claims he’s not packing it in after the PGA Championship like he has every other year. I’m not sure I believe him. [Link]
Hole 8: Uribe Wins
Maria Jose Uribe of Columbia defeats college standout Amanda Blumenhurst 1up in the 36-hole finale to capture the U.S. Women’s Amateur. [Link]
Hole 9: Catriona Matthew Wins Annika’s Event
I was pulling for Laura Diaz, who never seems to win much but always finishes well. New mom Catriona Matthew spoiled that plan. [Link]
