Hole 1: Tiger Woods Impact on the Game of Golf
We all know Tiger Woods has helped turn the golfing industry into a multi-billion dollar business since he stepped foot on the PGA Tour 10 years ago – but do you know how big of an impact he’s really had? Golfweek takes a look at his impact on current minorities, the golfing industry, and the future of golf – the young kids. The Special Report has some great video reports, as well as some very insightful articles. It’s worth a read. [Link]
Hole 2: Steinhauer Wins Women’s British Open
For those of us who were sitting on the couch Sunday watching Tiger Woods and the PGA Tour at the Buick, we all missed the chance to see Sherri Steinhauer win the Women’s Open at Royal Lytham. The win was her third Open title, but her first since the Women’s British Open became a major back in 2001. She won the tournament twice before that in 1998 at Lytham and a year later Woburn. [Link]
Hole 3: Greens Worldwide Buys Tight Lies Mini-Tour
If you have aspirations of playing on the tour someday, then this news might be of some worth to you. Greens Worldwide – owner of the U.S. Pro Tour group – recently bought the Dallas-based Tight Lies mini-tour in the hopes that they can expand the tour nationwide. It’s a good read for anyone who thinks they have game good enough. [Link]
Hole 4: Natalie Gulbis Hits Guy with Golf Ball
This is one of my favorite videos by far. I don’t want to give it away for those who click the link, but let’s just say Gulbis gives this guy a “third ball.” [Link]
Hole 5: This is How We All Play Golf
You’d be lying if something like this didn’t happen to you or one of your buddies while playing golf on a Sunday afternoon. Wait, you say that it hasn’t happened to you before? Well then I guess I’m in the minority. [Link]
Hole 6: Now that is Just Plain Mental!
Breaking clubs and throwing fits are just two ways to kill a good golf round. Check out the link to find a sports psychologist near you to keep your game from going in the toilet. Either that or at least keep you from losing hundreds of dollars in equipment. [Link]
Hole 7: Tiger Woods Has the Perfect Swing
I used to think Ben Hogan had the perfect golf swing — that was until I met a guy by the name of TIger Woods. We all know his swing changes are the reason he’s so good. Well that and the fact that he can hit a 4-iron 238-yards. [Link]
Hole 8: The PGA Championship is Coming Fast
Check out the current website for the upcoming PGA Championship at Medinah if you’re not familiar with the layout or the history of the major championship. Study the site while you contemplate giving up 300 dollars for a weekly tournament badge. Yikes! [Link]
Hole 9: Getting Your Fill of the PGA Championship
Send a Thank You note to the PGA Tour next week if you get the chance. The tour has announced that they will be showing bonus coverage of the PGA Championship online starting at 11:30 a.m. ET on the PGA Tour website. The bonus online coverage will allow you to watch one of four different video feeds from around the course. Thursday and Friday are now days worth getting through for those of you stuck behind a desk. All hail video feed! [Link]
