Volume Six

We explore life after 40, the Big Break III, Nike, and ponder if there’s a drug problem on the PGA Tour.

At least where I’m at spring is here (pretty much), and I’ve begun my training for the world’s longest driver of the golfball (pound for pound that is). I was watching one of those Pinnacle Long Drive Championships and thought that a better judge of distance was yard per pound. I did some quick calculations with my average distance and weight and have put them below.

You’ll see that I’ve added a quote of the week. I’ll look for golf quotes, but if I see something that really tickles my pickle, I’ll use it. I’m also interested in adding some other features cause we all know golf is a lifestyle and there are so many facets to the game and life that we should mention.

Drug Problem on Tour?
Tiger Woods is strung out. So is Vijay. Phil battles with withdrawl symptoms. Are these things that could happen? Maybe, but probably not. Check out this piece (from the paper my girlfriend works at) about these “brainpower” drugs that help you focus. Bring back the beta blockers! [link]

Total World Dominance
Nike is the ultimate marketing company. They’re paying the old guys at the Masters (Casper, etc) $20,000 to play their clubs so they can be the most played club in the tournament. They also have shots like Tiger’s on 16 that create great ad campaigns. I can’t wait to see that one. [link]

Big Break III Final
Who’s your pick? I don’t like either competitor, but hope that Pam wins cause Danielle is annoying as a dingleberry on my dog’s ass. [link]

Life Begins at 40
I guess I don’t care that Vijay made the Golf Hall of Fame on a technicality. He’s good and deserves it. Fourteen wins since he’s turned 40? That’s only second to Slammin’ Sammy’s 17 victories. [link]

Quote of the Week
“It moisturizes my situation and maintains my sexy” – P. Diddy on Proactive Face Soap.

My yards/pound is 1.85. That’s only swinging somewhat hard. I bet I can get my average up higher! What’s everyone else’s?
