Ah, The Open Championship. What a wonderful tournament. As you wind yourself down after that fantastic finish, I’ll give you a little something to keep yourself occupied: this weeks volume of Hittin’ the Links. Like always, I’ve got a good collection of links for you to enjoy. You can thank me later.
P.S. Congratulations, Tiger!
Hole 1: Ryder Cup Warning
The reasons the Euros keep winning the Ryder Cup are twofold. First, they work fabulously as a team and second, they never over- or under-estimate our team. Paul McGinley has maintained this view towards the possibly rookie-filled American Ryder Cup team, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. [Link]
Hole 2: Thanks TNT
Not only did you provide great coverage of The Open Championshp, you didn’t blow the Tiger-Faldo situation out of proportion like most of the media. You guys work with Faldo a good bit so you know the real nick. Thanks to The Bogey Lounge for this article. [Link]
Hole 3: Steroids in Golf
Recently, there has been a thread in the forums about the use of steroids in golf. Golf Fore Golfers has written up an article on the same subject and I believe its worth a read. [Link]
Hole 4: British Open Images and Video
One of the best things about the British Open is the visuals it provides. I love the way dust explodes upward and outward when someone makes an aggressive swing. The official website of The Open Championsip has some excellent images for your enjoyment. [Link]
Hole 5: Ode To Elin
Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. You lucky dog, another claret jug and you’re married to perhaps the hottest woman on the planet. Jeeeeez. [Link]
Hole 6: Ernie Els Swingvision
I’m a huge fan of CBS Swingvision. The 7,000 frames per second video is stunning to watch. Last week I posted a link to the newest Nike commercial in which Nike used a Phantom v5 camera that shoots at 4,000 fps. I can’t imagine the camera used for Swingvision! [Link]
Hole 7: Awesome Open Image Gallery
Thanks to the guys at The Bogey Lounge, I found this link to some very cool images from The Open Championship. They have pictures of everyone in here! [Link]
Hole 8: In Tiger’s Words
Tiger’s official website has an official statement from him about his victory at Royal Liverpool, along with a pretty nice image gallery. [Link]
Hole 9: Congratulations Tiger!
Tiger, you truly are the man. [Link]
