Good Day folks and welcome back to Hittin’ the Links. It was a good win for the Americans this weekend, and Tiger Woods showed up to play, that’s for sure. But I am afraid now there is officially nothing golf-related to look forward to (unless you’re #130 or so on the money list) until next spring [sigh]. But I have all winter to feel sorry for myself; let’s see what’s going on in the world of golf!
In this volume of HTL we first look at why Michael Jordan probably won’t be moving to California anytime soon, investigate a real water hazard, and check out golf’s Olympic bid. Also, we find out who might be the next John Daly, learn how to get a free round of golf from The Donald, and do a recap of the Presidents Cup. Read on!

U.S. Assistant Captain Michael Jordan was threatened with a fine for smoking a cigar at the Presidents Cup. [Link]
Hole 2: Real Water Hazard
In South Carolina, a man lost his arm to an alligator attack while retrieving his ball. Trust me, the gator always wins. (Insert joke about golf balls these days costing an arm and a leg. No? Too soon?) [Link]
Hole 3: Olympic Golf
Golf will join the Olympic Games starting in 2016. [Link]
Hole 4: The Next John Daly?
Robert Allenby thinks Anthony Kim may be playing it a little fast and loose. [Link]
Hole 5: Free Golf on Trump!
Free golf, that is, if you are on the guest list for Donald’s daughter’s wedding. [Link]
Hole 6: Sexiest Women Golfers

Hole 7: Someone Save the Lighthouse!
Verizon has ended its sponsorship of the Heritage at Harbor Town Golf Links. [Link]
Hole 8: Amy Mickelson
Amy Mickelson surprised her husband and the rest of the Presidents Cup team by making a unannounced visit to the festivities. [Link]
Hole 9: Americans Take the Presidents Cup
On the back of strong singles play, the American team wins the Presidents Cup 19½ to 14½. [Link]
The Pink Ribbon club is a large community, my wife is now 10 years out. I am a littler irked at all the press that the Mickelson’s are getting and the pressure put on the tour to make a big deal about her situation. Everything I have heard about her case leads me to believe she will be fine… can we let it go now? Lots of people have died from breast cancer over the golf season, where are the constant announcer comments about them? The way the tour has handled this has made it seem that rich people’s wives are news and real people’s wives don’t matter. It is a big tour and a bigger world, Amy isn’t the only person who has been ill.
Right on, Frank.
Did anyone besides me wonder what Michael Jordan was doing on the President Cup Team anyway? Is he gonna be a line jude at Wimbledon next…? Crew chief for for Jeff Gordon…? Or, maybe he’d like to go into politics and play governor for a while… he can evidently get done whatever he wishes.
